My first entry in my first ever weight loss journal. I guess that is progress.

The basics about me: :D

I'm a 32 year old female, live in the lower peninsula of Michigan, not married but have three beautiful cats. I live in the country, love to landscape and work outside. I also love to run and play sports. I have a great career, but unfortunately, I am sitting on my rear end 12 hours a day. I love the aspect of my career but go crazy sitting for so long. :(

I have battled my weight most of my life. I was usually about 20-60 lbs over weight at any given time so maintaing a healthy weight is a constant struggle once I reach it. It was easy in school because I was in sports and didnt sit on my rear all day. Now I go from sitting/sleeping to rigorous excersize on my days off and that cant be healthy either.

I am 5'7 1/2" and 165 lbs. My lightest weight was 135, 10 years ago and running 40 miles per week. I want to be 145 lbs. Its only 20 lbs away and for some reason I lack motivation to eat better right now. I am excersizing relatively consistant but eating too much. I'm probably eating 2,000 to 2,500 calories on any given day. For months I was extremely motivated, eating 1200 calories and excersizing at 5am before work. Now I excersize on my days off (3-5 days a week depending on the week) and eat not so good.

I'm looking for that one thing that usually opens my eyes to reality and kicks me into gear. Unfortunately that one thing seems to be different every time...its just a matter of finding it. I know that it would only take 3-4 months to get to my goal weight...and once you get started, eating healthy isnt hard to do! So if anyone has any really good motivators, please advise. In the meantime I will continue to read as much on this site as possible and hope that I will come across something that triggers my motivation button.

Thanks for all the support you all offer and I hope you all find it in return! :)

Motivators huh...it sounds like you've taken a few steps of your own already which shows me that you are motivated. If you mean that you want someone to kick your butt into gear and check up on you everyday to see how you're doing---well, you've come to the right forum.

Now throw away all that nasty food and get to running! It's only twenty pounds---you can do this!!!

kick in the rear would be nice

yep, I need to be held accountable for probably 2-3 days. Once I get re-established I can usually fly solo. For instance, right now, I just confirmed to the world that Ive had a drop in motivation and the first thing I do is go get a couple bite size candy bars. I didnt even think twice about it!
