Hi everyone,
Am brand new to the forum, I was hoping that somewhere I would be able to off-load and support others, along the way.
Well, I'm afraid, am a self confessed cot case when it comes to being healthy!
Lets see - just how far back do I go?
My mum and most of my relatives are morbidly obese, so have always grown up with fears and with food!
I've been to Weight Watchers, counted calories, OA, Atkins, I have had stomach band surgery even - and have discovered that while I can't eat the quantity - I certainly can still eat a lot and yes put on weight (haven't had the scary saline injections and I think its stretched..) Recently, I tried diet pills - duromine - phentermine - plus Slimmm herbal fat busters.....
My latest thing is now - a bit of a combo, most of the time NO diet pills - or crutches - as I've heard someone refer to them as....
and I am on the Kate Morgan Weight loss programme:
they do a free weekly weigh in - which I loved the sound of!
Anyway, its kind of a meal replacement thing for breakfast and lunch, then low GI, high protein kind of dinner. Its much gentler than the old Atkins... aims for 100g Carbs per day (I think).
So - it means I can also buy a variety of supermarket available bars and shakes, as well, so that the cost is less too.
I try to walk for about 1/2 hour to an hour everyday, plus be active.
I feel inspired by the Julie/ Julia movie and so my goal is to post daily for my first 30 days.... I think I talk too much - lots of emotions and crazy thoughts etc...
I lost weight - went down to 70kg about a year and a half ago - by utilising diet pills and healthy eating approach. I have always tried to space out the diet pills - alternative day / one every few weeks - IF I am really really having a challenging day!
Anyway, I started to put back on - and when I weighed in (almost 2 weeks ago) I was 91.6kg! Am only 5' 3"!!!!
Anyway, in my first week, I lost 4.3kg - yeah I know most of that was probably water... but anyway a loss is a loss and I gotta say I was fed up with being fed up and am definately in Nike mode: just do it!
Today is my Day 13 of actually CARING about what I eat and having the courage to get off my back side and actually give life a go!
Sorry for going on so much!
Am sure there'll be other days when I won't go on so much,
(but don't count on it, lol)
this is my was of coping, I'm afraid!
All the best to everyone, I look forward to finding my way around the forum and getting to know you! Have an awesome day, michele
