The only New Year's cards I've really seen are in the real estate catalogues I constantly get. I don't think you can buy them in bulk at the store like you can Christmas/Holiday cards. But then, I've never looked for them, either.

I hope the snow heading your way is mild.

Are things pretty back to normal now?

Hmm...setting the mood for TLD with all the candles/lights in your house eh? :biggrinjester:

OH YEAH~~ I love candles and I collect them too, so everyone who knows me gives them to me often. AHHHH what's not to love about a hot bubble bath surrounded with 20 illuminating candles and a nice glass of merlot. AHHHHH, oh and if the H wants to join in, even better. LOL LOL

The weather man states it's going to be mild, but jeez his predictions change like my daily underwear, I never believe what he says until the night before. LOL Oh they say 60's for today, can you believe it?? It's CRAZY INSANE!

I'm feeling really festive today, so I'll probably take my car after work for an oil change and tire rotation, then head over for some quick shopping, I always buys some small gifts for my hubby's 12 staff members, what the hell to get them this year, NO CLUE! I have to keep it neutral, because there are half men and half women, OIY! Last year they all got these snuggly fleece throws, ahhh it was so soft, the year before that, I made up these gift bowls, you know a gift card to Block buster a couple packages of microwave popcorn, some candy, some soda and something else, and wrapped it all up in a huge bowl, for movie night at the house. Any suggestions for this year?? I can use it.

I have so much to do this weekend, so not sure if I'll be able to post or not, but I'll try. I did go to the gym last night and took my 1 hour of Body Jam class, OIY it kicked my butt, since I haven't been in over a week and half. But it felt good afterwords and I was so happy I went. Well, I better get going I have some diary's to skim by and then i have a lot of work to get done. HUGS TO YOU ALL!!

I've bought a bunch of cards from this company and they have really beautiful cards - good quality with pretty envelopes too...

- they do have new years cards -but there's no reason why you can't send a happy holidays card for new years :D

Thanks Mal for the link, I'll check it out, I'm going to get something, but I won't say what they will be, they probably won't be New Years, but they will be something that will put a smile on your face and hopefully not end up in the trash bin after a few days. LOL LOL

Good idea. Maybe add some hand warmers or mittens. Make it a cold weather survival kit.

Glad you got back to the gym. The H comes home early so I may get to go if he's in early enough tonight.

Glad you like the card. I am surprised it got there so quick! I only mailed it out on Monday.

LOL that's a great idea Beth, thanks for the suggestion, I actually saw some cute little gift baskets at the store, they had like a HUGE soup mug and soup and other little gadgets in there, some were a HUGE Mug with cocoa and gadets I'll probably end up doing that, we will see I'll be shopping later today, so I hope I find some bargains, 12 people can get pretty expensive. UGGG!

Really only Monday, WOW that's good time then. Hand warmers and mittens are an excellent idea, I never thought of that. I love Christmas, and I love buying gifts for others, that's the best part!
 
This is so funny, you know I've been talking about New Years cards for the past 2 pages, and well low and behold today at work one of my brokers sent me a NEW YEARS card. LOL LOL I guess they do have them out there, it did come in a Hallmark envelope with a seal, so maybe you can buy them at the Hallmark store, I'll skim by tonight as we have several around here.

It's a gorgeous card, it's a beautiful powdery blue color, with picture on the front of glass Christmas tree ornaments, its so pretty, maybe I can scan it and post, hold on.
 
That's a beautiful card. I have a huge box full of just cards that I have received from people I care about. I also keep a file full of cards for every occasion just in case I forget. I buy them in bulk at Hobby Lobby when they have sales. I also make homemade cards in advance.

I love giving gifts as well and couldn't care less if I get any. this year is gonna be really good. I got perfect gifts for each and every person on my list. I like watching them open them.

Not much to post today, I'm working my butt off at work currently, so don't have a lot of time. I'm really debating whether or not to go to the gym tonight, I think I might, but we will see. I had two Christmas cookies today, OIY! I really should go to the gym, all these goodies WOW this is the hardest part of December!

Well everyone have a wonderful day today, I think I'll heat up Oatmeal for lunch. LOL Sounds tasty right?? NOT!!!! boring if you ask me!

Hi luvette :) (I call my daughter that actually ha ha). Yup, the packet of oatmeal sounds ICKY as a lunch (that being an understatement)! Girl, you've been doing this oatmeal thang for so long, how do you do it?! :rofl: That's my girl MissLadyBug! So consistent in her efforts, but do enjoy woman. Eat a nice filling lunch so you have the energy to go to the gym and work as hard as you do without slowing down your metabolism. I do hope you're having something else between the oatmeal and the gym?!!!!! OK, I'll stop lecturing now.. :cuss:

Amy, you're my kind of girl--well you're all my kinda girls--especially on TLD, but I love to give people cool presents, too. It makes me all fuzzy warm inside. I just hate years like this year when I have limited $$. :nopity:
 
Oatmeal is yum!

I agree with Blancita about it maybe not lasting till dinner though - but perhaps you have have something else in between as she said? It must be hard to resist Christmas cookies all day with nothing more than that in your tummy at lunch time though.
