my courage to be healthy, happy, and whole!

courage to be

New member
Okay... I have been here before - but i'm back with a new name and a new game. Previously I was "amomono" - but I kept giving up and restarting and giving up again.

This last time, I gave up because too much happened in my life. A weekend trip home turned into 10 days because my grandfather died... when i came back to school everything just piled up and i couldn't spend the time i needed to take care of myself.

I have realized how important self-care is, and I am committed to make it happen in my life. And I decided I wasn't waiting until a new year to make it happen.

So Katie's back - with a new name - and a new start.

(sheesh - i feel like i've given this speech a million times!)

I also want to get myself a good start for Christmas - I'm going to invite my mom to join us (I hope she takes me up on it) and I'm hoping we can keep each other motivated and it can be some family bonding - although we live far apart.

Here we go...

Welcome back :D

Trust me...been there done that! I am a mom of 2 and wife, and have left myself go for far to long! I always thought it was almost selfish to take care of me. In the meantime, instead of HELPING my family with taking care of only them....I have caused pain, and CHAOS in my house! I am now taking care of me, and we are ALL better because of it!

I'm sure you will do great! We are all here to support and encourage!!!

Doing awsome girl Omg i just seen your ticker you guys set a date I am so excited for you!!!!!!!!!!! Woooooooooooooohoooooooooo

okay - five things about me...

1) I am going to be a minister in the United Methodist Church
2) I'm getting married next August (to Brandon)
3) I LOVE to cook
4) my favorite tv show - right now - is Grey's Anatomy
5) my favorite person in the entire world is my Babi (czech for Grandma) - she always writes me letters and cards and just has so much love in her life... I want to be just like her!

Ooo, I love Grey's!! I keep forgetting it's on though, so now I'm hopelessly lost..lol.

Keep up the great work!!!

lol - you can watch the episodes on abc.go.com =) (this season's at least)

ladies and gentlemen, I have a confession to make... I totally binged last night. After all the foods listed in my previous entry and going over calories anyways, I kind of gave up for the evening. I started with just a bowl of popcorn - to tide me over b/c i was still hungry... but then I had two small servings of ice cream (I eat ice cream in small cups to help with portion size... doesn't work if you have two!) and then my fiance was hungry for pizza late at night, so I indulged his craving by running out and getting some, and then eating some of it myself - doh!

I think the problem stems from 1) not eating breakfast; 2) exercising more than normal, so my body is craving food for energy; 3) having two drinks - which let my judgment go down just ever so slightly...(and added tons of calories)

SO - new day - new opportunity to succeed.
