mr. not so much away from keyboard lately

Hello!

As always I've also got a question. It seems I'm mixing things up with my BF measurement. Following the 9-site Parillo (more or less) I got about 23%, following the instructions that came with my caliper I got about 12.5% or so.. I wonder what I did wrong? I don't think it's that complicated.. and I don't really know how one looks with how much body fat, but I feel I don't have as much as 23%.. or could it be? I was measuring skinfolds in the different areas.. getting an average of 12 or so - summed it up - divided by my weight and multiplied with 27. Humm.
I'd love to get rid of that fat.. and I'd love to be able to avoid calory counting. ;)
Actually.. is there anyone that strictly refuses to count AND has success? Just curious.

From the look of it, I'd say there's no way you've got 23% body fat. The 12.5% figure is probably closer to accurate.

12.5 for sure.....and when it comes to calipers, we're taught (in hk) that it is quite possible for an inexperienced person to have HUGE variations in their #'s.

practice makes perfect eh?

but yeah....12.5....and counting cals is the only way that works for me. Well, I dont strictly count em, I just keep a mental estimate of how much I've eaten. If you keep control of your portion sizes when eating meals, you should do fine....eat 5-6 times a day, but don't eat too much each time

I'll certainly give it another try since it promises more accurate results. I'm sure I didn't do it exactly as I'm supposed to. I looked so nicely dorky trying to use the caliper between my spine and my shoulder blade and reading the measurment in the mirror at the same time ;)
I'll probably ask someone for help the next time.
Would it be even better to divide your food intake over the whole day, like eating every hour? Or is 5-6 times a day just perfect? I mean.. you'd need to make eating your profession.. just theoretically.

Here are some recent pictures... I need to get a camera. You don't see anything on my webcam unless you point the desk light directly at yourself... believe me or not, I have a bit of a tan :D
I managed to reduce my BF a little, but I'm pretty happy that there are changes at all since I hit a plateau a month ago. I broke through by adjusting my diet (ate a little too much) and doing more strength training instead of so much cardio (as somebody suggested.. I find it pretty weird but it is as it is).
My goal is to reduce my BF a little more so that I look more defined. Until now I didn't use any supplements at all.. are there any you would seriously encourage me to use? ;)

hey,

since so many ppl decided to update their pictures lately I thought I might do so as well.. therefore.... *click click* .. fresh ones officially attached now.
I think I have cut a tiny little more since the end of May when I posted my last ones, but the biggest difference is probably the lighting since I played around with my webcam and figured out a way that allows me to do pictures without needing to use the floodlight anymore ;)

I've been trying to maintain my weight and staying fit lately.. I think I managed. I thought of bulking a little after summer but I'm not entirely sure because I want to stay quick and agile for playing football (soccer), dancing etc.
Well. Still got a month :)
Suggestions are welcome!

Thank you for the compliment.

In the end it was YOU who put in all the hard time in achieving your goals and that my friend, is VERY admirable.

:)

Thanks a lot guys! This is so encouraging..
It looks like I'll go to Canada visiting one of my best friends in Aug & Sept. She's health concious and into fitness, but just not as much. I figure I won't be able to keep up my current lifestyle (especially nutrition, she's vegetarian). I'll try my best, naturally, but I'm curious how it will affect me. I'll put up some new pictures in Oct.
Well again, thanks for everything. This place, you all helped me so much.
