Lower abs and the pool

I have been doing a lot of swimming lately, I really enjoy being in the water and it's an awesome cardio workout, so I was thinking, I know that they say that one way of getting a good workout on your lower abs is to do a lot of leg lifts and what not, so I was curious, if I were to put my arms up on the side of the pool with my back flat against the side and kick my legs in a circular motion (Like riding a bike), do you think the resistance of the water would be a good workout for the lower abdomen? As long as I keep it tight while doing it?

I would keep my legs straight. Remember, whatever resistance the water adds is not nearly as much as it subracts. Unless your legs are made of lead. You might want to try this on a hanging leg raise station or hanging from a bar.
