Well I began on June 2007 and my starting weight was a whopping 310 and my height being 5'8, i know. I have lost 40 pounds and now 270. My main problem is my upper back and waist. I need some help with losing weight around that area.

My dinner is- grilled chicken breast(no skin), broccoli, and a lot of water. not much of a eater.

My before weight(310)

- that image made me want to lose the weight, I'm the guy on the far left.

Any tips would be good for the upper back and waist parts, thanks.

Hey there! I'm so glad to see that your wanting to better your health by losing the weight.. Lord do I know it's not easy, but my best advice would be on good days and bad.. HANG IN THERE and don't give up.. just take it one meal at a time.. and you'll see results, just don't quit!

I agree you need to eat more. Try to pack in veggies at every corner and some fruit when the craving strikes. Eating several smaller meals a day will boost your metabolism.

A great exercise for the back and abs is rowing. Just make sure you sit up straight or it'll hurt your shoulders and neck the next day.

Well done on the weight loss so far!

Unfortunately you can not spot reduce fat. So basically you just have to keep eating at a calorie deficit and the body will dictate where the fat comes from.

As already suggested, please do not get into the trap of thinking that eating only small amounts of food will make you lose weight quick. It is really important to only reduce you calorie intake by about 500 cals per day (after you factor in any physical exercise) so that you body doesn't go into starvation mode.

Try to do a full body workout, 3 x per week consisting of compound movements (push ups, pull/chin ups, squats, rows, military press etc). By doing resistance training you will boost your metabolism and build muscle which in turns more fat.

Slow and steady wins the race!

Cardio! Cardio! I noticed that I lost "back fat" using the elliptical Machine. Use the arm to pull back. Make sure not to use your biceps, but you lats, which are a bigger muscle and will burn more calories.
