My Big Fat Journal

Wotcha Pinster!

Sounds like a fun day! Pet hair is no fun, our cats are moulting something rotten at the moment. Better to get it done elsewhere without the hassle of cleaning.

Salad recipe (I haven't tried it, so can't give it the thumbs up) but a different one is to first off cook a piece of lean chicken (the destructions say to boil in chicken stock with a bay leave; plain sandwich chicken is easier.) While that's going on, fill a plate with young spinach leaves, then a thin layer of red onion rings. Once the chicken's done, cut into piece and arrange over that. Then add raspberries (yes, raspberries) and prepare the dressing (natural yoghurt with a touch of honey and raspberry vinger.)

I just go spinach, chicken and honey mustard dressing though. Hope the above inspired you anyway :)

Have a marvellous Bon Dimanche

Yikes, why does TOM always arrive at the most inconvenient times!!! :)

Hope you had a nice little nappy in the hammock, that sounds divine. But girl, you better get your sleep...we need our sister well rested, bright eyed and bushy tailed. Like I should be talking...it's 4:55 am and I'm on the computer!! HA!!

I can either go back to bed or go do a 27 Fling Boogie. What do you think? Hope you have a good rest of your weekend.

Hey Pineola to answer your question on my diary I called my scorpions Keir and Keira. Keir comes from an old Irish name meaning "dark"!;) You should try getting some scaley pets, they don't shed their coats as often and when they do it's all in one piece! Tarantulas are cute and fluffy as well just like a little 8-legged dog hehehe ;)

oooh. spicy tuna burger... that sounds delicious. *drools*
I've been aching for some fish lately. Bleh. Too much beef and chicken as of late.

anyways, glad to see you're doing good. soo drink your water and go to bed early missy! ;)

Hey, Initial C---I noticed you are now a "member" so I went and looked at myself and I am a "member" too!

Hello All.

I am having a very, lazy relaxing weekend. I slept in until after 10:00--I have not done that in probably 6mos or more. Granted, I went to bed late, but I still got over 8 hours in and it feels great!

Hotter than Hades again. I can't stand it. I don't have central air either, but I live in a really old house with thick plaster walls and if you don't open the windows and shut the doors really fast when you let the dogs in and out it stays nice and cool. I have a window unit for my bedroom upstairs, as you know, heat rises. Anyway, I don't know why I am telling you all this, it must be as exciting as watching paint dry....

It's Sunday so I prepard a lot of food today to have this week. I made a couple of Maleficent's dishes. The Taboullah Salad and the Zuccini Maleficent. I grilled some chicken breast, bagged up some Bing Cherries in some snack bags so I can just grab them. I purchased some Salmon Burgers which I think will go great with the Taboullah. I also have some Chilpolte Chili Wraps to put veggies and stuff in. A couple of apples and a bag of apricots and my Luna Bars and I think I am good to go. I love not having to think about what to eat all week. I can't tell you how it takes the pressure off me.

I am so glad I don't have to feed anyone else. It must be really difficult. I have so much respect for people who stick to their good eating habits while having to feed the kids, a husband etc... Paul and I have always been pretty much on our own at dinner time. More so now, but really he and I only ate the same things a couple of times a week. He doesn't like anything that is not plain and I don't like anything that is. He hates most vegatables.

I really am not looking forward to weighing in tomorrow. TOM came and brought JIMMY, JOE and FRED with him.

Crunchie, I love your little critters, but I don't think I could get the false feeling that they couldn't live without me like I can with a dog. I like to think this anyway...but intellectually I know if someone came along that gave them table scraps (which they don't get around here) they would have a new best friend.

Scarlett, I love the 27 Fling Boogie. I have to admit--sometimes I do the boogie, but I don't do the 2nd part where you give it away. I just do the throw away part. I don't know if I don't want to give away anything or if I am too lazy to put it in my car an take it somewhere.

That salad sounds really good, Bron. I may try that this week. If not, next week.

Thanks for all the good thoughts everyone. See you around town.

Hey Pinny,

Great job on being prepared! That's what I like to see. It really helps the "no-fail" environment. *high five*! :D

It's not so hard to feed others. My son just has what I have(or something similar) and I cook the supper at night so, it's eat it or be hungry :p LOL. I'm lucky in this regard because my son is not a picky eater and basically what my son doesn't like, daddy and mommy don't like either so we're pretty much good to go.

I hope you're weekend is going great! :)

YAY for membership - couldn't happen to a nicer gal... :)

Tomorrow is only mid-challenge- it'll give the other teams a false sense of security or soemthing - I k now you'll kick butt and take names the foloowing week :)

Have yourself a cooool day..

Oh! I know what you mean! All of their twins showed up here! But like Mal said, it is only the mid-challenge weigh in and it will just give the other teams a false sense of security. Double time, since we are both in on it! ;) Lol!

Hey, Pin! Just popping in to say hi. Sounds like you had alot more energy than I did this weekend despite the heat. I haven't even thought about what to eat next week, let alone fix stuff. I should be more like you ... it would make my week so much easier! :) Keep up the great work, and have a terrific week!

Wotcha Pinster!

Congrats on your memberage! *throws confetti* YEA WOO RAAR!

Glad you've had a relaxing weekend, and it's graet that you've been able to take away any worries of eating by preparing yourself. Go you!

I know what you mean about feeding other mouths, but for guests (I'm still spreading the word) the tuna burgers work well, especially with a bit of salad to make it look pretty, then some sugar free jelly/jello for after.

On the husband front, I understand completely, my boyfriend is a terror for eating. This time last year it was impossible to eat out with him because there was nothing he liked or was willing to try. All he ate for most of his childhood and teenage years was cheese, or cheese in bread

Have a lovely day!

Pineola, Good Luck on the weigh in - your spirit and support of others will make you light as an angel! Thanks for checking in on my dairy! - NAT

dont let TOm, Fred, john, or joe get you down! we all know what happens to our body and weight retention!! ugh. just another thing we have to deal with. try to get through the week - you are doing fabulous - keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!! (and thanks for checkin in on my diary! much appreciated!!!!!) have a great day!!

Your post made me hungry, luckily for only good for me things! I wnat to try and plan my days that I'm at work a bit more. You are doing so well at it that it makes me feel I have to!

Thanks for dropping by my thread. I'm trying to get back on track mentally and your encouragement helped. :)

Congratulations on your loss this week!!! I guess you just told old TOM that he wasn't going to affect you!!!! So happy for you!!!!

Hotter than Hell again today; however, I am proud to say I went to the gym. When it is this hot, the air conditioner in the gym doesn't even feel like it is on. It was 97 when I got off work. NO THANKS!! Days like this make me think of snow as magical and wonderful. Come February I'll be complaining about that too. I have become such a weather wimp. 20 years in Northern California have spoiled me rotten. The good news is that Paul gets off of work earlier now so I can go straight from work to the gym and not have to worry about coming home and letting the dogs out. This should make it a lot easier for me. Once I get home I just want to stay here.

Did great on calories today too. My net is about 1350. This challenge has really got me on track. I have not binged or anything. Maybe had a snack or two when I really wasn't all that hungry, but never more than a portion. I am getting really good at eating 11 tortilla chips. I really can't believe it.

I started an organization method today. I think I talked about it earlier. You pick some goals. Here were mine.

Weigh 230 by Christmas
Prepare myself for a promotion
Have bedroom painted, carpet pulled up and floors polished by 8/30/06
To be an excellent friend and partner.

You take those goals and chart your week out with exercises that get you to the goal. For example I must spend at least 15mins spackling in by bedroom everyday. I have to spend 15mins per day studying. I have charted out calls I need to make and cards I need to send to friends and nice things to do for Paul. I am really bad about calling people. I hate talking on the phone. I do it all friggin day long. Anyway...you get the picture. The trick is small chunks of time so you don't feel overwhelmed. I sort of made this up from the Covey plan and the Flylady. I hope it works. Keep your fingers crossed for me, cause I am a big un-organized mess.

Thanks again for all your well wishes. It means a lot.
