My Befores....don't laugh

Nobodys going to laugh, you really don't look to big at all. Way to go on your loss so far and I hope you see through to your goal.

Thanks. I keep yo-yoing between 160-170 and for some reason I can't seem to get underneath that. I thought this might be a good reason to keep me motivated. For someone my size (5'2") this is a lot of extra weight that doesn't need to be there. If anyone can help keep me motivated that would be greatly appreciated. BTW- does anyone know if stretch marks go away, I still have some on my tummy from having my daughter 17 months ago. They are lighter in color but more the indented kind now, I try creams and all that but they seem to only help so much. Plus right now, I'll I am doing for exercise is walking, I don't have the money for a gym. Is there something else I can do that is cardio and doesn't cost anything, I think I'm platueing from just walking. Thanks everyone.

I'm short too, 5' 2 3/4", so I know what you mean.

Have you ever tried tae bo?? I HATE working out, I HATE everything about it, but I actual like tae bo and I've done it for the last two years (off and on while on diets). It works really well and it isn't so hard. I do the beginners one, and like level 1 or something, and then I have the abs one that I do here and there. But it is great cardio, and you feel stronger too. It isn't expensive and you can use it until you feel like it isn't doing the job anymore (and you can do it a long long time before that happens). You can start doing as much as you can and pushing yourself to do it longer, harder, etc. I seriously think you would love it.

I would look on ebay! Good luck!

Keep it up.... you are heading in the right direction. I would recommend doing wind sprints mixed in with your walking. This will get your heart rate up which will help burn fat and calories. The best way to describe how to do this is pick a line of where you walk and then run as fast as you can to a certain point then start walking again and do this several times during your walk you will see the weight come off quicker! I also recommend doing push-ups and sit-ups when you are outside or in the house immediatley following your walk.:) Good Luck!

Honestly I think you carry your weight really good. My advice is keep on walking and maybe start jogging even if its for a like a minutes ( I personally hate running ) and then walk and then jog for another minute and walk. I mix cardio with pilates and that helps me tone up and loose weight at the same time. If you ever need more motivation feel free to message me and we can exchange screen names or something like that . My friend talked to people online who were trying to loose weight and it kept her motivated a lot .

Hey there... I think ya look really great.. I can't wait to get where you are so you pics really motivated me.. Thanks for posting!

shorty

Hey shorty-

I can't get to a gym either, I don't have a car during the day and I'm home with my 1 yr old son. And I don't have money for excercise equip. So I just bought a stair stepper off of craigslist for about $20 and it has worked me so hard! I also bought an excercise ball, weights and some dvd's. Those are all under $20. Well I weigh about ten more pounds than you but it looks like 50! Meaning you carry it very well. Good luck!

Hey Shorty,

Of course we won't laugh!! At this point I would love to look like your "before" picture, I still have some to get there!!
About the strechmarks. Sorry I don't have good news. I have a 2 years old and while my strechmarks faded quite a bit, they are there and I was told by other moms that they will stay. The only thing I have comfort in : it is genetic. :jump: I have to blame it on something.
Anyway, good luck on your journey and hope to see "after" pictures!!

Hi Shorty,

For cardio at home that doesn't cost anything... you could dance around (I know it sounds silly but if you really get going it works). You could also get a jump rope... those a cheap and can really get your heart pumping:)

hey, we have similar bodies as of right now. I'm 5'4" and at 170. I don't know about the stretch mark thing, i think they're permanent, but there are ways to get them to be less noticeable. take vitamin E gel capsules, break them open and massage the oil into the stretch marks twice a day, for some people this has made them go away entirely!

and if you don't have a gym membership, take advantage of the summer and public parks! go swimming! It's such a good workout, and you wont even feel like you're working out because its enjoyable, then lay on the beach afterwords and feel good about yourself.

also, if you do want to join a gym, i dont know if they have 24 hour fitness by you, but right now theres no processing or initiation fees and its 20 dollars a month, month-to-month...which lets face it people, thats like what we spend on lattes, or one trip out to eat.

you look great! keep up the good work!

if anyone laughs at you just PM me and i'll pay them a little visit ;) lol Nah no one'll laugh cause we're all here for the same reason and to get support from others

I think if you walk/run (CONSISTENTLY) and keep to a diet you should be good to go.
