My Diary and how I will pay myself to exercise

Not such a bargin after all. Something funny going on with the seller and unathourised activity on their account, have been dealing with ebay, and now paypal. Looks like it is a scam. Bugger. I know I will get my money back so not such a big problem. Thought it was too good to be true.
Knew the price was too good to be true.:banghead:

Am stunned beyond disbelief, and so bloody angry!!!!! Have just received an email from PayPal service team rejecting my claim. I now have to open a dispute. and waste my time following up all the different avenues to get my money returned. That is unless pigs fly and they actually pay the person in China who has had the access removed from ebay, and then the person in China actually sends me the goods, and they work as they should.
Need to walk away from the keyboard now as I have nothing but vicious evil thoughts going around in my head. Lots of foul foul language happening here right now:rant::rant:
So much for the lovely Paypal Buyer Protection Policy email I received last week. :cuss::piggy::boxing::flame::argue::banghead: :toetap05:

It's the biggest pain when you have to file a dispute with them - especially when they only allow 3 a year or something silly! (As if you can help it if people mess you about!)

Anyway deep breaths lol - you'll get it back eventually if you keep kicking up a big enough fuss. :) xx

thanks Tutti. I sent off a couple of emails to Paypal and Ebay. Ebay replied with a phone number for Paypal, so I got to talk to a real live person. The claim has now been reopened and is back under investigation. Hopefully common sense will prevail.

Have just had my Sunday morning weigh in, and am stoked. I lost 2kg exactly. :jump:

I don't feel like I have gone without anything (food wise) during the week. I have just been sensible. I have worked 5 days this week. I have been out to lunch twice during the week, and have had 3 days at work where I have stayed back and had home cooked meals for lunch. I have had desert twice but both times they were only small serves of a light fruit type desert. I am also eating a smaller serve meal of my OH at night, when normally I have eaten the same size as him. I am also making sure that we are having our evening meal before 7.30 at night as some nights we weren't eating until much later.

The only things I haven't had this week have been the four foods I switched off in my Hypnotherapy session, which were: chocolate, lollies, bread and coffee. I haven't been even noticed not having them anymore which is great.

I know it is only my second week, but as I have lost 5kg I can see a difference already. I can see some of the puffiness gone from my face and hands.

My knee continues to play up, so I need to make a concious effort to take my glucosomin (sp) which like my eating habits and exercise, I have gotten very lazy with.

It is hard to believe that only two weeks ago I was completely unmotivated and switched off. My expectation was to try and lose 2kg a month, so to have lost 5.6kg in two weeks is amazing, and has given me the boost I needed. As with last week, I would expect next weeks loss to be a small one.

Had my week 3 weigh in on Sunday, and as I had expected it was only a small loss, 400g. Am quite happy with that as it is still a loss. I have been resonably good. I am having no trouble not snacking between meals and making good choices at meal time. I went out for lunch with work three times during the week. The first two times I stuck to pretty simple meals, a roast and a warm salad. The third time we went out somewhere very special, so I just relaxed and enjoyed the meal. We were at an olive grove restaurant. Lots of love olives and infused oils to taste. I had the garlic and chilli prawns in a creamy sauce with couscous and sourdough bread. Was fantastic, and have no regrets. My only really bad day was on Wednesday when my OH bought home pies and sausage rolls for lunch. I wasn't really interested in them, but he was a bit put out so it was just easier to eat them. Went to work that night and they had quiche for tea, so a second lot of pastry. Never mind, it was only the one day, and I still lost weight instead of gaining, so am not stress.

I am finding that the idea of taking my exercise payments and sealing the envelope is working well for me. It means that each week I have started anew and it reafirms my focus. I also found that it got me motovated on Friday and Saturday to hop on the bike. I looked at what I had earnt durning the week and realised that it wasn't as much as I wanted to put away, and the only way to achieve the extra money was to either take long walks after a couple of long days at work, or to hop on the bike.

I had another session with the Hypnotist. This time she reinforced (in my head) the idea of eating slowly and savoring the meal.

I am sure that my sessions with her and the cd I have to use at home have helped me to change my eating patterns.

Got off to a very good start this week, but quite unintentionally. I had to set up a special activity at work on Sunday, so I had my own personal little working bee as I got everything ready. I came home and decided to walk the dogs around the 4k circut. When I was about 1k away from home, 3 dogs came out from their house. I know these dogs and they have attacked my dogs working as a pack before. I had no choice but to turn round and walk my lot back the way we had just come. I was really annoyed as it was right on dusk. Didn't get home until 9.30pm.
I had a really busy day at work yesterday. I had a few treats that I would normally have but it was part of my special days activity. At the end of the day I had to pack up everything I had set up the day before. Was up and down ladders and steps and moving things around. Today I am a little stiff and sore, so I must have got a bit of exercise.
Am taking it a bit quiet today, but will still try to get the dogs out for a walk, and hope that it was loosen up my aches and pains.

I have started a monetary incentive plan for weight loss myself. I thought that since I'm not rich by any means and every bit of money that I have is really important, losing a significant amount of money would really be bad for me. So I set out on a goal last week to drop 90 pounds, from about 270 to about 180, and I hope to accomplish it within the year. I charge myself $10 for every day that I don't workout atleast 30 minutes. I reward myself with $20 for every pound that I lose. So I figure that if on average I work out 4 days a week and lose 2 pounds per week, I will earn $10 per week. I have made a pledge to myself to become healthy and lose weight. At the end of the year I will treat myself to something really nice with the money I earned. If I don't do what I need to do to change my life around I will owe money, and I plan to donate that money to charity. I made sure to tell people I am close to about my plan to keep me accountable at the end of the year. Good luck, I hope you have success with your plan!

Thats awesome Techwreck, I hope you do really well. I wish you the asolute best of luck. Keep us posted won't you:waving:

Finally common sense has prevailled. Paypal reinvestigated my claim, and guess what the found in my favour. Will be getting my money back. Shouldn't have been as difficult as it was though.

How can a homeowner get away with having three unleashed dogs that have previously attacked yours and probably many others? Are there no leash laws there? Georgia is very strict, if a dog attacks once and only once, they are put to death. It's harsh because sometimes a small nip isn't so much threatening as it is an exuberant dog being playful. I'm glad to hear that you were able to turn around without being followed by the dogs, which could have been worse.

Our dog laws a very clear and quite sensible here in Australia Veronica. The person who owns these dogs is very much in the wrong. The problem is that until his dogs do real serious damage it is not going to change his mentality. The street he lives in is around 15 years older than our newly established sub-divison. We are very much a rural area with all properties being 2-5 acre blocks. The residence in the older street still have not come to terms with the fact that they now need to close their gates and keep their dogs contained on their own property.

The first time his dogs attacked mine was over three years ago. I have whippets which do not have the protection of layers of fat and long fur to safeguard them in a fight. I am an experience dog owner with many years of being involved in dog clubs, so I am not spooked easily by unknown dogs, and can read their behaviours and body language well.

This particular owner has a Jack Russell, who acts as an alert to the two big dogs. One is a Ridgeback x Lab, and the other is a very large Lab. Both dogs are males, the large lab is very much the alpha male. At the time of the first attack I was walking past his place with my (then) 2 year old male and 3 month old bitch. The dogs came at us from two different directions and were working very much as a pack. I was left with no choice but to pick up the pup and to let Beau go to short his own safety out. Luckily it was over and done with very quickly and Beau only had a small wound. I did inform the owners, and I took to avoiding walking past their place.

Recently there has been a new sub-division built which now creates a nice walking circut which includes going past their house. A lot more residence are now walking down this street. It had been over three years since the last attack so I concidered the possiblity that Sunday nights encounter was a one off, that was until last night, when it happened again. I am aware of other dog owners who have similar frustrations walking past this house. I intend to approach the owner and let them know it is a problem, and that should his dogs continue to leave his property I will make a formal complaint to the council. The fines for unsupervised dogs that rush other dogs, and dogs found off their own property are quite servere, so times that by three dogs, and it will soon add up.

It's a bloody nusiance as I really was enjoying walking that route. I will continue to walk this way, but as soon as I see his dogs at the front of his property, I will be left with no choice to turn round and walk away. It is too big a risk to my own dogs to continue on and expose them to the possiblity of being attacked, espcially the pup. I have three dogs. Beau (5), Phoebe,(4) and Shari (8 months old)

On the bright side though, it did mean I got another 7k walk again yesterday.

Exactly one month ago, I sat at my dining room table with a piece of paper and jotted down some ideas that had been rambling around in my head for a few days. Even though I knew I should try and do something about reversing the trend of my ever increasing weight, I really wasn't interested, so this sounded like a bit of a stupid idea, that could have possibly been just another pitiful effort to ignore the problem.

I don't know how many times in the past couple of years I have seen special occasions looming in the future and thought to myself, that I have two months to loose a bit of weight, and then done nothing about it.

I had thought that if I could find a way to stop myself from eating the foods I knew I shouldn't eat so much of, and took the dogs on the longer of their daily walks then I could possibly start to shed a small amount of weight without actually dieting. Boy was I wrong. I didn't loose a small amount of weight, I lost heaps!!!!!!!! My total weight loss for January is $7.2kg.

I don't feel like I have dieted, I have just been sensible and responsible for the food that has gone in my mouth. I have been out for lunch many times over the last month, and have chosen carefully. I have not snacked in between meals. I have only had two small bite size pieces of chocolate, eaten in company as part of a special occassion. I have probably only eaten about 6 slices of bread, as sandwiches for lunch. Bread was an issue because I tended to snack on it as it was easy, and always had toppings such as jam, peanutbutter or strasburg (cold meat/sausage). I have only had two cups of coffee. I cut the coffee out because I usually ate with it. And the only other thing I have done is cut down the size of my evening meal. I was eating the same size meal as my husband, even though he is 6'4" and I am 5'4", and he works a physical type job and mine is more mentally stimulating.

The biggest added bonus to all of this is that finally the pup has learnt to walk nicely in a pack with the other two dogs. No more grabbing at their leads for a bit of a chew, or taking little flying leaps over them because she thought it was time for a play. And no more pulling on the lead. :hurray: So now it is a pleasure to walk all three of them for 4-5ks, instead of cutting it short and just going around the block.:)

So in 31 days I have gone from being completely unmotivated to completely confident that I will acheive my goal of 77kg (or better). I have lost a whole dress size without feeling like I am living off rabbit food, and I have put away $122 for spending money on my holiday at the end of the year.

As with previous weeks I think the big loss's will stop, so my goal for Febuary is to loose 3kg

This is brilliant :hurray: and it's sooo motivating to keep going when you feel you've done well. Keep it up! x

I am loving your system... I myself probably have a vacation on easter and I need a ton of money for it plus a nicer figure ;)! To be honest I am not sure how to make sure I don't spend too much money if it is all in one account, I don't have a savings account so I am thinking of putting the money in an envelope in the house. But then I get the panic, what if someone comes into the house to steal and I have an envelope with a lot of money lying around for no reason. Oh difficult decisions.

You have done so well in January, I don't doubt one minute that you will lose 3 kg (and more) in February. You are doing it the exact right way, eating sensibly and exercising sensibly, no restricting like crazy but a sustainable way that you will be able to maintain more or less once you reach goal weight. Well done!
Have a great week, Camy

Thanks Camy. I have a pretty little gift box that I put the money in. At the end of the week I take the money and put it in an envelope and seal it. On the front I record the week number, my weight, and the amount. Once it is sealed I have no temptation to go back an raid the money box. For me it is like I have closed the book on the previous week, and I get to start afresh, and I am not actually looking at the money. Lots of mini goals instead of looking a great big massive target.
