Loose skin after pregnancy

IDK folks.. I think it depends on how young you are and how must elasticity you naturally have to your skin. I had an emergency c-section and the *tiny* bikini line scar they promised me turned out to be 7 inches in length. Not only that, but I have lost much feeling in the area of my scar.

When I had my daughter I had tons of stretch marks lots of belly fat and flab all over the place.. However as each year has passed my body has been able to recover that much more. She's 4 now, and while I still don't look like my pre-baby self I do look stunning if I say so myself lol. My stretch marks have faded in color and I have a bit of belly pudge but not anything too crazy (I've never had a flat stomache anyway, so why would I mind this now).. Besides the nasty scar, stretch marks, and numbness I have my pre-baby body. I think maybe some people, if they have the patience for it, should wait it out a few years because the extra time might help the body to heal. its a slow going process though for sure!

is it ideal to have a weight loss surgery?

it's a case-to-case basis, jhonny. Go for the conservative method of losing the post-partum fat before considering going under the knife.

Loose Skin/Stretch marks

I have had two c sections. I have a ton of loose skin and I don't think it will go away. The problem is that if you stretch your skin out too much, it loses its elasticity. I was up to 286 with my first kid, and at 215 with my second. I am currently 182 and my goal is about 160ish. I made my hubby promise me a tummy tuck when we can afford it. I truly believe this is the only way to get rid of the loose skin.

I have tried palmer's cocoa butter and bio oil. I think those products work better while you are pregnant and your skin is in the process of stretching.

I bumped into a tummy tuck review over the net:

More than 80% liked the benefits from the procedure. Going through the reviews, I think that the success of the procedure largely depends on your aftercare, next to the procedure itself.

My daughter was born almost 5 years ago via emergency c-section. I was 120 when I got pregnant and then gained 54 lbs, my daughter was 8lbs 11 ounces. I am currently 135, and have been working out for a year now, I work out 5 days a week, primarily weight training but 3 to 4 days of cardio (treadmill or the bike) when I can find the time. I have yet to lose the loose skin of having a baby! it can be very frustrating but I don't want to resort to surgery yet, as I watched a show where a woman had one done and almost fainted....they literally stich your stomach muscles into a girdle. If anyone knows any helpful tips to reduce this problem area it would be greatly appreciated.

Giving birth often results in body changes that may adversely affect a woman's body image. Thus it's important for women to know what changes have occurred, which ones they can affect by their own efforts

Running.... I swear by it. My son is 1.5yrs old now and my stomach is almost right at what it was before I got pregnant. I still have the small little flap of skin around the C-Section inscision but as far as loose skin it's almost gone.

The reason I attribute it to running is because when I started my weight loss journey I was running like crazy! My stomach shrank a LOT! Then once I lost a good chunk of weight [I was also doing Turbo Jam too]. I started P90X... I didn't really lose any weight. I lost inches more then anything... I finished P90X and started my running again and my stomach tightened even more!

YUP the freaking loose skin! I am not one of the lucky ones who has elastic skin at all... I am saving money for a tummy tuck.

Hi all,
I'm a mum of 3 healthy boys. I have experienced a lot of softness in the appearance of my body and especially around my tummy area..the classic muffin top look.. I was very unhappy about my appearance and have found a solution and is truly delighted to share it with you.. no cosmetic surgery involved, just a healthy eating plan, combination of exercise and great ongoing support. I've looked at many different ways of loosing weight and have tried various diets in the past, none of which worked in the long term and none gave me the results that I was looking for. This programme does work. I am thrilled to bits!

so this 'solution' you found was a combination of healthy eating and exercise along with support? Thats great to hear! Most people think you have to start some fancy program or pill. But good old fashioned "eat less move more" wins again :)

You seem a little quiet about your 'solution' as to what it entails. If you have anything to share, please do so publicly. Those "pm me for info" suggestions are considered spam...if thats where your headed.

btw, we do have to delete multiple posts..not sure why you post the same thread three times, but we'll leave this one up, that way its less confusing for everyone ;)

I have 2 kids.. 3 1/2 and 1 1/5.. Earlier this year I was 160 lbs and I've lost 30 lbs from begining of spring to end of summer and I did it by going for walks with my kids in their wagon. It started off as slow walks but then got up to power walking and for about 30 minutes. I also started TurboJam and thats what really helped me lose the extra weight! If you do the Ab exercises along with the cardio you will see great results I promise. and I'm not trying to sell anything, I dont work for the company at all.. I just had awesome results with Turbojam.

Have you tried Body Magic?

I am a mother of 5 boys (including a set of twins). My pregnancy with my twins totally stretched my stomach out of shape as they were carried full term (one twin was 7lbs and the other was 6lbs 10 oz). Needless to say, I was left with a lot of excess belly skin - the infamous 'Mother's Apron' and this really affected my self esteem. Like many of you, I had seriously been thinking about having plastic surgery to correct the problem. However, I was recently introduced to a phenomenal product called Body Magic. It is a reshaping garment that was designed by an orthapedic surgeon and an engineer. Let me tell you - this garment does wonders! It is plastic surgery in a bag without the costs or risks associated with surgery. It lifts the breasts, cinches the waistline, flattens the belly, shapes the buttocks, slims saddlebags, and provides great back support. What's more is that it is actually pretty comfortable to wear. With consistent use of the Body Magic garment, many women have seen permanent reshaping in their body. I have only been wearing mine for about 3 weeks and I can already see a noticeble improvement in the shape of my waistline. Best of all, I feel like a million dollars in my clothing and my self confidence is back. You can find out more about the garment at .

my problem is not the skin its the stretch marks those will never go away so no matter what i do my tummy will be loose cause of them they are horrible huge things some almost an inch wide my 5 foot body was not made to carry and 8lb baby

I heard about something called a derma roller for stretch marks. I plan to try it. You can google it to find out mor information.

I recently joined ardyss. How is your business? How are you marketing? I haven't done much, but friends and family are quite impressed with the products. My back feels great. I have worn it ab 4 times, here and there and my constant back ache doesn't exist anymore. have three kids and after each pregnancy the back ache worsened untill now it was almost constant. has definitely helped.

To all of you who have the loose skin and tummy flab after pregnancy: hang in there. I just had my third kid and I've got the tummy again. So far it goes away each time with healthy meal plans and exercise. I run a free weight loss training site, and I use my own program each time after having a kid. It works slowly, and permanently. Unfortunately, I don't know of any healthy technique that eliminates the flab fast.

With a healthy meal plan and exercise, you can expect to lose 1-2 lbs of fat a week. Remember that sometimes you can lose fat without losing weight (if muscle gains are canceling out the weight loss.) In that case, you still lose inches and look and feel better.

It's taken me about a year after each pregnancy to look back to normal- and I'm a fitness trainer!

Hi! I am not a new mom but soon I will be. That’s why I have started yoga. I think you should also do yoga. You shouldn’t do any heavy exercises. Yoga will also endow you with mental strength. Hypnosis therapy is also very effectual in loosing weight. I think you should try it once.

hi there your write ive had 4 kids not bye c section . and the only way to lose the tummy is to walk places . and eat senabliy . i eat less fatty stuff and walk all over plus clean around the house . and ive just got one off those slendertone belt so im gone try that

Skin can become very loose and wrinkled after pregnancy. This is simply because the skin has stretched out nearly to its maximum during pregnancy. You might be concerned about this loose skin after baby. It can be tightened with some of these techniques. You can tighten up your stomach and might be able to look even better than pre-pregnancy!
