My Befores... bum bum buuuum!

Okay, well I decided to post my befores because there's probably nothing more motivating than having pictures of yourself in a bikini on the WWW...

I'm 5'9 and 148lbs with a 22%bf, so I'm healthy... buuuuuut... vanity is propelling me to be *healthier* I eat fairly healthy (high protein, low "bad" fats, but probably too much sugar, 1500 - 1800 calories per day), jog three - five days a week, do sporadic pilates and weights, and walk everywhere.

Basically I want to tone and tighten things up a bit. Leaner and more muscular would be nice, especially around my midsection. My hips are bony, even though it doesn't look like it (I have "child bearing" hips and sturdy Scandinavian bone structure, oh joy), so I guess they'll have to do. I want a higher, rounder bum and awesome arms and shoulders. Hopefully by the end of the year.

Any suggestions on how to achieve these goals would be awesome… I need all the help I can get.

 .... wow. Those are "before" pics? Sweetah.

Hey you look great! I was looking at the picture and I was like, 'hey we have the same thighs....' then I actually read above and it said you had a scandanavian frame.....so do I!

For the rear...squats and lunges. I've been doing them for a few months now and I've gotten roundness that I never had before. There are other exercises for that area as well, but those are the two basics that I do (for now). I actually have been using a DVD by the woman who did the Buns of Steel videos, it's Tammilee Webb's "I Want That Body." Cheesy title, but the exercises are no joke.

I would suggest, being more consistent with the weight training, rather than sporadic. Train your whole body 2-3 times a week. As mentioned, squats and lunges are good for shaping your legs and butt, assuming your diet is in check. I'm not sure how familiar you are with weight training exercises, like which exercises work what parts of the body. If you could post your knowledge of weight training, I think we could better guide you on a routine. Good luck with your goals. :)

Those are before pics? For one thing you def look and sound healthy, so nice work there. Like jpc said, get your weights and pilates down and your goal will be achieved faster than you think. Good luck on finishing up your goals. :)

Hey guys, thanks for the nice comments and suggestions - I'll put them into use! Haha, I did squats and lunges the other day and woke up so sore that I had to postpone my morning jog... for two days...

And yay for us awesome Scandinavians. Olga crush!

Keep up with the squats and lunges and you'll see changes before long. It only took a few weeks (not using any weights) for me to see a change. Good luck!

i think u look really skinny. but i understand the personal desire to tone up. i dont think you should focus too much on losing weight....just on toning because u already have a great body. good luck. :)

lookin' good...
i find cold water helps though since u seem so determined to thin down more than u already are... more protein is always good if you ask me... 35% of protein calories get burned off in fat/carb calories so thats good... but you need a lot of protein for that amount of calories lol...
but the cold water is because it cools your insides down, and then your body has to heat back up to 98.6F so it burns calories in order to do so..
and then cardio :) cardio is the key to losing weight lol

wide hips are such an issue to us gals. Their structure will always show even if you go down to skinny.. look at mischa barton, she's skinny (skinnyfat anyway) but still has wide hips.

Good luck on your progress

Mischa Barton looks like a diseased ridden horse. I really hope no girls on this forum aspire to look like that.

lol.. i didn't say anything about aspiring to look like her.. i was just using her as an example since she's on the slim side but with hips. ;)

(poor girl though i don't think she looks THAT bad, personally anyway.)
