Muscle failure without the "burn" of fatigue first

I have been experiencing muscle failure, without the burning sensation associated with fatigue. I experience failure at anywhere between 8-12 reps, depending on what muscle group I am exercising.

Do I need to be experiencing the burning associated with fatigue in order to get the most out of my workout? Or is it just important to bring it to failure? I've done some research and found varying opinions and just wanted to post the question here.

I can experience the "burn" at higher reps/lower weights, but I thought that I needed to keep the reps to where I fail at 8-12 in order to achieve the greatest gains.

PS I'm bulking, not cutting & I train each body part once a week.

Don't judge your results on the burn, soreness, fatigue.. Judge your results on, well, results. If you want to gain muscle, then get a bf% caliper and see if you're gaining muscle. If you want to get stronger, track your numbers. Don't worry about everything in between, unless it isn't working.
