Muscle Dementia

I am very curious about stretching muscles and how muscles shorten after an exercise and require a massage to lengthen them or a stretch.

I believe this may be a stupid question but, I was wondering how this process works, I mean, recently I just learnt that, muscles need to be stretched after an exercise to prevent these muscles from becoming deformed, because muscles tense up and shorten after an exercise.

I watch T.V and always notice people with bulky muscles and wonder, is that a sign of muscle dementia or is that how it should look like after an exercise, I mean, for me, I want muscles to look in its most natural state and thus I always stretch after and before a weighted or any kind of exercise to prevent any of these muscle dementia's.

so i guess my main question is, if I were to always stretch before and after an exercise and always have a massage as well to lengthen the muscles so it would be in its MOST natural and state so the striations are going in its original direction, would my muscles still bulk up?

Natural state or bulk up? So you want a small muscle belly? Is that what you're saying?

I have absolutely no expertise or knowledge regarding the question, but if you have the opportunity and time to get a massage after every workout, then I need to get the number for your massage therapist. Only had one massage in my life, and I savor the memory...not even a happy ending and I loved it!

When I'm done with a workout, about the only thing I can do is lay on the hard floor for about 10 minutes.

Theres an optimal length for muscle power.
However where did you get this muscle dementia thing from, sounds a bit dodgy to me...

ok sorry, I realised just last night that, I wasn't being specific with "bulky", as it is very vein, when i said bulky I was refering to the curves in the muscles, or what some people would call "bumps".

Now i got this information about muscle dementia from tafe, and maybe its just my explanation being a little confusing, so i hope what i just mentioned above helps a bit.

And, when i say dementia i mean, the striations in the muscles are no longer straight or natural after an exercise without a massage to force is back into its natural direction.
