MY LOSS OF WEIGHT: 266 lbs to ???
STARTING WEIGHT Feb. 2010 : 266 LBS (120kg)
Before
Waist Size: 44
Size: XXL
Back in April of 2010, I stumbled upon this forum during my weight loss journey and it definitely helped reading peoples success stories and how they were able to accomplish their goals. This motivated me; “if they can do it, I can do it”
“Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.”Jim Rohn
“The thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen.”Frank Loyd Wright
How I got so heavy:
During my college years, I worked part time on a fast food place and I was a hardcore Computer Gamer, I munch on chips, chug on sodas while playing for hours. Since I work at a fast food place I ate what they serve for my break time which consist of sodas fries and a burger. Majority(almost all of it) of my daily meal came from fast food and processed food.
The Breaking Point:
Waking up every day feeling muscle ache and join pain. I was feeling so miserable and to get rid of that I ate even more food. No energy, having a hard time sleeping, waking up in the middle of the night catching your breathe. I felt like that hour glass is ending for me like my heart is going to give out at any given moment, that’s pretty sad for someone at the age of 23 to think that, but I felt like If I don’t change my ways I will suffer a heart attack at an early age.
My Work
Majority of what I did was on the treadmill or the elliptical machine. I started out in the elliptical machine as soon as I lost some lbs I think I was at 240s. I felt comfortable enough to switch to the treadmill. I work my way up from walking then jogging and eventually run at a fast pace which I don't recommend on the treadmill unless your used to it then I added the weightlifting portion of it. A typical day for me is I would jog for 15 mins, stetch, weightlift for an hour then finish it off with the elliptical for an hour. I did this routine 4-5 days a week as weeks pass by I added new workouts and increase the time. Currently my current typical day is I wake up I do a quick 5 min jump rope then 10-15 mins on my elliptical at home and some lightworkout to start out my day then head to the gym after work warmup in the treadmill for an hour at 6.5 mph pace every 15 mins changing it to 8.5 mph pace for 2:30 mins then back to 6.5 pace then I stretched for about 30 mins followed by liftingweights for an hour and 30 mins drink my whey protein and ending it with either the stairmaster, bike, or elliptical at the end.
Some things I did that helped:
1. Avoiding Sodas and Fast Food Places
2. Drinking lots of water, keeping a water bottle around me at all times even at work.
3. Keeping a balance routine day to day, avoiding sleeping late and getting my 8+ hours of sleep.
4. Giving 100% effort and every workout and exercises I do whenever I go to the gym day in and day out. Once I get out of that treadmill I am literally dripping with all sweat.
5. WHEY PROTEIN!
6. Lots of salad, reading the Nutrition Facts on Food labels and ingredients. Keeping my sodium intake at 1500-2000 mg. HEALTHY EATING =)
