My before pic

My friend got a tatoo in the same place, on her lower back. They told her she couldn't get some type of painkiller during pregnancy because of it's location. Is that true?

Do you mean during delivery? I just got the tattoo in January, and had already had my 2 kids (one with an intrathecal, which is a painkiller shot in the spinal cord, and one without any meds). However, my sister in law had a baby a couple of months after me and she had an epidural and every med in the book, and she has a back tattoo. Also, my best friend has about 4 tattoos (lower back, shoulder blade, ankle, hip) and she had an epidural.

Perhaps if the tattoo were a bit higher, in the middle of the back, which is where they insert the needles for an epidural or intrathecal, there would be a problem. They wouldn't want to insert the needles through inked skin, I'd think. However, there are also meds available that would go into the IV in her arm.

Too true I have three tattoos and I had an epidural for my first one (csection)
ink has no bearing on where you can insert iv catheters, it just makes it harder to monitor is all. Its harder to see if its gone interstial when you have a tattoo.

Thanks, I designed it myself. The butterfly is a symbol of metamorphosis, and the 2 scrolls on either side actually are 2 halves of a heart. Encased in the heart scrolls are K k (on the left, for my sons Kyle and Karson), and J (on the right, for my husband Jason).

Nice Tat !

Update: progress photos added

I'm adding these progress photos after 2 months of working out. I must say I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't make more of a dent in my tummy. I do think my arms are a lot stronger, but my husband says they're big. I think I'm sort of in the awkward stage right now. But, it's more motivation for me. To me, I feel smaller, I weigh less, but in the photos I look bigger. Input?

Oh, and here are the old ones from February.

Thanks Jenn. I'm happy with my back and I've noticed my thighs are smaller, but they don't look very good to me yet. I can see small changes but I have to keep telling myself that this is only 8 weeks difference. In another few (or maybe I should say several) months I will be smokin', lol.

Now, I wish all the other chickadees would post their pics up.

lol... you make me blush, Evo.

I just noticed the date on the old photos, which made me realize that these photos weren't taken 8 weeks apart... it was actually 6 weeks and 2 days. I guess that makes me feel a little better, although I wish I had waited the extra 2 weeks to post photos!

I thought I would post my "before" pic, soon I will post a current one and hopefully in a month my "after" pic! This one show me at New Years Eve, I am 5'4" and was 141 in this pic. I have since then buckled down at the gym and I am down to 132. I feel like I have put on some muscle too. As you can see (or at least in my opinion) my waist/abs area is the worst. I will soon be posting better photos, more like the ones that everyone else posts (ie different angles and muscle groups).

C'mon, give me some feedback to motivate me at the gym!

Update:I couldn't find any more pics from before, but I've posted some truly embarassing photos of myself taken today. As you can see, my arms need serious help, and my tummy and inner thighs are flabby (at least that's what I see as my problem areas). Any advice on how to work these areas better would be appreciated.

Man....must be nice to look like that! I have more flab than that! I want ur hips....belly....damn....talk about motivation! GOOD JOB!!

i didn't think your before pics needed much improvement, but your now pics look even better. nice job!

Holy smokes, I just saw your before and afters. You've made quite an improvement! Your back is looking very strong in your back double bi photo.
