Okay okay.... so I've been running around and leaving messages at other diaries, so sue me! hahaa Hey, you can't say I'm not supportive, ladies. HA! Actually, I was really interested in all of your diaries and what's been going on since I've been floating around here and there. (Shit a lot goes on when one's MIA for a couple days.) So, yup I'm back and my daily food/ workout write ups will be forthcoming. Right now, I'm trying to figure out what the hell I want to cook for dinner. I thought I'd throw on some Depeche Mode in the kitchen, so that'll get my creative "juices" (along with an other type... mrawr... David Gahan you filthy little slutcake.. yummm hahaa) flowing. I then have to take my ass to the grocery store, because my beloved "homeboy for life" aka husband has field work and it looks like turkey sandwiches for his ass the next 2 weeks. Alrighty... thank you everyone for your concern inregards to the Runt kitty. She's alive and well, and my husband's also back to normal. Yippy... :) I'm sooooo behind with my journal, my apologies for just sending a general "thank you" to all of you. (Also, I'm still trying to visit everyone's journal.) Since I've been away, there are have been tons of weekend parties/ BBQs... I've been good with packing food in my handy mini Igloo cooler to snack on prior to getting there. (nectarines, Breyer's Light Yogurt with Kashi Go Lean cereal, kiwi, bananas, etc) As for the desserts, once those come out, I'm off and running with the kids. Keeping busy gets my mind off of indulging in sweets and I also get some exercise out of it. Hell, it works... haha

Since last week Monday, August 20, I have been spending time at my new gym. (I just love saying that... haha!) I have grown to love the elliptical trainer. At first I was a little confused how it worked, but I just took my time, pressed a few buttons and discovered various workout programs. I later asked Alexis, the personal trainer who I adore, questions about interval training, hill programs, etc. Alexis has also been showing me proper form when it comes to the weight machines as well as free weights. For the first time, I'm actually learning something in a gym setting, so I'm really happy and excited. :D Since I'm doing both cardio and weight training at the gym, I've decided not to go overboard with my Power90 DVDs. (I'll probably just follow the weight training with free weights at the gym and as for the circuit part of the program, I'll do it every other day in place of a 60 min brisk walk)

Alrighty, I'm getting tired on this end, so I better post today's accomplishments before I pass out at the computer. haha

Workout:

- brisk walk (60 min)
- Elliptical Trainer (5 min warm up, 40 min IT Level 12 and 5 min cooldown)
- LEGS (leg press, leg curls, calf raises, leg extension, squats, glutes) (40 mins)

Meals:

Breakfast:
- oatmeal with ground cinnamon and diced fresh pear
- bowl of halved strawberries and sliced plum with 1% cottage cheese and Kashi Go Lean cereal (405 cal)

Snack:
- 1c 1% milk with 1 scoop Wellements Whey Protein Powder (250 cal)

Lunch:
- 1 1/4c Campbell's Healthy Request Mexican Style Chicken Tortilla Soup
- 3 slices turkey breast with veggies (red onions, lettuce, tomato, fresh salsa) and black beans wrapped in a sundried tomato flatout wrap (445 cal)

Snack:
- Breyer's light blueberry yogurt with Kashi Go Lean cereal and 1 1/4c fresh pineapple (345 cal)

Dinner:
- 1c red beans and rice with roasted chicken breast and 1c fresh green beans
- side 1c sliced pineapple (I must be missing home, because I rarely eat this crap when I live in Hawaii... LOL) (580 cal)

Total Calories: 2,030 cal (1990-2340)

Notes: I'm farking tired. One thing about going to the gym, it definitely makes me sleep earlier than usual. I need to find time for a nap before Sean gets home. Must plan this out... sorry if I'm just blabbing. I'll start posting much earlier nowadays. hahaaa Good night, everyone...

Nice work at the gym. I enjoy working out at home, but I must admit that there's nothing quite like going to the gym. I find it to be a very motivating atmosphere! And the elliptical is one hell of a workout!

Do they have an ArcTrainer at your gym? If they do, then gove it a try. It's more comfortable than an elliptical but kicks your ass twice as hard!

Ha! Ummm actually.... I was joking around with Sean before I left for the gym. I told him I had a hot date with my new girlfriend, Ellie... told him that she's my new bitch. haha He just looked at me weird, then realized I meant the elliptical. HA! One of the staff members enjoys watching me workout, because I have a tendency to bob my head, make weird faces and sing to myself while on the elliptical. He came up to me the other day and said, "I think you're the cutest thing with your pigtails and facial expressions." I could have turned that into something sooooo perverted, but I just smiled and said thanks. HA!!!

Why hello, shexy soon to be doctor lady... thanks for dropping in! This gym's great, because it's one of those types where they don't allow those huge ass body builders who grunt, drop weights, yell to pump themselves, rub balls with one another.. or whatever else they do. (I used to be a part of a 24hr fitness in Hawaii and it was such a damn freak show with men wearing shorts shorter and tighter than women's. Freaky thing is, the fronts were just as flat. HA!) With this gym, you get a mixture of people, so I'm happy. The only problem are the little pervs from Binghamton Uni who believe they're entitled to talk to you and ask you on dates while you're working out.

Be sure to set the resistance to 50 and the the incline to 10. That will give you one hell of a workout.

I lurve you, Val... you big ol' perv. hahaaa! As for cardio, I'm not trying to kill myself too much with it nowadays... I'm leaning towards weight training, because I want to tone up a bit. I have to say, I'm pretty proud of my biceps, traps, and shoulders. They're buffer than a few of those little Binghamton Uni pervs and yes, I point that out just to give them a complex. HAHAAAAAA!

Ha! So what's it like to get asked out by college kids? :rotflmao: It's been soooo long that I've forgotten!

It's interesting... hahaa... then again the ones that I have run into seem to be a few cards short of a deck. Don't get me wrong, it's a HUGE ego boost... but when Johnny Fratboy thinks it's impressive to flex while resting his arm on your elliptical as you sweat your ass off it makes you wonder if the little bastard realizes he's an uber-douche. (And yes... I pointed that out to him as well.. LMAO) I'm going to hell.. hahaaaa Oh well.
