Miss Ladybugs Diary

That sounds cheap for NY standards. I'm used to lots of noise, so I'll stay in any location that you prefer, though its good to have a pool so we can relax outside. My only request is that the hotels be sort of recently renovated if at all possible. I'm not fond of staying in places with grungy carpets and nasty bathrooms. And you'd be surprised at how many supposedly swanky hotels are nasty when they haven't been renovated for a while (I've been in a really nasty Hilton). I stayed at an All Suites with my family in FL last year when my sis was looking for a house. First we got a suite and it was just nasty, an old bathroom, old gross dusty couches and wall paper, and it just smelled so incredibly musty. We asked for another room and our stay was transformed into a nice, clean luxurious stay as we got one of the newly renovated rooms. It made such a huge difference. After staying in hotels so many times last year to deal with my condo issues in FL, I've gotten quite hip to asking the hotel about the timing of their last renovation. Next time I visit my sis in June I'm taking us to a hotel on the beach for a few nights and when I researched the hotels, I read tons of reviews and they always hinged on whether or not the hotel had been recently renovated. Actually, try reading some of the hotel reviews for a good laugh. It was hilarious hearing some of the travelers' hotel horror stories and hearing tales of little annoyances, sometimes from the second they set foot in the hotel.

P.S. I also prefer 2 people to a bathroom.

Well with a 4 hour car trip we would certainly get comfortable with each other by the time we arrived at the hotel .

MLB, I still cannot believe you lost 5 lbs in one week after all these plateaus over the past several months. What in the world did you do differently than usual?! I know you described your plan but what did you change? How many calories do you think you were eating? I'm just so happy for you girl :).

WTG Ms LB! :cheers2:

So for the no bread or pasta thing did you eat any grains at all (like cereal or brown rice?) Whatever you did it sounds like it's just what your body needed.

I'm with Claudia on the rooms. I'm a bit of a clean freak and would like something a little newer, or at least with tile so we won't have to walk around on dirty carpet. You've seen those specials on TV where they take the black light into the rooms and it shows all the gross shit on the floors, walls and even ceilings.

There isn't a Holiday Inn on the island by chance is there? I may be able to get a free night if there is.

I'm gonna PM all of you my personal email address and phone number so we don't have to post all the details of the trip on a public forum.

I hope your internet starts working for ya! IT looks like BB has answered the INN question for ya. lol. I hope you enjoy the Spring Open House.

CONGRAT'S!

What a fantastic loss sweetie!

It sure sounds like all the changes you made and of course all the gym time made the difference for ya. :hug2:

So proud of ya!

Have A Great Weekend.

Cita, I think I'm at roughly 1200-1500 calories a day, but no more than that. Before I was eating around 1500-1800 and it wasn't working out at all! I'm just cramming in more fresh fruit/veggies making it easier to get full, but not a lot of calories.

Oh the Spring Open house was AWESOME, my sister has never been and she spent a ton ofmoney and looked at me and said, "OH BOY" go figure!! LOL LOL I was very happy for her, as she actually bought a cute grouping to add to her living area, it will look so nice when she has it all up.

Oh thank you TX Sunshine!! I do work out a lot,but I guess my body just need a total jolt in the calorie and food department, I was eating several hundred to much so had to back down a bit, but it's all good. I guess the true test will be next week, if I continue to lose, I'll stick with it, hey anything that works is good for me, I was really getting frustrated! Hope your weekend is a good one too!
Love ya

Okay now back to the trip, I read everyones opinion on where they want to stay and frankly I'm easy! HOWEVER, Are there any B&B'S??? I'm up for paying 90.00 a night, as when my H and I travel we only stay at B&B's and it's rare to find one under 120.00 a night. And to be honest, I've never stayed in one that wasn't real nice! They are always super clean, really well maintained and well you can't beat a fresh made breakfast in the morning. And that would be great! But, honestly I'm game for any location, as long as it's clean. Just let me know!!

The lavender farm was GREAT! we got there early and I had one lavender cookie, mmm it was the size of a silver dollar. YUMMY! I had my 1C honey clusters this morning around 10:00, so that stayed with me until late afternoon when I had a very nice salad. I did cut up a few slices of cheese to have with my glass of Peach Chardonnay, but that's about it, I'm looking forward to our Brunch at the winery tomorrow, I've never been there before so I hope they have some really tasty wines. The weather today was gorgeous!! I got outside a little and pulled some weeds and filled the bird feeders with food, but it's still a little wet and muddy so I couldn't get to garden crazy. Instead I came inside, since my H was working the "Yard Dogz" indoor football downtown it takes care of the volunteers, it's a big deal here, they are a semi pro team. I stayed home and watch some great afternoon tv. "Under the Tuscan Sun" and "Must like Dogs" and Pride & Prejudice" OH MY GOSH I love those movies. I'm such a lover story kind of girl. My ALL time Favorite Love story is "FALLING IN LOVE" With Meryl Streep and Robert Deniro, AWESOME! I cry everytime! My H calls me a cry baby, because I cry during hallmark commercials.LOL LOL I can't help it. LOL LMAO!!well, I'm going to check diary's I hope your all having a great Saturday!

Oh hell yeah! I've gone and seen our AR Twisters beat your Yard Dawgs! I guess we have a bit of team rivalry here, lol! We took my SS and daughter to that game last year and I ended up spilling my entire cup of beer on Bella. What a terrible mother I am!! We kept running into people we knew and they kept asking why my 8-month-old reeked of beer. LMAO!

The lavender farm sounds lovely! I'm so glad you had a great time. I'm green with envy over the brunch this morning. I hope you enjoy!

As for the trip, I too love B&B's and am open for anything.

Your H shouldn't call you a cry baby!! I do the same damn thing. Every beautiful or sad moment in a chick flick.... I tear up. I can't help it. lol. What is a lavender cookie??? is it just colored lavender? Or does it have flowers in it?? I'm confused. But I'm glad it was a lot of fuN!!

I tend to like B & B's over hotels myself. The folks just seem more genuine and care about how comfortable and happy you are. I'm not familiar with the area, but here is a link that lists B & B's :

As far as chick flicks go, it depends on my mood. One day a movie can make me boo hoo, and the same movie on a different day won't do anything.

HEy Twin--PM me your email so i can just email all three of you some hotel info. There are no chains on the island--hotels or restaurants. They like to keep it in control of the locals..lol. Anyway--just about all the accomodation there is quite nice--as the prices prohibit the poorer folk from staying there--they usually stay in Mackinaw City or St. Ignace and then take the ferry over for the day. With the average room rate at about $200 that time of year, you can see why. Anyway--I have never seen a room there that was grungy--but getting tile floors instead of carpet will not happen. The island is Victorian themed, so be prepared for wallpaper and floral prints..lmao.

We will probably end up in a b&b or inn, b/c the hotels are a lot more expensive. Getting a pool severely narrows our choices, as most places don't have pools. But as you're on an island surrounded by freshwater, you can always go swimming there. :)

AHHH I had a MOST SUPERB weekend. The lavender cookies are not made with the flowers, they are made with ground down lavender, and they are YUMMY! apparently good for you too! They made lavender slushes too. LOL LOL everything made from "fresh grown lavender plants"

The Sunday brunch ROCKED! OH BOY, Please don't faint, but I only had ONE glass of their red wine that entire time! I'm so proud of myself. It was called "POW-WOW" and boy was it yummy. Our friends, who took us, which are actually more like parents to us, bought us the brunch, and then bought me a bottle of the pow-wow, we are like great friends! Here is what was on the menu:

Appetizer: Bruchetta/fruit
Choice of either garden salad/ or onion soup, I had the Onion soup, mmmmmm

Main course: 2 crab cakes, side of fresh sugar snap peas/carrots and a rice pilaf of some sort, very, very good. I couldn't finish my 2nd crab cake.

Dessert: small slice of cheese cake with fresh blueberries, mmm it was good and probably the worst item I ate.

I had One small cupcake that they made for my H for his birthday, and some fresh strawberries: this was several hours later, not during our brunch!

Around 7pm I had a small bowl of what I call tortilla soup, with out the tortillas, I make it from scratch, with Ranch style beans, corn, rotel and onion oh and some lean ground beef. It was probably 400 calories for my bowl.

That was it for the day and for me that was A LOT OF FOOD, but I'm back on track today and way down again on the calories, it should be another good weight loss week, or at least I hope!
Hugs
Kim

Sounds delicious! All in all, your choices were good I think. Even having desert is ok, you have to allow yourself a treat on occasion.

Glad you had a great time!

Hello!! Thank you so much!!! I hope I finally found my so called "nitch" I've been busting my tail end at the gym for months and not going anywhere on the weight loss, I guess I just need fewer calories than I was taking in before, but I guess this week will be the true test if I lose again, I'll know for sure it's working and that last week wasn't just a fluke. I sure hope I do well, but my previous challenges have not been so great, so I really want to pull through this one in a big way. Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it!! Have a good rest of your week
Kim

Your food just looks so great!! Since I started watching my diet... I've fallen in love with sugar snap peas and COD cakes. I've never had crab cakes. I'm slowly introducing myself to sea food.

Just popping my head in to check how you are doing. Thanks for comming into my diary and commenting when i needed it :)

Im doing the up and down diet due to my cycling - like you i need to eat a few less calories to loose weight, but when i race i need to eat a few more otherwise i cant perform :/

Yeah, I hear ya Wishes, It's the same for me when I really work out hard for 4 or more days a week I feel the need to add extra calories in order to keep me energized, but that seems to be the time when I lose nothing! So far I think the little lightening of my calories seems to be working again, thank gosh! I was stuck for so long with no loss but a few pounds, it was quite frustrating!

I'm very proud of myself and the way I kept my motivation up yesterday. When I came into work my boss brought in tasty bagels from "Panera Bread" You know the kind that have cheese baked in or cinnamon flavor. And of course the dreaded "cream cheese" HUH!!!!!!!~~ I fooled them all and didn't even have ONE! YEP I said no to the bagels yesterday and girls that was HARD that even though I don't really like the sweet ones, I Usually opt for at least one plain OR one Everything bagel, and I'm so happy I passed!

Then after my hour and half work out at the gym my hubby called me and said do you want to meet for dinner, of course I said "YES" and we met up at "Texas Roadhouse" it's a steak house for anyone out there that hasn't heard of it before. The keep those bucket of peanuts on your table to chow down on before you eat, and I didn't have any of those. Then they bring these awesome fresh baked rolls to your table, and girlfriends I refused those too, of course my hubby chowed down on both and he was very proud of me! For dinner I ordered "Grilled Chicken Salad" honey/mustard dressing ON THE SIDE! YEP I said on the side, and really didn't use but 1/4 of a teaspoon if that. And I asked for a side order of fresh steamed veggies, they had broccoli-cauliflower and carrots AWESOME!! And for drink I had ice tea.

I was really proud of my determination for my team this week and really trying hard to lose as much as I can, I keep looking at these great clothes in my closet that are screaming my name, I CAN'T WAIT to wear them all again!! I'm looking forward to another butt busting day today. And of course tonight is my Kickboxing class, YEAH!! I missed last Tuesday, so I can't wait!! Everyone have a great day!

Great job resisting everything that day!!! I usually have everything bagels in the mornings... but I put egg whites on them. It has in incredible amount of protein; and definitely keeps me energized through out the morning. I dread cream cheese too though. Have another excellent day today!
