Making Gains

Right now as far as weightlifting, my concern isn't really getting bigger (though I may go back and work on my upper chest), right now I just want to work on upper body strength. When I first started working out I was doing exercises to get bigger, did a few strength exercises, then I started training to get bigger. Now I'm at the point where I'm looking at strength, and I can't bench my body weight.
I weighted 244 at my last check up a week ago and when I bench I max out around 195-200. As far as leg strength, I'm doing fine with that. I'm basically looking for tips as far as increasing strength, possibly any supplements anyone wants to recommend. And if anyone wants to know I haven't use creatine yet, as I've been trying to plateau before doing so.
