I am not one to ask for "special" items on a menu...never really thought about it I guess....but the only salads they had were either loaded w/ steak or cheese or both...they had one salad w/ chicken salad...but what good is that w/ all the mayo?? So I asked if I could just have a dinner salad w/ a grilled chicken breast...and it was Great :) It even ended up being cheaper than anything else on the menu!! My bill was $12 bucks, lol. So thats good to know, I will now start making healthy requests when eating out!!

Glad you had fun with your Bro, this is awesome--I agree!! It's always Ok to make healthy requests! Have a great workout and Steve is right! :D
 
Haha, you should ALWAYS questions anyone.

Old Skool Theory states that you will use up glycogen while you weight train, leaving fat as your main energy to fuel your cardio. In reality though, MOST weight training sessions (anything anyone around here is going to be doing) isn't all that glycogen depleting in reality.

However, glycogen is a primary fuel for resistance training. So, although it may be minuscule, I would still go into it with a fresh store of glycogen.

Secondly, to lose fat, net, end-of-day energy balance is the main determinant in fat loss opposed to fat utilized during cardio.

IMO, weight lifting takes it out of you more than cardio. It is a very energy intensive process. Go into it fresh. If you aren't fresh, it is easy to sling around weights that are far from intense enough to maintain muscle while dieting.

Cardio is not real energy intensive, so save if for after.

Of course..the day I choose to wear a skirt to work...its cloudy and windy...**sigh** oh well.
Work has been picking up...which is good, I like staying busy.
I followed steves advice last night and worked on weights before running...and what do you know...I had more energy to do more reps!! I even tried a new machine, ha!!
Nothing much new is going on...I'm starting to think that I need to track my calorie intake a little better. I mean, I've been using bags to measure out my snacks and keep with me at work...to avoid over munching and have quick healthy snacks. I've been eating healthy, no red meat, no sodas, little to no processed food, little to no refined sugars...yet I'm stuck at this weight...sooo maybe I need to realllllly start counting calories.

Breakfast: Cup of Kashi cereal w/ cup skim milk.

Snack: Banana and 1 flax seed cookie.

Lunch: A bowl of special K cereal and skim milk, a handful of broccoli w/ light ranch dip.

Snack: Handful of Almonds and Raisins

Dinner: I'm thinking dinner will be a protein shake.

Tonight is kickboxing...I'm loving kickboxing...I wouldnt mind taking that class more often, if there was a gym that offered boxing I would seriously think about taking that up as a hobby, its great stress relief and fun to learn new moves...I always walk out of there feeling like I could take on the world, lol.

YAY! I have Kickboe tonight myself--SOOOOO FUN! Yesterday at the gym a trainer told me one of his clients saw me take that class and said I was the best one there--doing everything, and right. How nice of her!

Well...here I was all excited about kickboxing yesterday and it was cancelled!! We ended up doing Step and ab work...it was okay and worked for my daily workout...but I was reallllly looking forward to kickboxing.

So I got a bag of flax seed the other day...last night I was making my little bags of cereal and snacks to take to work today and I thought...I'll just throw a bit of flax seed into my cereal!!....On the package it DID say that flax seed was better ground up but I dont have a grinder and in my flax seed cookies there are whole flax seeds as well...so I thought it would be fine to pour a few whole seeds into my cereal bag.................


YUCK!!! YUCK YUCK YUCK!!!! oh my gosh it was HORRIBLE. SO...lesson learned, whole flax seeds in cereal...is nasty!! I guess I'll take the bag of seeds to EarthFair and get them to grind it for me and stick to putting the seeds in homemade bread and oatmeal!!

The front door broke this morning...my sisternlaw is WAY toooo rough on things around the house....she managed to get the glass storm door jammed this morning...I spent 15min trying to pry the thing open, I finally ended up getting a screw driver and taking the dang handle apart....**sigh** The joys of being a homeowner with my built-in handyman deployed. I was getting soooo frustrated and just wanted to give up...but I knew a front door that DIDNT open, wasnt an option...so I was late to work trying to get the door fixed, which I managed to get open but had to leave a plate off...........guess thats another object to add to my "to do" list this weekend, find a way to fix the door so that its "non-jamable" (lol, it is my journal...so I can make up words, right?)

Breakfast: 3/4 cup of special k cereal w/ skim milk and flax seeds :rolleyes:

Snack: Banana

Lunch: Lean turkey panini w/ goat cheese, tomato, and avacodo

Snack: A small handful of carmel popcorn and a few almonds and raisins (not much)

Dinner: A bowl of organic frosted flakes, yum. oh and a bite of this new peanut butter I bought called "better n peanuts" or something like that...YUCK!! I'm giving that jar AWAY!!


Tonights workout is Fit and Firm and Ab blast...

Hey girl I made the same mistake before! Only I put them in a strawberry banana smoothie- talk about eating plastic- Lesson learned indeed:) Have fun at your class tonight!

My pet peeve: people who are rough with things around the house. I know, I used to be like that as a kid!

Ugh, cancelled classes suck!! Hope you enjoyed step, anyway. Kickboe was fun for me yesterday BUT it was less intense as usual...and then this morning my run was way less intense because I chose to go run in the woods instead of the beach at 6:30am....and the COUGAR WARNING sign made me paranoid, looking over my shoulder for the first 20 minutes....and I've been tired lately. UGH!

Anyway, sorry you didn't like the flax seeds--i bought flax oil pills and I take em whenever I know I'm not going to have fish that day....do you like salmon? Muy bueno for Omega 3s. Ok, lave a great day!:D
 
Welllllllll I skipped my workout last night...I dont know why, I just didnt feel like it....I have equipment at home and so I just lifted weights there....I didnt eat that much yesterday so I figure a day off during the week cant be thattttt bad :confused:
I had to go grocery shopping and make a run to walmart...and with all of that I needed to hurry home and let my dog out. **sigh** excuses excuses...it wont be a downfall though!!

Hmmmmm whats new, OH...I went to Earthfair yesterday and stocked up on organic/health foods...I tried a LUNA bar...OH MY GOSH...the lemon zest is AWESOME, GREAT flavor and yummmmyyyyy!!! Only 180 cal...of course the sugar is 10g which I dont like...but the calories arent that bad for a snack...so I think I'll start stocking up on those!!

I've been doing a bit of research on the Master Cleanser Detox and I think I'm going to give this a try...I would love to cleanse my body and prepare it for better food intake. I'm going to go back to EarthFair today and stock up on the few items I'll need to begin this plan. I've decided I will take notes and keep posts on the progress...wish me luck :) Oh and any advice or knowledge about this fast is appreciated :) I think I'll begin the program tomorrow, if I can get all of the items needed...that way I'll have the weekend to let my body get used to fasting and see how it reacts...I dont want to start on a work day and feel bad during work or anything.

I'm getting my hair cut today....fun, I love haircuts.
Tonight is Pilates, I'm looking forward to it!!

Well its been a few days since I've visited my diary...I enjoyed a nice long weekend :)

I got off of work a little after 5pm Friday went straight home and was asleep by 7pm... :p I woke up a little after midnight and decided I should probably get ready for bed (I was still dressed and hadnt even eaten dinner or washed my face). I finally went back to sleep (ready this time) a little after 1am and slept until 9am the following morning...ahhhhhh...being lazy is GREAT!! and I soooo needed it!! I stayed at the house allllll weekend long, just cleaning and mowing the lawn, planting flowers, doing household chores, I even baked a batch of organic oatmeal cookies :p I moved my living room around and cleaned out my closet, I put everything that didnt fit me in boxes and packed in the trunk of my car to give away. It was sooo refreashing!! I never once got in my car and went anywhere...and actually enjoyed it!!
I hope everyone else had a great weekend....heres to a FAST week!!!!
I'm slammed w/ work today...but hopefully I'll have time to catch up on a few others diarys and posts :)
