HA!!!!!
That killed me.
"elk sausage" ????? eeeeeeewwwwwwww

Yeah, so biking story, I'll be brief.

A week and a half ago, thought I'd take the bike out one last time before it got too chilly. Yeah, about 3 miles from home the front tire goes flat. Had my daughter with me, so there was no way we were going to be able to walk back through busy traffic.

Had to call the hubby and get him to drive out and pick us up. Thank goodness I gave into his continual nagging to bring my cell phone with me on my bike rides. Have you ever tried to cram two bikes into a car? Yeah, not fun. LOL, maybe I'll take it back up again next spring.

FGT,
$200? thats it? Man I gotta move to the city. In small towns they know they have you by the testicles/overies so they'll up the price. $81/month or $570/year. The gym doesn't have a 6 month membership which is what I'd be interested in since I spend most of my summers outside.

Manola,
ahhhh flats suck. When I bike I carry a repair kit with me. On longer rides I actually carry a tube too.... well at least I used to... stupid fall weather. Glad to hear you made it hope without any other problems!

Pre Exercise
glass of OJ, the drink not the halloween character

exercise
5kms jog - 30 minutes

breakfast
fried eggs, cheese on top of rye toast

sidenotes:

So I'm really toying with the idea of buying myself a new ipod, the ipod nano... mainly for jogging. Of course if I get it, I'll have to get the Nike + system. Anyone else in the forum have one?

Thats not a bad deal, I have an ipod Nano, and I love it, however, I think the better system, and what I would have done in hindsight is get a garmin 301 and an Ipod shuffle for the same money. THe garmin does heart rate, distance, elevation, maps your runs autmatically, can be used on a bike......

the shuffle plays music.

basically simple, would do what you need while you workuot.

FGT,

well that would be a great solution only that would require me to go to the darkside and purchase one of those god aweful PC's.... Mac for life baby! (i'm such a geek)

I have a Creative Zen Micro. I love it, just like the ipod but with a better price tag. I heart Macs too... was a total PC head until college. Learned all my design programs on a mac. They are sooo much better. The OS X alone makes windows look bad. (Who needs porn when there's an apple.com..lol) But I'm stuck with a brand new HP Pavilion with Media Center and like a bazillion gig of memory. *sigh* I'd love to have the cash for one of those new macs that can run windows too.. *drool* ..excuse me.. I think I need a moment to myself... ;)

I was going to get a zen too, but I am super rough with my stuff.

The IPod pedometer- you have to buy Nike+ shoes...and htey can be pricey.

*looking up Nike+* oh my god... the shoe talks to the ipod?? that is so effin awesome!! AND the shoe tracks your mileage, calories burned, and stuff... *faints* I bet that stuff is expensive... remember when air pockets in the shoe was considered 'high tech'. pfft.. and they call us the lazy generation

*sigh*
What wouldn't I give to be able to jog 5 miles at a stretch and not die of exhaustion. :p
Nice work with the exercise.

bobby, it wasn't always this easy, believe me! There was a time where just walking that 5 kms would have left me drenched with sweat and sore for a few days. It takes time, effort, and of course determination. I'm sure you'll be able to get there!
