MoonGoddess's Path

Congrats on the weightloss and the exercise!
About 7 years ago I injured my back, didn't realize it and went on doing stuff, which led to the originally small back injury not healing well. I ended up not being able to sit or move at all and actually had to spend some time in hospital for that. All the little muscles near my backbone were as tight as they could be, trying to hinder the injury area from moving. After weeks of muscle relaxants and painkillers the acute phase eased, but after that I needed to get my back muscles rehabilitated. That I managed to do by walking. Even now when I don't walk enough, my back immediately tells me so.
This story in itself has nothing to do with your situation, but I think there might be two points that you might want to consider. First, it's important to get that pain of yours checked out, especially if it's something back bone related. I fell, hurt one vertebra, strained it so that it got infected and got myself a probably lifelong problem with my back. So, if the pain doesn't go away in two weeks at the most, you might want to avoid this by getting it checked. Second, if it's just muscle spasm thing, the walking (which I guess you're already doing for the challenge) might help you recover.
This is often just a cliché, but this time I can tell you very honestly, I feel your pain. I hope it passes real soon, but if it doesn't, don't make my mistake, learn from it...
To end on a brighter note, your spirits seem to be rising, so maybe the back pain will not reappear. Well done with the water and hope you get a totally painless day today!

I'm feeling really lazy after a stressful day babysitting morons at work today & listening to my boss bitch about whatever it is up her tush today... she needs a life BIG TIME. But now I am home & enjoying last night's episode of Medium listening to the light rain dance around on the leaves of the rose bush outside my window. Days like this just make me comfy & relaxed. Temperture is nice enough to open the windows, rain makes everything all shiny & calm & peaceful.

Now this is the goddess i know and have missed:):D:)
Im sorry your having a hard time on and off - you will start feeling better and you will get back into exercise and loosing mode:):D:)

Random Female Pondering Of The Day

So with all this back stuff going on, I have really noticed how much things weigh. Things you typically don't really think about like the weight of a gallon of water, or how much wet hair weighs compared with dry hair...plus add in the towel...

Anyway it hit me, ever wonder how much boobs really do weigh? & how the heck could you weigh them anyway... Sure would like to take mine off right about now. lol

I guess its not exactly the weight I want to lose really, but all this weigh thought just got me thinking.

Almost. Just trying to get back into the swing of training. Been a bit too much for me physically at the moment, but soon I will get back on track & go further than ever. Right now the 13.1 miles would kill me.

So I have found my next get up & goooo soundtrack. Just popped in the new Ozomatli Don't mess with the dragon Cd & it rocks. Made me want to dance around the house. No I didn't get too crazy... trying to let the back heal rather than knock it any further out of whack. lol But it did make me wiggle my ass a bit while making a new batch of candles. (the are making me want to eat some creme brulee though! They are creme brulee scented tinted violet just because I could!)

Thanks for the fiber tip! I don't want to be blowing hot air all week, so I will take it easy. I bought apples and broccoli to ease into it.

Thanks for the support about the ciggs. Non smokers don't understand the pain you go through to quit! I feel like I'm going to start climbing the walls.

Congrats on the weight loss! I have SUCH a hard time drinking all of my water. I've really got to work on it. I saw that you make candles! Very cool...I make my own soap sometimes. I've thought about doing the candle making thing as well.

If you can do soap, you can do candles. I over did it on the soap for a while, so I haven't made any in a few years. Still have plenty to go through, plus I get free samples at work which keep me clean.

I'm so ready to lose the rest of this weight... I was almost in the 180s before, so that is where I want to be again....then of course the 170s...160s...etc.

I was really bad today... I didn't like the looks of the hot bar today (greek pasta just wasn't anything i was craving) & the thought of a salad didnt work either. I ended up getting some cherries (we just got them in) & a box of organic triscuit. type wheat cracker & a cube of BRIE! Ug. afterward I felt like a big ball of wheatycheese... it was good but I have a feeling not the best choice. At least I didn't just go to a drive thru like I almost did. But still... got the fiber in...but I think the cheese cancels it out.

Oh well.. dinner I will be better.

Just saw a news blurb on a new testing tool to detect cervical cancer. Looks like a cool new procedure if you have to go through it... what pissed me off is the "professional" explaining how it all works talked about how its "the 2nd leading cause of cancer in women & that anyone who is sexually active or smokes should be tested yearly".

So basically its the smoking & sex that screws it all up "down there"!?! This is news to me. I didn't know cancer was exclusive for "bad" girls... riiiiight. My understanding is that cancer can strike no matter how experienced you are or if you smoke. What kinda advice is that? So if I don't smoke & don't have sex, I'm good to go & don't have to worry about anything. Grr.

Not sure why that bugged me but it sure did.

Hey, girl! I looked at your piccies from your friend's wedding and you are soooo pretty! Seriously...I can't wait to be your size! Ummm...where do you work where you get free samples of soap? I'm so curious now!

Hey Chica!!

Just read some of your last posts and wanted to respond. I think our boobs wiegh a lot. Sometimes when I get on the scale, I try to hold them with my hands to take the weight off to see if that makes my numbers different. lol I can't wait till these bad girls get smaller.

Speaking of bad girls. That's interesting news about cervical cancer. I'm on day 3 of quitting smoking, so hopefully I can avoid some of the risk. No sex?? I guess that gives me another reason to say "No!" The next guy who tries, I might have to tell him that I can't because I don't want him to give me cancer. lol I wonder how he'd react?

I don't think a little brie with your crackers is that bad. I hear calcium helps speed weight loss, though I can't remember my sources. Plus think of strong bones and teeth. lol There is a bright side. I guess I'm a cheese lover. Had me a stick of cheddar last night.

Anyhow, I am beginning to ramble. I hope you have a great day!!!

Thanks Donia.. you are too sweet. I can't wait til we are both at a healthier size whatever that may be for us. I know this one isn't good for my 5'4" height. Ready to get that BMI down some. Plus I live in a beach college town... these stick barbies make me feel like a manatee!

Oh & I work at a health food store. We have vendors trying to get us to bring in their products all the time & so that sometimes means free samples. Sometimes its one of those you get what you pay for deals. Just stinks sometimes to say I work at a health food store & am overweight. Some people don't understand. I do have an office job (Administrative Director is the title of the moment although I'm convinced its a nice way of saying the boss's henchman & brain when she doesn't feel like making a decision!).

Good call on the calcium in the Brie there missjellybelly! That makes me feel slightly better for finishing it off as lunch again today. Same deal cherries, brie, & the crackers. Could be worse... I'm guzzling water like a champ still.

As for that report.. I'm good as far as no sex & smoking at the moment, just kills me to think that she gave the impression that anyone who gets cancer has done something to get it. Cancer is so many different types of diseases that she can't say that. Its a mutation of cells. .. for various reasons. Guess I am just sensitive since so many people have cancer & if its detected early it can save lives. I think we all with uteruses need the annual test.

So today I feel like myself again! No pain last night or today so far!!! I'm loving it. Makes me want to dance. Unfortunately my office mates might think I'm insane for real if I started that up. So I guess I will continue working (or checking this forum in breaks) & then I have to go get dog food after work which will be the real test to see if I am ok. Still thinking I might just get the smaller bag rather than push it lifting the regular BIG OLE bag.... who knows.

Dance baby, dance!!! hehe

I used to dance at work all the time, before I lost my spark. lol

Thanks for your support. You are just too cute and put a smile on my face.

That's cool you work at a health food store, you get to see all the latest crazes I bet.

WOrk it today girlfriend!!! Let's bring sexy back...

I see all kindas crap working here! Its insane sometimes.

But it can be cool. Like just now we got in a new flavor of Vitamin water I can't wait to try... called triple X. "Vitaminwater XXX is named for its “triple antioxidants” formula, which specifically refers to the acai, blueberry, and pomegranate flavors". Sounds pretty cool!

Interesting!!

I have been experimenting with the organic raw apple cider vinegar in my dressings. I read that it was a secret of the ancient egyptians.

Anyhow, I'm putting it in my italian dressing and I think it's helping!! I'll eat some today to test my theory.

Do you sell Hoodia there? Do you hear if people actually feel less hungry? My sis bought some and it's in the fridge, but I keep turning my nose up at it. I wonder if I should take it.... hmmm

Well legally we can't give advice or prescribe products so I'm no expert (plus I work in the office & there fore don't have to clutter my mind too much with the lastest fads).

The hoodia has been selling for a while now. I'm not sure about my opinion on it. Some swear by it, some say its junk. I have avoided it simply because I would rather put that money to other things & I would rather not become dependent on any supplement.

If you are interested in natural products you should check out Prescription for Nutritional Healing by Phyllis Balch & James Balch. It basically the bible around here & what we direct all customers to with questions about certain products.

Another tip on the vinegar note... cool trick to see if you are getting what you pay for vitamin wise.... see if the capsule, tablet whatever will dissolve within 20-30 minutes in the vinegar. if not it probably will not dissolve in your body either which means you are throwing money down the toilet. Its one reason why some supplements cost a lil more than the discount store brand.

Howdy Moon,
Haven't stopped by in a while so I was now to say hi!!
Flavored vitaman water we have some brand at my local grocery, the
colors look so pretty to where I am afraid that it may taste like
blah...They make a diet coke that has vitamans,I am not a pop
drinker but looked interesting.Your doing good and I love dancing
to my own music my own funny shake your booty kind of way lol.
Tammy

LOL. I understand the legalities of our times. You're right, who needs fad pills to lose weight!! Not me, just some good ol fashion committment.

Great tip about pills disolving. What a great way to test them. I've had some pills that I kept too long and since I paid to much I don't want to toss them. I think I'll give them the vinegar test to see what happens. Maybe they are petrified by now and won't dissolve a bit. lol

Thanks for the Balch reference, I'm going to go check it out.

Hi there,
I have a short comment on the cervical cancer thing. If the person who was talking about it didn't mention what the risk factor in having sex is, he/she was totally stupid. It's a good piece of information to have, so here goes: sexually transmitted human papilloma virus is considered to be one of the main causes for cervical cell mutations which in turn develop into cancer. Papilloma can be avoided in the same way as the other st viruses. Condom, steady partner, you know the drill. So it's definitely not the sex that causes the cancer.
Here all women are tested every 5 years. When they find the first cell mutations, there's still time to prevent them turning into cancer. Get tested, people, if you have the chance. The test doesn't hurt and it might once save your life...
I'm glad to hear that your back's painless! :)
