LynnZs Diary

I had so much to write and can't find time! :ack2:

Let's see, being allergic to carrots is wack--you poor thing! How bad is it?

Cute about your man trying to eat better--good for him! Most men are stubborn, I found. I'm thrilled becuase I'm finally dating someone who is not only easy going and agreeable, but willing to try new things WITH me, yay! Good luck on the 6 pack, show him how it's done! :biggrinjester:

That sucks majorly about the crappy gym. Sounds horrible. Maybe you can find SOMETHING you like about it--and I feel you on the great outdoors. I can't wait until it's light enough outside to start trail running in the forest after work!!!!!!!!!!

YAY for 135!
THAT IS HORRIBLE ABOUT YOUR DOBERMAN  :hug2: You did the right thing, though--will his new owners let you see him, ever?

Uhhgg, losing a card sucks! Are you going to cancel right away or do you think it's in the house someplace?

Also Lynn, gyms are as boring as you make them. Sounds like your routine needs to be juiced up. Sure, some gyms just give off bad vibes, but that doesn't mean you can't do fun workouts.

**Sigh** yes...I'm afraid you're right. However, I guess I call my gym boring b/c they don't have "classes" I can take...those are "fun"!! I'm stuck to doing machine work by myself .... and that to me is boring. Ideas?? I miss the kickboxing, pilates, dance and step...those workouts kept me entertained!! I enjoyed working out then.

Yeah, allergic to carrots just sounds dumb doesnt it, lol, they just make my mouth itch...so I keep eating them. I'm pretty stubborn.

Yeah, I've been reading all about PZ he sounds like he's PERFECT for you!

Oh...I pray they let me see him. The girl is a Clemson student, studying to go to vet school...so who better get my dog, eh'. She promised pics and visits...so we'll see. My heart still hurts though :( He really is the sweetest dog...and my hiking buddy :( :(

Thanks for answering my random female question in your diary ;)

So...today Obama became president...it seems like just the other day I was posting a journal in this very diary about going to hear him speak, here in columbia SC. I think I'll go dig those photos, of him, up....

I called and cancelled my card...DANGIT....oh well, guess I just helped myself save some money for a few days until the new one comes in, lol.

You're welcome! Steve should do more research on womens' cycles and weight loss, methinks ;)

PZ is picking up his brother's Doberman from Ukiah and bringing him (Bounty, named after a Reggae/Dub artist named Bounty Killa, lol!) home while his bro is in Thailand. I'm very excited, as PZ says Bounty is extremely friendly and a good boy :) I love dogs--but same deal, I work and am not around and can't have one. My cat sort of takes care of himself rather well, but he misses me. Last night we cuddled while I watched a movie on my laptop--I swear Oliver thinks he's my boyfriend! He even snores :smilielol5:

Why no free weights?

Oh, well I do free weights at home...sometimes at the gym, but I have a set at home and do those in front of the TV....
I use the gym really for the eliptical, bikes and stair climbing thing (sorry I dont know the proper name for it) oh and the ab machine thing.
ps. I may find my gym boring for another reason...its all female, not hotties to watch, lol. :Angel_anim:

and val...yes I think youre right, steve should def. study up on that :smilielol5:

What free weights do you have available at home?

How many days per week do you go to your gym?

I have weights from 2lb up to 20lb.

hmmm, well I was going 3-4 days a week...then I got bored and started going 1-2 and running at home.

I'd start doing 2 days of strength training in the gym where they have adequate weight/equipment and maybe 1 day of circuit training to give you another form of metabolic training aside from basic cardio.

okay! :)
"adequate weight" so what should I be doing at gym for strength?
ps. b/c I'm a girl and its TOM I'm still going to whine...how boreing!!

I'd set up an A routine and a B routine and simply alternate through them week to week.

A:

Squats
Glute briges
Bench Press
DB Row
Arms
Core

B:

Romanian deadlifts
Leg Press
DB Overhead press
Cable Rows
Arms
Core

I'm not sure how familar you are with weight lifting or these exercises.

I put ?? by the ones I'm not familiar w/...I can go and research them on my own, I'm sure you have the info. somewhere :) Thanks for your tips steve, I really appreciate your advice!!!!

DB Row or .

For all the exercises I'd start very conservatively with weight and do 3 sets of 8-12 reps. Once you're 100% comfortable with the movements, start adding weight. Once you're able to complete all sets and reps, increase weight by a small increment the following workout.

When you plateau in strength or you get bored, let me know and we'll switch some things up.

Oooh fun. Bridge is great for your back but you open your "heart center" more and hold it--that's build up to backbend. I do that shit everyday. HA!
Hi Lindsey my dear :waving:

Val-lol, just be happy so many people like you :)

Thank you steve :) I'll start today and let you know how it goes.

It's HUMP DAY...and its almost over...well the work day part of it anyways, Yay.

I've been eating quite a bit of honey lately, hmmm wonder why, lol.

Last night I came home, actually cooked a healthy meal!! and then SCRUBBED the bathroom...I wonder how many calories you burn from cleaning?! MY kind of cleaning...like on my hands and knees scrubbing the floor boards kind of cleaning! The bathroom SHINES, now if I can just get DH to keep it that way. Tonight I'm tackling the laundry room!! I've been on this cleaning kick lately. I just feel so motivated when I'm balancing my life instead of juggling it, lol.

They hung new pictures in my office today, yay, I work for a company that builds clutches, so I basically work w/ a bunch of guys. They bought me two new pictures, awwww.....of race cars....lol. Still...it helped to brighten up this room!! Now I just need to remember to bring my bamboo plant in!!

I've started keeping track of my calories again...I stopped for awhile, it bugs me, but I've decided I'm interested for the time being in how much I'm actually eating. I may start keeping track of it again in my diary, we'll see.

Yuck, I think I'm getting sick. I feel drained and puney. :nopity:
I had NO energy last night...so I didn't cook the meal I had planned and I didn't clean the laundry room anddd I didn't even work out. As a matter of fact I came straight home, ate a bowl of cereal, showered and crawled into bed and watched a lifetime movie, lol. DH came home around 7:30 and ate left overs :( oops. I weighed myself again this morning...135.6!! Now if I can just start getting into a strength training routine (ie. follow steves plan) and keep working on my stretching...MAYBe I can tone up and look okay!! It blows my mind how everyone carries weight differently. For 5'6 and 135lb...I should look okay. My sister-n-law...We are the exact same height and she weighs 145lbs and looks WAY better than I do!!! blah.

Val-yes the guys I work w/ are sweet :) I love working w/ guys...they are so much more chill than women!! I work w/ one other lady...and its GREAT!! Although...I've always been a "tomboy"... my bestfriends are guys. No drama w/ men :)

My little ball of fluff (7lb dog) woke me up at 4am this morning...I think he misses the doberman :( I do too. I hate waking up early! Although, I've been trying to more and more...to work on my stretching and yoga!! :)

Oh, I've also decided I'm going to TRY and keep track of when I eat, not just my calories...b/c lately I've noticed my appetite is allll over the place!! Like today...its already 9am and I'm not the least bit hungry but then some mornings I can't wait to stuff my face the second I wake up!! hmmmm. Maybe I'll see a pattern after a few months of tracking my eating and moods.

It's thursday!! One more day until the weekend!! YES!!!

LOL! Sounds fun to me (on some days, lately since I been sick, yes). Oh gawd I don't have cable but a few times in my life when I lived at the last house with no BF, I guiltily watched a Lifetime movie or two. Heh--horrible

If I was 135 I'd be THRILLED because that's my goal, but here at 141.5 or whatever, I get told I'm "skinny" and look fine. We want PICTURES of you dammit!!! I think you're delusional, you MUST look great! :D

Yes, but they can be real assholes sometimes. And sometimes I like to hang out with girls and be girly--one of my best homegirls is a lot like me and whenever one of us comes up with what we want to do, it coincides perfectly with the other one: for example one day we were coming back from partying all night in San Francisco, and she suggested we put on face masks, soak our feet in hot lavender water, drink wine, and watch Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas--no man would suggest that! It was great! She also went outside and picked rose petals for the water :D

Yeah...lifetime is a guilty pleasure...lol. well some lifetime...some of it is WAY too corny, lol. Last night was actually okay...a prison guards wife gets abducted by a prisoner...and falls in love, BAHAHAHAHAHA...:smilielol5: only on lifetime!!

Okay...I'll post a more recent pic....I have huge thighs!! Thats where all of my 135 goes, lol...or most of it anyways!

oh...true...I would like a g/f that was more my type. Sometimes I do crave girl talk...but I find it hard to find girls who arent full of drama, or create drama or want to find drama...lol. **sigh** the g/f's I had growing up and in college all have kids...boo. lol.
