MoonGoddess's Path

Argh.... so I guess the party is over. Not that I really partied down but taking a day off work & spending some time with the man & family was very nice. I really didn't want to head back into the office today...but its the day to do payroll & since I & everyone else here wants & needs that paycheck...it had to be done.

That birthday cake blew it for this weeks challenge for me. Sucks but I have to say it was kinda ok with me. I loved it & since it was in place of a meal I don't feel so bad.

But time to get back on track... start of the new week. I realized that this morning I have less than two weeks before my sister walks down the aisle. Think I can get a killer tan & lose 30 pounds by then? :)

killer tan - yes
30lbs in 2 weeks? well -not if you want to walk down the aisle... :( but you're still gonna look DYN-O-MITE for the wedding and might just upstage the bride in your glamorous dress and shiny personality :)

Have yourself a great post birthday day :D

You'll be fine for the wedding. A great tan will make you look about 10 lbs slimmer, by it's self. So Now just some good old self confidence and you've got it made. You will look beautful for the big day. In the mean time have a great day today!!;)

Its ok that you ate the bday cake. Its really hard. My family keeps making apple pies and nacho's. And I look at them in envy. ahaha. I hope today goes better for you!

Howdy Moon,
Don't sweat the cake sometimes we need to try a lil something or we could go crazy lol! I was tanning in the summer and I swear it does make ya look slimmer plus I likeit better than the pale dead look that I have going for me.Your doing great and I hope you have a nice day Tammy

I dont think you should count eating birthday cake as a bad thing on your birthday. Meaning, you don't have to consider it a challenge blower. That's not fair!!! lol

I think you can get a killer tan by then. I get the spray on tans, they work awesome! Just be careful with the barrier cream. Have your sis go with you to help you after you come out to blend and catch any runs of the spray if any. Usually they work great, but if you get a wack sprayer they can leave concentrated areas.

The 30lbs might be hard to do. If you get desperate, you can always do a juice fast. I was so stressed out before my sisters wedding, trying to squeeze into my dress. I barely did!! whew.

HI EVERYONE! :)

Sorry I have been neglecting the diary lately. I feel like I am in overdrive in the last minute BS of this week before the wedding. Top it all off my sister has a kidney infection! She is not REALLY being a bridezilla & now I kinda feel sorry for her.

This no junk food, soda, or fast food challenge has been WAY harder than I ever thought it would be. Seems a real hot spot on my diet. Like today I ALMOST did it, but I absent mindedly grabbed a Dr Pepper after a stressful meeting as I was about to go into another one feeling pooped. I wanted the caffeine & it was an easy quick grab.

Weddings are crazy and stressful, and this week's challenge is probably the hardest one yet. Don't beat yourself up over it. At least a Dr. P is better than a big brownie or something.:D

Enjoy the wedding and enjoy this very special day for your sister. I put my sister to work the day of (thanks MissJellyBelly)...hahaha...I actually gave her a "to do" list so that she wouldn't forget. Be prepared to support her in all ways possible :) You just never know what might come up that day!

Sorry to hear that she is ill...hopefully she can throw back some cranberry juice and extra fluids to knock it out in time to enjoy her day. Have fun and don't pass on the wedding days goodies!! One day of drinking and eating cake won't hurt.

I love Diet Dr.P...it's one of the few sodas that actually doesn't taste like straight chemicals. LOL

What is it about getting your hair done that makes you want to just strut? I can almost hear some funky ozomatli playing in my head! I spent a few therapeutic hours getting my hair colored & cut, then ended up tanning for a bit. Just washed away all the stress of life. I swear its so nice to pamper yourself.

Normally I would be starving if I hadn't snacked but I didn't eat a big lunch & didn't do the normal 3pm snack.. Its 6:15 now & I'm not even hungry. I will eat something before I end up being starving & eating anything & everything in site, but there is something to be said for ME time.

So I am sucking lately... there is just too much going on to focus on anything. I am craving fast food & its way to easy to give in. Less dishes, its already cooked. I am VERY bad....

Why do I end up doing this? I get on track & then BAM... I slip back into the not so great patterns. I really hope that next week things get easier. The wedding insanity will be over & I will have had a week away from the stress of work. I know alot of this is stress & dealing with old patterns that family tends to bring on, but I just hope one day to be strong that all that. no let anyone get to me. not to let me sabotage my own efforts.

Awww, I'm sorry hun ((Hugs)) I TOTALLY know what you mean!! I've been there a hundred times before. All you can do is just pick up, dust yourself off and keep going!!!

I'm here for you!! PM me if you want!

I know what you mean MG. Weddings are extremely stressful. Just try to keep as focused as possible and don't let the stress make you run through a drive thru. Fast food is filled with salt and carbs that will just make you bloated and retain water...you don't want to feel like that do ya? Try to think about how good you would feel if you make the healthier choice versus the devil drive thru. If you have healthier options nearby go there instead. When I want fast food but don't want to feel like crap afterwards I usually go to Togo's and grab a sandwich w/out mayo...that helps me manage time crunches and not fall totally off the wagon :) And the key to avoiding drive thrus is to not let yourself get to the starving stage...no one thinks straight when they are beyond hungry! Keep some healthy snacks with you this week to munch on.

What is the bridesmaid dress like? Is it forgiving around the mid section? Can you eat and be comfortable in it? If yes, then don't beat yourself up too much this week. Do the best you can and know that next week will return to normal. Have a great week!

I survived! Lotsa family, Lotsa chaos, & of course lots of rich, yummy food! I thought I was doing good with not eating a ton, but the scale says 181.2 lbs today so I guess I went up some. Hope it falls off really soon.

She was happy as she could be & there were not real oh no moments other than I almost passed out while standing up on the stage with her... just nerves I guess. Glad I didn't cuz I know someone would have submitted it to americas funniest home videos or something & I would NEVER have lived it down. I got lucky & there was a bench RIGHT beside me so I just leaned on it & no one knew I was dizzy! :)

Also I got lots of funny looks from relatives & they were acting strange... finally I got a glimpse of the program & she had me listed as MATRON of honor instead of MAID, so some of the more gossipy of the bunch were starting all kindsa crap wondering when I had gotten married & why they hadn't heard about it & why I wasn't wearing a ring... then who was the guy I was with (who looked amazing in his blue fancy UMSC uniform!). Gotta love small towns sometimes... which is why I moved!

Here are a couple of pics... course in all the chaos I didn't get a good one of me with the full view of the dress, but you will get the idea...

I AM SOOOOO GLAD its all over!!!

There was one point where I got kinda sad that I didn't reach my goal of losing more by then, but then I realized that its no reason to stop & I can lose it before anyone else ends up getting married. I am doing this for my health not just the way I looked in the wedding pics. Besides now I can have these pictures as a reminder of how much I lost later.... hopefully. I just want to get to a point where I like what I see in the mirror & my doctor likes the number in my medical file! I want to be healthy.
