More stuff I've wondered...

Okay, say someone trained for hyp and met their goals and was ready to cut, could they while on a calorie defecit and doing cardio(jogging/HIIT) to lose the fat they gained while bulking lift for strength to maintain their muscle gains and get stronger at the same time or would they still have to lift for hyp while on a defecit to maintain mass?Basically what I'm trying to ask is would lifting for strength maintain the mass one has gained while they are cutting?

in short yes.:)

^^^yes but one would have to lift hard to minimize the losses right? one who lifted for strength to minimize muscle loss would also get stronger right? The calorie deficit doesn't affect strength gains because thats more of a neural thing right?

Calric deficit does affect strength gains. When you lift for strength you don't experiencem uscle loss becuase you should definitley have a caloric surplus.

A calorie is a unit of energy and the nutrients within those units of energy also play a role.

Deficit dieting can effect strength and/or muscle gains or losses. Deficit dieting is not neutral to strength nor muscle growth. However there are ways one can manipulate the calories to minimize losses when deficit dieting: which is a different subject.

I see, thank you sirs for clearing it up for me.Now for another, does protein help just as much with strength as it does hyp i.e. muscle repair?
