Mimi's Journey

I'm about a week into getting healthy, and losing 50lbs. Things are going well, I've had my ups and downs, and I'm optimistic about the coming week.

I have finally quit smoking, and another member on here asked me if I did it cold turkey. No. I've been quitting smoking for about five years. I's had up to 8 months without a cigarette, but some kind of stress or drunken revelry would send me to the corner store to pick up a pack. I've finally taken on the attitude that it takes a daily commitment (sometimes hourly) to decide not to smoke. I've had realapses since I've moved up to New England, but so far it's been 52 days since my last cigarette. And it was pretty gross.

I'm trying to make the smae commitment to getting healthy and losing weight. Last week I exercised three times and ate pretty well about 80% of the time. Which is much better than the three previous months where I've mostly been on the couch with a brick of cheese and a box of crackers.

Yesterday i went to a spinning class with some friends and it was great! My rear is kinda ouchy today, but I'm looking forward to the next class.

Today I choose me.
