Miss Ladybugs Diary

I've always felt like I don't want to eat much when it's hot either! What a crazy dream... a lot of time I don't remember my dreams, but some of them are so awful that I just can't forget them... but it sounds like your dog seems to be doing well, so hopefully it wasn't like a sixth sense type of thing going on! :D

I know it was just crazy. My husband thinks it's due to the fact that my son Scott has decided to start letting him stay in his room at night to sleep and just last night we were talking about how attached my son is getting, and this is the son that I have a very good relationship with, we have a very emotional connection, we hardly argue. It's the other twin that is just like me and we argue often. HAHAHAHA I'm sure it had something to do with it. Weird anyways!!

:) You and your husband sound so adorable together! I'm sorry about the bad dream though :( Also that little diner sounds horrible. I've gotta say, I look at restaurants in an entirely different light now. Some of the stuff I would crave, makes me cringe now and I'm glad for it. You managed to get so much done today though, it should feel great ;)

Sheesh Miss Ladybug, how big IS that yard?? Apparently you were working really hard yesterday and did you say in Tom's diary you're going back out there today? LOL I only wish I had a yard larger than the size of a postage stamp. Well this is NYC and I'm lucky my dad owns our apartment building or I wouldn't even have access to the postage stamp of a yard.

But I came to give you a high five for the 2 pound loss on Friday! Dont be discouraged that you didnt lose more from your low day yesterday. I've been tracking my weight every single day and it fluctuates between 1 to 3 pounds almost every day. And it never seems to matter much what I did the day before. I might have a low day and lose a few pounds, then they'll come back on despite continuing to be "good". The scale will usually go up after a high day, but as long as its lower than my high days from the prior week, then it still means I lost and I'm still happy. Now I've been on my plateau for 6 weeks, so that is a true drag!

Hope you enjoy your day (and dont run over any ladybugs with that mower :)).

Hi There!! Thanks for stopping in this morning. My yard is HUGE, but we new what we were in for when we bought it three years ago. We just didn't want to be in town. I guess the positive would be, we can go sit out on the deck and nobody around can see us. When I'm in the pool I don't have to worry about any nasty neighbors checking out my chub rolls. HAHAHA In all seriousness, it's are little oasis, and we love it here. ON the issue of weight. Tom told me he weighs in daily, so I decided to give that a shot, it's frustrating sometimes, but I'm learning to deal with the ups and downs. I think Aunt Flo is coming in a few days, so I'm sure I won't be seeing any downsizing in a while. I usually do after all is said and done. I want so bad to drop another 10 lbs this month, like I did the past month. So, I'm a little frustrated, but I'll keep going, until I see those results I need. Again, thanks for stopping in, I appreciate that!

Yard work Shmard work!

I hate yardwork. I got off easy this weekend because it's been raining so much, the ground is too wet to mow. Or...is...it? LOL :p I just wish I could snap my fingers and it'd be done. I think the next move will be to a condo or apartment that does not require yard work.

Today it will have to be the gym for cardio since it's too ugly out for the grid road jog. I might do hill climbing on the elliptical trainer.

Weighing daily definitely does NOT work for me. Because it takes my focus off the good habits of eating healthy and exercising (lifestyle) and puts it onto my weight. A person can get mighty discouraged because weight loss is not linear and you can have 5 pounds hang on stubbornly, despite very good habits, only to have all 5 pounds drop in one week. Weighing in weekly works for me. But everyone is different and there is no right and wrong. I figure if you know how many calories are going in, and you are working out...success will be yours.

I am hanging out in the WLF website to get out of doing what I'm supposed to be doing and that is ... writing ... I'm trying to finish a writing project and my friend just asked me today, are you done? I'm like ... ummmm ... I don't really like it anymore. And he said are you insane? Don't make me come over and pound you one. LOL K, I gotta go!

LadyB, you are SO lucky about that oasis. Having grown up in the city, it is my absolute dream to have a huge private yard. And with a pool to boot? Are you kidding, that is worth every single calorie you burn mowing that yard (see? this yard even has you burning cals!).

I agree w/ Tom on daily weighing. I track my weight in a spreadsheet so I can see the pattern of fluctuations at a glance. I also track my cals in there, so its very interesting to see when the fluctuations occur and why or why not because sometimes there's really just no rhyme or reason to it all on a daily basis.

But what really counts is not our daily weight but more that overall our weight is going DOWN over time. In the winter when I'm home a lot I always gain a few pounds by monday from overeating on the weekends, but every single week that weekend weight would be gone by tuesday, and by thursday I would hit a "new low".

At the end of each week, on saturday, I record my current weight as the new lowest weight I hit that week. So if I hit a new low weight that week but then gained again by saturday, I still record the lowest weight as my current weight for that week. The reason is that, if every week you're either achieving a calorie deficit or eating at maintenance, it is typically impossible to be gaining actual weight. So each week you'll generally notice your "new low" getting lower and your highs also get lower each week.

And so what if the scale goes up again after you hit a new low, because the following week you will, low and behold, notice yourself hitting yet another new low. Now I haven't seen a new low in 6 weeks so its becoming a drag, but when you're steadily losing every week that should be your focus, not your daily weight. Recording your weight daily helps you see that and gives you piece of mind.

Anna,
I read your little book in your post. HOT!! I love a little mystery and passion girlfriend. That's me!! I will say my favorite movie of all time is FALLING IN LOVE with Robert Deniro and Meryl Streep. OH YEAH!! I'm all about he passion and the mushy stuff. It says you live in Canada. I moved to OK from Upstate NY, I lived there for 10 years, visited Canada often. It's such a beautiful place. It's funny when you mention upstate NY to people, most think NYC, they would be in shock to know Northern OK is like a huge forest it's the most beautiful sight to see. MINUS the BLACK FLIES!! uggg. OH and the 6 months worth of snow. I like warm to much to move back, but I would consider a summer home there, IF I could afford it!! ;)

Blancita,
I know what you mean about the weighing. I was a freak about it from the beginning and would only weigh in once a week, like Anna above. But, Tom advised about his weigh ins daily and I thought what the heck. To be honest with you, I'm beginning to believe it's all about how your clothes fit then what the scale is telling us. For example, when I showed that 2lb up the Monday before last, my skirt was about hanging off of me, and that's the one that months back stuck so tight to my butt I was afraid to sit down. I know whatever it is I'm doing is changing my body for the good, so I say Damn these scales, I might just go for monthly weigh ins if this keeps up. The scale for me really screws me up, it can easily put me in a crappy mood. So I guess if I feel like weighing, I will and If I feel like holding off a week, I might do that too. It's now a mood thing for me, and with aunt flo coming, I probably won't weigh in until next Friday. I'm glad you have that little postage stamp of a yard, I used to have the same thing about 9 years ago, when it was just me and my sons in the duplex. So I know how even that much can mean so much!! It did for me BIG TIME, because I have to spend time outdoors, I'm a total outdoors freak! and I love to pot plants and garden. I do miss the ocean and beaches, I will say that. Oklahoma just doesn't have the pretty waters like California or NY has. Boo Hoo!!

Hi Ann!

Thanks for supporting me in my diary, your diary is fun to read and lots going on! Oh, to miss out on those strawberries for inedible fries :( I feel your pain...

Miss Ladybug, your oasis sounds lovely. and private! I can't imagine how nice it would be to have that. I also can't imagine what a joy mowing it must be. :p haha anyways I'm just like you, I'm an outdoors girl. I haven't played outside in what seems like forever though because of my freakin weight. But the sun is luring me out bit by bit...the ocean is calling my name.

I've been thinking about monthly weigh-ins too. But I'm too curious to stick with that. I have a confession as well, I've been checking the scales every day since my May 4th weigh-in. So, I have to say I'm in total agreement with you and 2Skinny, because it sucks to see the same number. The scale even wanted to move up a notch, but I wouldn't let it.

On the other hand, I'm so happy to see your comment about the way your clothes are feeling! I agree! I think the scale hates me because my clothes feel great, and I swear my arms look a little less like sausages. That seriously made my day right there, I'm so easy. Thanks for posting ;)

Luke, I think we both should just do the monthly weigh ins, that works for me. :p I agree with you, it seems we have a lot in common and do a lot of the same things, and like a lot of the same foods. It's good to see others just like you in here. Today, it's HOT & HUMID, I hate eating when it's like this, I'm just not hungry! And...... what the heck should I make for dinner tonight? We are supposed to get thunderstorms, some maybe real bad, so grilling is out of the question, and I hate cooking indoors when it's so hot. Uggggg, choices, choices. Maybe I'll stick to sandwiches and cut up tomatoes with pepper. Mmmmm, my mom would always cut up fresh tomatoes and cucumbers for us to munch on. We grew up without the soda and candy. We couldn't afford it with 6 kids, it was the Brady Bunch, 3 girl 3 boys and they were HIS, HER'S and OURS. we didn't live the Brady Bunch, but my step mom cooked for us everyday, and amazingly she was able to make something great, sometimes without much to work with. I so adored her!! Awww I sigh! Well, I better get back to vacuuming the living room. Another down fall of country life. ALWAYS dusting and vacuuming to do, Almost daily, plus I have two cats, ONE sheds like I don't know it's horrible, and I can't stand it!! Have a great rest of your day!! ;)

You are doing awsome! I wanted to stop by and say hi!

Thanks Mrs Redneck women for stopping by! I want to say A BIG HELLO to you also, and I'll have to stop by your diary and catch up on all your latest ventures. I hope all is well with you this weekend. And I hope you stop by again soon. Take Care!
Kim

K, I'm done the laundry and housework, now I'm off to walk the dog.

You are so right to stay where it's warm. Winters are 6 months long and my personality has permanently changed from them. I've got this permanent bitch-scowl on my face from the wind and cold. ha ha ha

Wow, thanks for the tip on Falling in Love with DeNiro and Streep...what a pair! I'm going to rent it after my walk. Wait a minute I was gonna write, DOH!

Okay, I had to shrink these pics down to fit on this stupid thing,so I hope you can see something on each. Most were taken off my side porch it faces the front side of the house. Only the dog area at this time had been mowed, the actual front yard itself is still waiting to dry off, it rained again last night, this is the strangest spring, we are getting a lot of rain, and I'm not complaining. One pic is taken this past December and one inside looking throug my kitchen window. The Turkey was in my yard this afternoon, we have a lot of wild turkey here. I also see a lot of deer, but they are too fast for me to get a picture of darn it!!! Well, I hope you all enjoy!

awww you have a ladybird on your kitchen window :D
your garden is massive!
:] have you had a good weekend?

Yes I have so far, even though it's been really humid, I'm trying not to use my air conditioner so soon in the year if I can, I'm trying to run all the ceiling fans in the house to keep it cool. Do you get humidity where you are??? My garden is pretty nice, but don't be fooled it takes a lot of time and energy to maintain, and that's only the front side of the house, the other side has just as much yard. It's hard to tell in these pics, because I have to stretch them so small and they get blurry, but most our garden veggies are grown in RAISED UP beds that my husband builds. That was the only thing that worked for us. So, HOW WAS YOUR RUN in the mountains??? I'm so anxious to find out!!! TELL TELL

wow those pics are awesome.

And you DO have a HUGE yard! :O

Thanks Wishes!!! You know, I've been meaning to drop into your diary for the past week, I see all your posts and I must say your transformation is HOT!! I can't believe how great you look. I've been meaning to tell you that for the longest time. I'll go visit your diary in just a few. Thanks for stopping by, I'm thrilled!! :D ps, I think it was in the before & Afters that I saw your transformation, if I recall. :)

Here is a picture of my cat, that sheds like crazy and keeps me cleaning up cat hair just about daily. But I don't have the heart to get rid of him.
