2nd journal entry...

Today is Sunday Dec 11th... I have not been keeping everything recorded here because I do not get online all that often but I have started carrying around a little notebook to help me keep track off my food intake and my physical activity. So far I have been doing pretty well I think. I have not really changed what I eat just how much and been trying to incorporate more exercise. On Friday I went to a holiday party and although there was tons of great food I mean we are talking ham, turkey , pulled pork, and the trimmings plus a half a table of treats cookies, cobblers etc.. I only had one small plate and treated myself with one pop tart instead of having dessert.

I set some objectives starting this week they are as follows...

1. Drink more water - I usually do not drink water unless I am either sick or really thirsty but I know water is beneficial for weight loss, to flush toxins from the body and helps skin look better so I need to drink up!

2. Daily Exercise - I am not going to set unrealistic goals and push myself too hard but some jumping jacks , some crunches , and some pilates/yoga everyday is a good start...as I get in better shape I can go for more intense workouts.

3. Cut back on starchy foods - I eat way too much bread and too many potatoes. I am not going to cut these out completely but I am going to cut back.

4. Keep stress levels down - Stress leads to overeating and to that sluggish feeling so I got to find postive ways to reduce stress like painting, meditation/reflection, prayer etc..

5. Stay motivated - I plan to make a list of motivational thoughts and things I look foreward to once the weight is off and look at the list wehn I feel tempted or discouraged.

That's it for now. Will post again a.s.a.p.:D

Portion control sounds like a great weightloss method for you! I do something similar myself.

Do you happen to have some paintings scanned or photographed so that we can take a look-see? I paint too (though not nearly as often as I'd like), its good to know that there's another person on the board that has artistic tendancies :D

Hello Moonkat! I like your style. You really seem to mean business! I look forward to seeing you reach your goals. You can do it. I loved how you are making a lifestyle change versus doing the diet thing. I wish I were that strong. If you need some support and a friend around here, keep in touch and I'll do the same. ~MJ
