There is a HUGE difference between the WHOLE CONTINENT and Asian culture specifically. I have many Asian friends and they are NOT oriental. They are Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian and Filipino. If I called one of my friends an "Oriential" they wouldn't be happy with me. They would tell me that they aren't rugs.
You wouldn't call an Indian Asian, you wouldn't call a Russian Asian, you wouldn't call an Iranian and Asian. That's not what they are. Asian is people of Asian decent, the people we are talking about. If I was gonna tell you about a Russian I wouldn't say, "This Oriental . . . " cause it makes no sense. He's not "Oriental" He's effin Russian!
I'm not European (I'm Irish, Italian, Polish, Portuguse), I'm not Oriental (I'm Israeli), and I'm not Indian cause the Cherokee people aren't Indians. We're Native americans. Yeah a bit on the PC side, which is not normal for me, I'm extremely un-PC, but when you are talking about people you need to talk about them in the right manner. Same goes for talking about cultures.

I'll bet a Lamborghini LP640 that the cigarette gets put out 99 times out of 99. Gasoline is liquid, the fumes are more flammable than the liquid itself. Yes the liquid will burn, but the fumes must catch first. If you throw a flaming torch into the gas it will ignite.
It is *possible* based ONLY on the fact that the cherry is gauged at the temp that gas and/or it's fumes catches fire at, BUT, it is only that temp when you are taking a drag of the cigarette (actually, just a hair below that temp), not while the cigarette is resting in your hand or falling to the ground, i.e. you can light a cigarette take one drag, put it in an ashtray and seeing as there is no fan blowing on it, it will put itself out. I've done it in pool halls many times.

This is a video some random guy made of himself dropping a cigarette into a glass jar with gas in it. Watch what happens.
The plausability of this is ONLY in theory. If you can make it happen and show me proof, I'll believe it, but beyond theory, it hasn't been done. The 80s had terrible ma movies. They are fun to watch, but also painful at the same time. They contain mostly roundhouse kicks and terrible acting. At least modern ma movies have some semblence of acting skill.
Tony Jaa is probably the greatest ma actor of all time. Ong Bak, Tom Yung Goong (The Protector in America) are absolutly incredible. Tony Jaa did every single stunt by himself, without cables or computer help.

They talked about that in the special features on one of the two DVD's. They said he would watch Jackie Chan and think he was doing all this stuff on his own and wanted to do the same. So with training he did just that. By far, best MA actor.
There is a new Thai actress said to be 10x better than Jaa Parnom. I am unsure of her name, but she is staring in a movie soon to be released in Thailand. The locals were going crazy about her while I was there. She 19 years old. Going to be great.
I highlighted the reasons why she will be better than Jaa.

Uhmm, no there isn't....
Khun Parnom is now out of shape which is not thinking about his career too much, but there isn't any chick who is better (martial arts wise) though there are a lot of super hot chicks who can do reasonably good moves here (I live in Thailand and work in the industry).
The latest sensation here is Daniel O'Neil (ex-Hong Kong (yes Jackie Chan)) and some of his stuff can be seen at:
The industry here has been VERY quiet there is not a lot going on so don't expect a lot over the next 12 months from Thailand except Som Tam and Bangkok Adrenaline.
And of course Bangkok Dangerous starring Nicholas Cage which was filmed here but not by a local company.

They are filming Ong Bak 2 at the moment but he hasn't done anything for a while except at TV commercial for a car company
Ong bak was a good movie but that one he did not long ago about the elephants had good fights but the story sucks ballz so bad and it was really cheesy. They need to make some quality movies with this guy
It's called "Chocolate" and comes out in Thailand on Chinese New Year.
Its called Chocolate because the girl always eats chocolate while she watches ma on TV. She learns how to fight by watching the actors fight and fights her "fathers" gangster friends.
I didn't know the story line but the production company is baa ram ewe and the Director worked with us on Som Tam:
Though I take it back the fighting looks pretty good and she can do the moves that the Director/Fight Choreographer want it should be good action.
There are always 'new' action stars coming out here but most last a movie or two - hopefully this movie is a hit and makes money.....
.... then Baa Ram Ewe might see their way to paying me, since it is already 6 months overdue.... and the stuntmen you see in the Chocolate trailer risking their lives... got sent home December with no pay and no christmas bonus (which is customary in Thailand) contract severed.

The end shows all the injuries the stuntmen received while filming the movie.... Conan was definatly right.. they definatly are risking their lives.
I dont see how a movie company sending home all its stuntmen without paying them properly is good for business. It will just build a horific reputation. Who will want to rish their lives and film a movie for them, if there isn't a guarantee of pay?
