M.L.B's Road to happiness

Athanks Sarah, and I am really enjoying the gym. After about 2 months I can really see a difference.

ASo I am officially in a bad time, I have been stuck at around 100kg for the past 2 months, and I have been snacking like crazy for the past couple of weeks.

I haven't stopped working out though, but I am finding it hard to get back into the mindset of eating 100% healthy. You might think this is a harmless snacking, but if it wasn't for me still working out, I would probably already have put some weight back on.

You're not alone man.. my boyfriend is also stuck there. He's been stuck between 101-100 for the last month. :/ Seems to be a magic number or something. He even got to 100.1kg, but then it randomly went back up.

You'll both beat it, I'm sure. :) Hardest part is sticking to it when you're not seeing the results you want - but hang in there!

Sounds like a nasty plateau. Have heard that throwing multiple curve balls at your system in times like this could help. Things like calorie cycling, switching up the types and intensity of exercises and cardio you're doing and maybe even going back to a food journal if you aren't currently keeping one could help.

Still a ways off that 100Kg mark myself but know I'll likely be in your same position in a few more months so I look forward to you having an excellent solution posted here by that point

:biggrinjester:

AThanks for the motivation guys, I haven't given up yet, and I don't plan on giving up anytime soon. This is just a bump in the road for me.

I hope you won't need a solution feelinggooder, I hope you will just smash through the 100 mark.

AForgot to mention this before, but I am finally able to do a pull up.

In all my 24 years on this earth, I have never been able to do a single
Pull up. So this is a "HUGE" accomplishment for me.

AI'm sure you'll get over this little bump, and that's all it is, a little bump in the road. You're doing great. Congrats on the pull up. That's awesome! :hurray:

Getting that first pull up is an awesome moment and a sure sign that your time in the gym is paying off.

I remember the last time I had a gym membership they had this machine there that used to let you kneel on a seat to do assisted pull ups with an adjustable amount of weight that you could set. Took me months to work my way down from 130lbs down to being able to complete a single pull up unassisted and remember the awesome feeling that came with it.

Definitely one to celebrate MLB!

AHey MLB! I was stuck in a rut too since January :(! You gotta stick to it, and I know you can. Forget the numbers, just take it one day at a time, that's what I did. Now I'm back on track.

Give an update, let us know you're still doing okay :)!

ASorry for being away for so long people, I haven't given up or anything I just kinda wondered off for a bit.

I am still going strong even though my weight is barely moving, thanks for the advice Loch and I am happy to say that I am doing exactly that, taking it one day at a time.

AI think we all have highs and low times on here...I was really absent a lot for a few months...now I am on a lot again...as long as we are doing what needs done at home...we can always come back and update all our forum buddies!!

Congrats on the pull up!! Well done!

:iagree:

Sheesh - has it really been this long since an update??

What's the good word, MLB?

Hope you're well!

AI know I haven't posted in a while but it doesn't mean that I am gone, i always check in on people's diaries and post a few messages here and there.

As far as my weight goes I am still at around the same weight, with at least another 15-20 kg to lose but I am still working out each week and even though my weight isn't going down, I still see it as a good thing because my weight isn't going up either.

Also for the past 7 months I have been doing a lot of strength training so I have gained a bit of muscle, so I'm not worried to much about my weight.

I will try to post a lot more frequently on the forum but even if I don't it doesn't mean that I left. This forum has been a great source of inspiration for me and I wouldn't have been able to reach the place where I am today without all the great people on it.

Yeah, I agree 100% MLB. Some days, I just go over the diaries and updated responses in the B&A section, but I sometimes don't post. It's not that I'm upset or uninspired or anything, I just basically keep a mental track of everyone's progress, while gaining some motivation from possible new/old stories and pictures :)

I hate the dreaded plateaus, but they happen to everyone. I have yet to hear of any person who's lost significant weight not hitting one at some point. It's all a learning process, and it sounds like you know the basics of it and are doing exactly what you should be to conquer it - not giving up!

Strength training is excellent, and I'm glad to see you're still around and in good spirits (which you should be cause you've done awesomely!), MLB :)

AHaven't posted in a while but I am trying to get back into posting more, as I have fallen into a slump as far as losing weight goes. So I am coming back to this forum to try and get my motivation back.

I started a new job recently and ever sense I have been feeling tired, and haven't really been working out or when I do I don't give it 100%. Hopefully I can find my drive to workout and get back on track.

Welcome back MLB and congrats on the new job. I know starting a new job a couple years back resulted in a backslide for me until I figured out how to adjust to the new routine and I'm sure you'll be back in the swing of things soon.

AThanks guys for the support I know it won't be easy, but nothing worth doing ever is. I just gotta find the balance between the 2 and I know I'll be back on track.
