MoonGoddess's Path

That's a great idea Mal!! i have been conserving water for a while now. The husband and i always shower together when possible. And I'll admit that's pretty often!!:D

It finally is starting to feel like fall around my place... nope the air temp hasn't dropped (at the moment its a muggy 76 degrees at 11:30am....but it could always be worse!) but I got out the costumes (just in time for the Halloween challenge bonus!) & carved a pumpkin. Tried to roast the seeds, but I think I over cooked them. Still good, but not as good as the could be.

I'm kinda bummed since I really have no desire to workout anymore. I will but I don't have the push. Maybe its the monday mornings & my boss already having been a f*ckwit this morning & that I have a board meeting tonight that I have no interest in attending.... I just am thinking.. & I am supposed to workout too? Might have to be a rest day for me... or as I should more correctly call it a lazy day.

& that frickin blow up punching bag is a work out & a half in pumping the foot air pump. Its not even half full. I thought about doing the old breath method, but I started getting dizzy from exhaling more than inhaling & just gave up for the time being. I have got to find a motorized air pump! :) yeah...I'm lazy.

Ok so I just heard a download on weight loss that used the analogy of a checkbook for the calories. It made the point of you always keep track of what is going in & out to make sure that your finances are in balance, so why is it foreign to most people that they would need to count calories? & why its so hard to see calories in need to equal or be less than calories out.

Also talked about how 80-90% of weight loss is all in how you eat. That exercising is a tool but it can't be the only part. Gave the statistic of to loss a pound a week you would have to walk 35 miles in that week! Egad!

Exactly... its sorta depressing.

I mean I knew the days of eating whatever I wanted were over, but this really pounded that fact home.

...way to fit exercise into a slammed packed day.... skip the board meeting. Not like they pay me to sit through those things anyway!

there will probably be hell to pay tomorrow but I don't care. I'm so sick of whiny people bitching about stuff they themselves don't have the guts or initiative to act on to change. I would rather watch last nights episode of Dexter.

So the morning news greeted me with a URGE for all households to cut water usage by 50%.... my first thought was how the hell can I do that? Stop drinking water?

I already don't water my lawn, wash the car, I have started watering my plants with old dog water when I refill his bowl with fresh stuff. What next? Do I have to save all bath water to flush the toilet with? (Its been done when the hurricanes knocked out the power.... one reason they always tell you to fill up a bathtub or something! Trust you want to flush! especially when their is no fan or air conditioning to circulate the air.)

I'm so ready for a thunderstorm. Preferably on a weekend day when I can stay home & relax listening to the rain fall & then dance around it in in my backyard for a change! I miss rain.

Wow I am sorry you nare having to go through that. I'll try to remember to pray for rain for you!!;) Other than that I hope things are going good for you!!:hug2:

Is this usual for th season? california is i their fire season now, so - hey they should be used to it - are droughts that common for you?

you can cut the toilet flushing water a lot by putting some bottles or bricks i the tank so that the tank fills up less...

We typically have a lot of rain during this time of year. Usually a tropical storm or hurricane has come by to dump at least a few inches by now.

I think the deficit is at around 21 inches. There is talk of thunderstorms today or maybe tomorrow. we shall see... currently I see blue skies & sunshine. Its already 80 degrees & its only 9:48AM! Ug.

how sad is it that blue skies and sunshine are bad news..

go into the back yard tonite, put out some flashlights (bonfires woul be bad) and then do a naked rain dance around the flashlights :)

No kidding!

Its is a sad day when we are dreading blue skies. Some of the other who work here were just talking about going out to do a rain dance.

Too bad my backyard is only about 5 feet. If I were to dance naked my neighbors would call the cops. As it stands I have to make sure that my bedroom window blind stays down or they get a nice view in to watch me sleep, dress, & everything else! I guess there are are few drawbacks of living in the city.

That sucks about the drought. My H's hometown is Melbourne, Australia, and they've been on stage 3 and 4 water restrictions for a few years now. At one point the reservoirs got down to 27%. There is no end in sight to the restrictions. They've had a 10yr drought so far.

So we actually got some rain last night & I loved listening to it when I woke up through the night. I wanted to go play in it, but since that would involve getting out of bed, then getting dry clothes, I passed & just enjoyed the plip plop of the rain drops & the low grumbling of thunder. Ended up getting like an inch & a half.

Might rain again today, but its cleared up for the most part.

I am already feeling the pull of the Halloween candy bowl. We stocked up night before last for all the trick or treaters & of course the boy had to open up a couple of the bags. Now I am drawn to the lil reese's cups & smarties! Ug. Will be a practice in self control over the next week.... but I do love this time of year.
