My Basketball Program

Im looking to really improve my overall Basketball skills. In both an aerobic capacity and a physically strong capacity.

My program is as follows:

Monday:
Program A
Squats
Bench
Incline Dumbell Press
Military Press
Upright Rows
Assisted Chin-ups

3x Ab Exercises

Tuesday:

3km Run

1xhr Individual Basketball Practice

Wednesday

30 min Individual Basketball Practice

Program B
Deadlifts
Bent Over Rows
Calf Raises
Dips
Incline Dumbell Press
Leg Press
3 x Abs Exercises


Thursday

Game Day

Friday

Rest Day

Saturday

Program A


Sunday

Rest Day

Monday

Program B



and so on....

Im just hoping that this program gives me a good balance of things. Im playing a small forward role in the team so I want to be both agile and strong.
Im very interested in trying out resistance and plyometrics training but im not sure what is suitable for me to incorporate.
Ive read a fair bit on the subject but im getting lots of conflicting backgrounds. Stair jumps seem to be popular, but do I need to have more physical strength to undertake these exercises.

Play more basketball. Practice your skill drills seven days per week. Find where the best players are and play with them even if you get the crap kicked out of you. Two on two-three on three are good games to work on both individual and team skills. Small forwards have a great first step with a great outside shot. Work on that by yourself while shooting as many perfect practice shots as possible. Train specific muscles for your sport. Jump rope, sprint, squats with explosion. Your weight routine is good but keep doing research on sport specific exercise. This is a sport of confidence so play against better players and take your lumps.
