Lower Calories

hi everyone! Im trying to lose about 15 pounds. Ive always been a huge eater, fast food for almost all meals all day long, snacks, soda all throughout the day.
I've tried exercize but due to a few health problems it's a bit hard, i have problems with lightheadedness and blood pressure so when I excersize even lightly my body just cant handle it well.
So i've decided to try cutting calories. I used a calorie calculator and it says for me to lose weight to only eat 1382 calories a day (and thats if im not excersizing). I'm 5'9 and weight 145, does this calorie intake sound about right to everyone? And does anyone know how quickly I might lose weight this way? I'd also be super interested to hear anyones stories if they're losing weight simply by cutting their calories!
Thanks everyone!

hey there, well i started out just cuttin cals and lost.........but it really kicked in when i started to exercise. So yaeah ya can loose just cutting cals!!! welcome to the site keep posting and good luck!!!! STAR:p

Hello and welcome! I am a low calorie eater(lol most days)and
it definatley works and like "star"said and with exersice it works
even better!Good luck, Tammy:D :D

Well its not just the number of calories, but the type and quality of each calorie. Fast food calories just will not cut it, they are of horrendous quality and poor nutrition. Only leaving you fatter yet your body still hungers for the nutrients its not getting. I stopped counting calories. All I did to lose my first 50 lbs in 4 months, was stop eating fast food, and eat only lean meats and vegetables as my dietary staples. Now that I have finally introduced exercise into my diet, I have gone back to my normal eating habits, with occaisional fast food / junk food, and my weight has stablized despite the changes and is still trending downwards.

Wow thanks everyone! That's super helpful.. I AM still eating fast food for most of my calories, hahaha.. Im definatly going to cut it out completely though. It's addicting when you've been eating it nearly everyday of your life! (Ick, I cant even imagine what my cholesterol is like.. haha)

Will this sudden drop in calories affect my metabolism? Im eating about 1400 now, but before this I would just eat non stop all day long, im sure my calorie intake was over the roof. I didnt taper down at all, just 3 days ago started eating the 1400 a day. I always hear how your metabolism can get slow, that's scarey to me!
