Lose Skin - Need Urgent HELP Please :'(

hey guys,

i would like your help to help me and my disgusting body evolve into a new body.

I started at 330 pounds in Feb of 2006, and by December i lost 88 pounds.

And the following year i gained 33 pounds but by its end i lost another 88 pounds.

so far am at 172 pounds, and have been that way the past year.

But i would like you to help me on how to remove the excess skin that is making me disgusted at myself so far ( NOT forgetting the dreaded stretch marks that make me look like a 100 years old .. when am only 24 )

I hate looking at myself in the mirror, dont like to go swimming as that will make me remove the shirt and :bncry:

So please if you can help me out with any exercises or anything, i am fully under your controll

i started in a gym about a week ago and am down to 170 pounds.

i would love to have a nice firm body, but so far am just .... :bncry:

Thanks alot

Just some pix to show what i mean

PS. hope you dont mind the boxers, as i wanted something to show how bad my body is right now .....

The couch over there told me to start with cardio, like 20 min on treadmill, 20 min on bicycle and 20 min on the autocross machine ( the like like skating and cycling in the same time i guess), also 5 min on the machine that like your climbing stairs

and then a body work out

Lat Pull down
Row
Chest press
chest fly
Leg Press
some other leg exercise where you sit and you pull your leg up to train hamstring
shoulders
biceps
triceps

all are 12~15 rep x 3 sets

I dont know how effective this exercises is to be honest, so this is why i came here looking for your advices and techniques.

Please help a brother out :biggrinsanta:

Thanks

There have been a few other threads on this subject. I think the consensus is there is no consensus. Some people have gone from major weight loss with no loose skin, others have seen their loose skin tighten up over time and others have been stuck with loose skin or had to resort to surgery.

Tough situation my friend, I would suggest seeing a doctor and asking him/her personally if fitness can solve this problem, that isn't fat it's excess skin. That's a whole different ball game. Though I do wish you the best of luck, and hope this issue become's resolved.

yea its a big problem and i am trying to find out how to solve it.

i can loose weight, but how can i increase the elasticity of the skin ?

is it by increasing my intake of collagen and protein, while also building muscles?

my plan at the gym is to get big muscles, as big muscles take a good amount of skin around it, and then reduce the size later i hope >.>

in other threads, they mentioned doing exercises such as the

dead lift

oblique exercises

and some others ?

can you guys give me a couple of other exercises i can incorporate into my training?

thank you all for the great help :)

In my opinion free weight's are the best method of muscle building weight wise. I would suggest doing squat's, bench press, dumbell curl's, dumbell fly's and dead lift's. These are all great muscle building workout's, don't forget to do leg's though they are the biggest muscle in our body. Also a high protein diet will help you put on some weight. Don't forget cardio as well, it will tighten everything up :) Goodluck

As you're only 24, hopefully you'll see some improvement over time as your skin should tighten a little. Not sure how much though as you've got quite a lot there.
Another option would be to train heavy and build up muscle, if you could stay quite lean but get up to about 220lbs then you'll have a little more meat to fill your skin

The couch over there told me to start with cardio,
Not sure you should be taking training advice from a couch though ;)

hehehe my bad about the spelling :)

thank you guys for the advice

right now i finished my first month at the gym working with the coach's routine

but i will start with your advices next time am in the gym

Can you guys give me a few routines that help with the mid section , * i know i cannot just do one part of my body *

but if you can name me a few exercies i can do that can target my midsection so i can start doing it from now and focus more on it as thats where all the fat is on at the moment

Here are some of the exercises you mentioned

squat's
bench press
dumbell curl's
dumbell fly's
dead lift's

Quick Q, its better to do cardio after weight lifting right ?

so if i go to the gym 5 days a week, should i do all the exercises you guys mentioned for this month to see an improvment, or should i add them to what am doing at the moment * machines at the gym * ?

the problem is there is sooo many things on this forum that i really got so lost reading all the info available.

Plus, what i would hate to have is a very large and wide upperbody, i would like to have a good size upper and lower body, not too wide.

My wish is to have a sculpted and toned body, hopefully with your help i can achieve that, even if it takes me years ! As its my top priority now =)

Congrats on the weight loss! The problem you're facing is simply extra skin. Gaining muscle, will stretch the skin out a bit, and make you look better. You can pick up some skin toning cream at a pharmacy too. Over time, it will tighten up a little bit, but I highly doubt you will look 'toned'. You're going to have to see a doc about it, if you want it completely gone. I'm in a some what similar boat as you; lost lots of weight, and the skin isn't as tight as I would like. I will definitely seek professional once I'm down to the weight I want to be at (they have minimally invasive procedures to deal with excess skin these days, so there wont be a huge worry about getting anything cut)

good luck!

Hope this isnt too far off topic but I was wondering if theres something that can be done before loose skin appears? Like a cream or what not. Im loosing weight and starting to see a little loose skin and want to avoid what the op is going through.

hey guys its been a while i havent updated my thread

i have been hitting for three months now, but basically just doing upper body exercises 3 days a week and lower body excersises 2-3 three times a week, nothing too severe , basically compound excersises with isolated bi and tri excercises

i have gone from 78 kg to 72 now, and the fat percentage have dropped a little bit also

i will look into the minimally invasive treatments around here, and see whats the catch :p

i have some pix that i took and will upload them soon

My major problem is the lose skin in the belly area, if its gone you can almost see the diffinition of the stomach so i will be starting a new intermediate work out programme that i got from body building website , and hopefully it will show some results

First off man, don't get down on yourself about the loose skin or the . There's always something you can do to get rid of it, even if it's surgery. The weight loss is something you should be super proud about man! That's great!

It's different for everyone though, I've heard the same as the other guys. Occasionally it will start to tighten up on its own, but usually you need to see a doctor about it. That would be your best bet. If you get a good one, they'll know what to do, whether it be surgery, maybe a skin tightening serum, I'm not positive.

As for your workout, it looks like you're throwing in a low of extra stuff. Maybe try toning it back a bit, eating more food, and going from there? If I saw correctly, you had 3 different calf raise exercises in the same day. Just choose one and alternate them if you need to, on different days.

Well done junkno. Bigtime improvement. Im not gonna tell ya to tweak anything right now because youve obviously found something that your body responds to. Id say run with what ya did to get these results for a while longer and then check back if ya run into any roadblocks. Dont try to overfix whats not broken.

thank you for the encouragment guys

i am starting an intensive 3 month work out program with a great trainer, and i am looking to become even better =D

i wont stop till i reach my dream body =]

Thank you all, i will keep this thread updated with the program and pix
