Losing stomach fat

Im not sure if Im posting in the right place but anyways, I have a thin layer of fat on my stomach and I want it gone so my abs show better, but I dont want to lose muscle in the process. Anyways my friend suggested to do ab excersices first thing in the morning before I eat anything so that my body has to dig into the fat around my stomach (His theory anyways). Also I thought of maybe wrapping a garbage bag around my torso and jogging, any of these good ideas? Will they work so that it does not interfere too much with muscle gain? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

i've never heard of anybody burnin fat by doin ab exercises first thing in the morning. but, i have heard of people burnin fat by doin cardio first thing. doin ab exercises will just build muscle under the fat. whoever told you that wasn't telling all truth, sorry.

You can't target fat lose I'm afraid, it doesn't matter what muscles you exercise you're body will take the energy from all over your body. Plus, as you're working out on an empty stomach I imagine you'll probably end up losing muscle too

Eating a decent breakfast is essential to weight loss, food is your friend and you need a constant supply of it to stay lean and healthy (try eating 5-6 smaller meals a day). If you eat 500 calories less than your maintanance level (work out your BMR online) you will lose weight. It's also worth doing a full body workout around 3 times a week to minimise muscle loss during this time

Avoid things that sound too good to be true or that seem to go against proper judgement. Wrapping your body in plastic is not good judgement, nor is working out without getting your body well fed. Eating right is the first thing you have to do, stay just under maintenence, getting lots of veggies and plenty of protein. Healthy fats of course, as your body needs fat to lose fat.

Squats and deadlifts are 2 of the best exercises for core strength. Your abs are doing a hell of a lot of work when you have hundreds of pounds over your shoulders, or when you are picking up hundreds of pounds off the floor. Basically, get a good full body workout with compounds, throw in some ab work if you'd like, combine with good diet, some HIIT, some longer SS runs, and you will shed fat and lose it like a bad habit.
