lower back

i need to strengthen my lower back to make my core a little stronger, but do not here much talk about the lower back, when I really think it is one of the most important/fragile muscles...anyone have any good exercises besides back extensions???? or does anyone at least agreee with me that the lower back is neglected???
 
lower is bigtime neglected! I preach constantly about working it.

Try:

good mornings;
straight-legged deadlifts;
a good rowing machine.
 
Here are some core exercises that target the lower back:

Cobras - floor or Stability ball
Stability ball extensions
Opposite arm-leg reach on stability ball

Remember to keep your abdominals drawn in
