Hey Girl, I LOVE the big hair pic. I showed it to Sean and he said "Damn, you could hide an indigenous tribe in there!" Lol!! The pic of your dad is too damn cute. I hope he gets inspired by you and your healthy example. I have the same issue with my mother. My dad is 53 and is diabetic but takes excellent care of himself and is in great shape, but my mother is in horrible shape and health is getting worse. I have tried everything including bribing with money to get her to start taking care of herself. Nothing works. I don't know what else to do. It worries the hell out of me.
 
Hope things work out with you dad. Sounds like you had a good effect on him. Maybe try to make him your weight loss buddy, or email him your daily accomplishments post (minus the smutt) and invite him to do the same? He should be able to get plenty of useful info and encouragement from you.

There is nothing you can do. It has to be her decision. My mother is a train wreck waiting to happen, but I can talk until I'm blue in the face to no avail. I've given up. If she wants to kill herself there's nothing I can do. :banghead:

I'm watching it right now, and Nate and Jen--who I detest--are all excited about going to Taiwan b/c they like Thai food and have some Thai friends. Too bad their Thai friends didn't explain the difference between Taiwan and Thailand. :rolleyes:
 
Sheryl, I was so touched by the letters you wrote your family...your post impacted me on how important our emotional heath is to this journey. If we are not true to ourselves in everything, we will never be truly happy. I believe that from deep in my soul. Good for you for your accomplishments...all of them. You are an inspiration!

Wow I drop in to see how you have been doing I I got a little teary! My father passed away before we could patch things up,he was avery heavy unhealthy man whom drank and ate his self to death,I wish I could have changed things but the truth is he didn't want to change until it was too late and the doc was basically saying you are going to die any time now then moved him to hospice I was preggers w/ my 1st ,his 1st grandchild and I had to have surgery the next day myself to remove a 12lb cyst & right ovary @ 4 months preggers,I was terrified of losing my baby and my dad at the same time surgery went well of course but I did lose my dad.
I am so glad your trying to help him and please keep at it.

GREAT idea with the letter to your dad. I'm the same way about mine, as far as crying while talking about anything serious. I pray the letter will work, and that he'll get your mom on board, too. I wish I'd thought to write the same type of letter to my mom while she was still around. No telling WHAT might have changed for the better.

Amy, Blancita and Kimberly- Amy, believe me, Kimberly and I have been talking about our parents health for a while now. Unfortunately, we can talk until we're blue in the face, but until they figure out what's best for them, we just have to sit and wait. I hate that crap.

With my dad, I pretty much threw out the "we plan to have kids and I want you to be around card." Like I said before, I just hope and pray this is going to be a for the long haul and not just a months worth of "suffering." All I can do is show my support by calling up and checking on dad. I have a few other pix taken during my trip and I'm thinking about telling mom to print it and have dad hang it on the side of his bed on the ball. The letter I wrote dad is placed there, so it's added motivation.

Kimberly and Tyly- The "Emily Situation" was really uncalled for, but meh, it happened. I won't go into details, but all I have to say is you NEVER disrespect someone's family by cursing out someone in public. (Yah.. infront of my 10 yr old nephew, grandma and dad at a craft fair. 2 days after I got in.) Also... you NEVER drive to someone's house to harrass them if you know the bitch is crazy and will smear your ass up and down the street. Nuff said.

OMFG when I heard that I just looked at Sean and said, "You know... that kid, Nate, is pretty cute. However, being as he's a retard, it would never work." HA!! As for Jen, she reminds me of one of those girls that throws a tantrum if mommy/ daddy doesn't pay for her credit card bills. Oh.. and I'd love to slap a bitch.

First off, I know it's been a while, but I'm sorry you loss your father during a difficult time in your life. :hug2: Hell woman, if I could hug you up in person, I would.

A lot of us have unhealthy family members and we sit there and watch them slowly deteriorate. Hell, we've all been guilty of continuining the cycle at one point in time. However, luckily for us, we've learned from their "mistakes" and have decided we don't want to experience the same thing.

Your recent befores/ afters are astounding, Tammy. If anything, I think you're an amazing woman/ mother. You're taking charge of shit and getting things done. Your family must be so proud of you, girl. :D

Actually I gained a couple pounds while on vacation, but I'm not going to sweat it. I don't feel the need to play "teeter totter" on my weight ticker. It's added motivation for me to say, "Alright, bitch... get back to 155, because mama needs a new weight ticker soon." ;) Btw... I'll check out that cereal next time I'm shopping. Thanks, doll!

Awww thank you, Bethann. I'm a very emotional person, so writing is the only way I can convey my thoughts clearly when it comes to my family. They all know how I am and never miss, right before I'm about to leave they'll yell, "And don't go leaving us letters all around the house, you ass!" (We have a tendency to not want to cry infront of one another. haha) To me, family is everything and not a single day passes where I don't think about them. My family (as well as my husband) is (are) my world. It's important to tell them how much they mean to you whenever you have the chance. :)
 
Sunday's Accomplishments

I'm posting yesterday's shit since it crashed on me last night. I'm trying to keep myself accountable on this end. hahaaa

Workout:

- 20 min Turbo Jam
- 5/20/5 mins Arc Trainer (Interval Training, Level=7)
- 60 min weight training: LEGS (squats, deadlifts, etc)

Meals:

Breakfast:
- 1/2 c oatmeal with 1/2 sliced pear/ cinnamon
- 1/2c 1% cottage cheese with other half of sliced pear
- 1c 1% milk (465 cal)

Snack:
-whole wheat Thomas bagel with 1tb peanut butter and sliced small banana
(460 cal)

Lunch:
- 1c whole wheat pasta with veggies/ legumes (1c sliced zucchini, 1c chopped spinach, 2 sliced plum tomatoes, 1/2c black beans- rinsed, 1c greeb bell peppers, and 1/2c chopped onions) sprinkled with 1/3 part skim mozzarella cheese (530 cal)

Snack:
- slice Oscar Meyer Turkey breast (30 cal)
Dinner:
- Rosemary and lemon roasted chicken breast
- 1c rice and red beans
- 2 c romaine salad with red onions and 2tb light Italian dressing
- 1c 1% milk (625 cal)

Total Calories: 2,105 cal (1830-2180)
Water: 10 c
Notes: I had off the hook sex last night. Yah me! HAHAAA!!

- small packet of Teddy Grahams (160 cal)

Lunch:
- 2 sundried tomato and basil flatout wraps with shredded chicken breast, romaine lettuce, red beans and rice, salsa and 1/3c part skim mozzarelle cheese (570 cal)

Snack:
- Lite yogurt
- navel orange
- chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie (240 ca)

Dinner:
- london broil with onions and mushrooms
- 1c brown rice
- 1c steamed broccoli (490 cal)

Total Calories: 1,920 cal (1830-2180)
Water: 12c
Notes: My legs are tight as hell from working out yesterday, but they feel really good. haha Also, I donated blood, hence my reason for the Teddy Grahams and apple juice. I HAD to consume it or I would have passed out at the wheel while driving home. ;) Damn I'm so full of shit. HA!

Yeah my dad has smoked heavily since he was a teen so I know how worrying it is. There's only so much we can do.

No shit! She drove me nuts always whining and bitching about everything. She is one of those people who feels that the world should just hand her everything she wants on a silver platter. My mom and I were thrilled that she got eliminated--and on her birthday to boot!! Happy fucking birthday biotch!! :party:
