Wow that's some journey. We are both about the same weight, waist but your taller. Great reading your diary, err journal :). Keep up the good work!
 
All my weight was upper body pretty much. 100lb weight loss and I only went down 2 pant sizes, lol. I was in a wedding last year and when I got fitted for my tux I remember having a 56in chest and 44 waist.

I am pretty sore from hitting the weights hard the last 2 days. I am going to try a few leg exercises tomorrow. I think I can do them without hurting my ankle but we will see.
 
Well I have been hitting the weights pretty hard for the last couple of weeks now. I should have done this along time ago. I am already physically seeing results. I have upped my carbs and protein intake considerably.

I have some new pics but I am going to wait to post them in the month to month pic challenge thread at the end of July.
 
Another week down. I would have never thought I would see these kind of results this quickly. I have been lifting like a madman.

Well I have completely screwed things up. I havent been to the gym in at least 2 months. I have been eating everything I can get my hands on. I have put 27lbs back on. I am soooo disappointed in myself. I bought new clothes shortly before I stopped trying, and they are now tight on me.

I am having such a hard time getting motivated to get back to it. I dont seem to have any self control anymore either. My head is telling me not to eat certain things but next thing I know, there I am stuffing my face with what I just said no to.

I visit in here from time to time and try to get motivated but it doesnt seem to work either. I have done everything up to this point on my own. I have tried to get friends to join me but they dont want to or they are too busy. I think I just got bored with what I was doing. Same routine everyday. My gym doesnt offer classes or anything to help mix things.

Sorry if some of this doesnt make since. I have so much going through my head right now and im just kind of typing it as I think.
 
Ugh... Im back again. Still not doing the greatest. I am up to 270lbs. I have pretty much maintained that weight for the last couple months. Been going to the gym 2-3 times a week ( far from the 5-6 days a week I was doing ). What is really killing me though is my eating. One day I will do great and the next day its completely horrible. I was going to post up some new pics but its so embarrasing to look at my older pics and these ones.
 
I think you have to try to recapture whatever it was that made you want to lose weight in the first place.

You mention not eating right. Are you having trouble eating correctly at home, or eating out?
If the problem is at home, the solution may just be to get rid of the trouble foods. You can't eat what isn't there. Eating out can be more tricky. I always struggle to stay within my calorie range when eating out.

In any case, look at the positives. You have maintained for the past few months, so at least you aren't heading in the wrong direction anymore. With just a few changes, which you have already done in the past, you will be back on track and losing again.

I have trouble eating in general. When I lost all the weight the first time around I had amazing will power, but now I cant seem to tell myself no.

I know I can lose the weight. I have already done it once already. I just have to get my head into the right place.

If I can continue everyday like I did today I will be back to the weight I was before in no time. My eating was great and I really picked it up at the gym.

1hr on the treadmill. I started with a 10 minute walk warm up. I then jogged for 2 minutes at 6.5mph, then walked for 2 minutes at 3.8mph for the follwing 40 minutes. Then a 10 minute cool down walk . Moved on to the weights for 30 minutes and finished off with a 10 minute cool down on the stationary bike.
 
Congrats on today! Sometimes it's best to just take things one day at a time.

Staying focused has been mine, and I suspect many others, achilles heel when it comes to weight loss. Unfortunately I think the only solution is just plain old perseverance.
 
Alright here it goes again.

I really really really fell of the wagon for the past year. I have put over 50lbs back on and my self esteem sucks. I have let myself down. I had absolutely no will power to say no to my bad eating habits. I stopped going to the gym pretty much, although I was still paying my monthly memebership fees.

I started going back to the gym regularly a couple weeks ago and Im watching my food intake starting tomorrow.

Well I did damn good on exercising today. Got up at 5am so I could be in the gym by 6am. Did a 10 minute warm up on the treadmill, hit the weights for 35 minutes and then 15 mins on the stationary bike. And when I lift I don't take very many breaks. I am from one lift to the next immediately . In that 35 minutes I maybe took 3 couple minute breaks. Then after work I played 2.5 hrs of full court basketball.

Food started of pretty good. Woke up and had a bowl of Kashi cereal at approximately 5:20 am, protein shake agreeing lifting at around 7:00 am, a small golden delicious apple at 10:15.

Then lunch came at 11:30. I had a nice salad and fruit cup packed but the crew I was working with wanted to go to Arbys and I ended up going with them. I got a chicken sandwich, small curly fries and a medium diet Mt. Dew.

After work I ate a Kashi Pumpkin spice granola bar before going to play basketball. Which was absolutely delicious btw, lol. This was at around 4:30 pm

After 2.5 hrs of basketball I was starving. I didn't want to stop anywhere by I was starting to feel sick I was so hungry. Then I seen a McDonalds. I ended up going through the drive thru and getting a grilled chicken club sandwich. No fries or drink. This was at about 8:00 pm

So my eating definitely needs some work but I don't think today was absolutely terrible.
 
My diet has been pretty decent except for today. It seems like if I scew early in the day I feel like the rest of the day might as well be shot to hell as well and I eat whatever.

Havent been to the gym in a few days either. I have been kind of sick and havent felt like going. Hopefully I kick this cold soon.
 
I'm new to this site (just found it today) and saw your posts. I just finished reading through all of them and really enjoyed reading your progress - even the set backs. Seeing that you are working so hard to find your motivation and self control again, and getting back to a gym and healthy eating is really great! I totally commend you for your efforts and look forward to more updates. :)

I surprising did very well with weight loss last week. My diet and exercise wasnt the greatest though.

Been doing much better with both so far this week.
 
Thanks to both of you. I have been doing really good so far this week. Would love to see another 8 next week, haha
