Hola!
Around xmas, I was 226 or so...then I dropped to roughly 204 by the middle/end of February, right now being about the same. Most of this was from lack of eating (bedtime was at 5 am, up at 230, bowl of cereal, go to work at 4pm, have 2 tunafish sandwiches at 8 pm for lunch, 3-4 cans of pop throughout the night, get home and make a frozen pizza). Also at work, I unload trucks, so that's a good 8 hours of walking, most of it briskly. I was at I think 36-38 for waist, and after the weight loss people commented on how skinnier I looked, both in the face and the waist. Problem is, when I checked my waist, I'm at 40-41 now.
I've never been this high, ever. I don't get how people can notice I look skinnier, I notice I look skinnier, yet somehow I added an inch or two? I wasn't measuring the hips, I was measuring the "height" of the beer belly, so I doubt it's a measurement error. Also, it was through walking, and I'm always told that walking burns fat off your belly more than running (to some extent).
I've been a weight lifter, on and off, for the past 9, almost 10 yrs. I ran x-country, rowed, etc.......and I therefore basically diversed myself in topics such as nutrition, health and fitness, and anything else I could get my hands on, so I know a great deal about those issues, and yet I'm still confused.
The only choices I have are- could be all the pop I drank, and continue to drink, but I've always drank like this and I've actually been cutting back the past 2-3 months. Maybe a measurement error? Possibly, yet highly doubtful. Anything else anyone can think of would be GREATLY appreciated...thanks all
