Loose that last bit of belly fat!

Hi,

I am new to the forums, just signed up today. This appears to be a pretty good forum, I hope to help others get to their goals just as I am getting close to my own.

My question is a weight loss question, I started off at 265 lbs, I am 6' 1". I started to diet and exercise back in February of this year. The routine started off with kickboxing, because I love doing it. For now it's in my basement, I also do strength training with free weights and a gym, and have been progressing further in weight to build muscle at the same time. For the last month and half the strength training has fallen back due to a back injury as well as the kickboxing, so I moved to a treadmill and jog on it 5 days a week for 30 minutes a day.

Now so far I am currently at about 185 lbs. I have not checked the weight in the last month, because at this point I don't know if it is loose skin or really fat that is left around the lower belly area, and some love handles are still left. My goal is a 6 pack, I have never had one and I want it badly, especially after all of the hard work over the last year.

I find that the treadmill is really helping to melt the rest of the fat off, I have started back into my weights, at a lesser weight now since my muscles have calmed down since injuring my back.

Family (mainly my mother and mother-in-law), and co-workers have said that I need to slow down on the exercise and eat more. I am not on any strict diet, I just eat healthier. More good carbs, veggies, whole grains, lean cuts of meat and so on. Yet these individuals say my face is looking gaunt, whereas others say I am looking good. With clothes on I look slim and fine, yet of course there is no sick pack and the last bit of fat is still hanging around. I don't want to look gaunt, that was not my goal obviously.

I figure the treadmill would cause the fat to burn quicker around the belly since the legs had to get the energy from the closest source, the belly. I have been on the treadmill for the last month and a half.

Any suggestions as to what other exercises I could do to melt off the last bit of belly fat and is there a way to possibly put some more weight to my face. Or am I just worrying too much and people are just not used to seeing me with this much weight off.

I don't really have a goal with regards to weight, I figure 180 to 185 with a six pack. But then I wanted to bulk up to about 200 to 205 with lean muscle.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
