Looking for some feedback! Thanks for your time :)

Hey everyone!

I started off at 250 lbs and am now at 160, but I am still looking to lose about another 30 lbs. I am curious whether or not you believe this to be a realistic goal. Also, I am wondering how much weight I have left to lose in order to be able to go out in a bikini without being embarassed or shunned from the beach.

If you want to add me as a friend, I could really use the support!

I appreciate any feedback you can give me.

(The last pic of my back is an older pic, but I'll be posting a newer one by tonight for any feedback you might have)

How tall are you? I think you look great. It looks like the rest of your weight is in your tummy and thighs. Your arms look great and your face does too. You are a very beautiful girl. ;) Too bad you don't live closer to me! lol

I am about 5'9'', maybe a little taller lol and thank you for the compliment! It really means a lot! I'm still very insecure about my looks. I'm really having trouble losing weight in my arms and legs :( I run every day and lift every other day, focusing on my legs, triceps, biceps, back and chest muscles. Also, I eat six small meals a day, usually including grilled chicken breast, protein shakes or bars, rice and green beans. There are days when i feel discouraged and don't keep to the diet, because I haven't been seeing any results, and end up eating like an entire bag of reese's peanut butter cups and whatever else I can my hands on lol I like to bake, so sometimes I'll go ahead and make a cake, pie or cupcakes and just eat them all.

Thank you for calling me beautiful! Really, no one has ever told me that before. You're really cute too! Do you think I could wear a bikini? If not, how much weight do you think I'd have to lose before I could? I'm dying to wear one this summer!

you look pretty good

At you height and given you are doing some weight training I think maybe 140-145lbs is a good goal. You have to pick a weight that is healthy for you and maintainable. Do you have a picture showing your back? I always carry a layer on my back but on it me it goes first. The last place I lose weight is my belly :(.

You also have to take into consideration what type of frame you have. I am 5'9" and have a large frame, so at 160 I would begin to look sickly thin, as I have been that weight before and everyone constantly made comments. While you could stand to tighten up your belly area, I really don't see another 30 pounds coming off your frame.

To give you an idea. For a large frame at 5'9" the ideal normal weight range would be 149-170. With a medium frame it would be 139-153 and with a small frame it would be 129-142. I wouldn't beat myself up about it, as the weight you are now is healthy, but maybe just come to the conclusion that it is going to take some time to get the last bit off.

You obviously know what you are doing, so keep doing it and eventually the weight will come off. As long as you are creating a deficit with dieting or exercise, you will eventually break through the plateau. Good luck and I think you look wonderful!

I can post a pic of my back by tonight at the latest, and I'd appreciate any further feedback you can give me! It's so frustrating that my belly is the last place for me too! My arms are always the first, besides my boobs :/ lol it sucks that I've gone from a C to an A!

Thank you so much for the feedback! 140-145 does seem like a more reachable goal, rather than the daunting 130 I had originally planned on. Do you think that after losing 15 pounds I could finally wear a bikini? I'm dying to wear one this summer!

You've been really helpful! Thank you :)

Thank you for the compliment! I'm hoping that I will break through the plateau as well, because I've been feeling very discouraged lately about my weight loss progress.

Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to tighten up my tummy? I tend to carry a lot of weight there so it's been difficult for me to target that area. At the current momment all I am doing to work that area is a side ab workout involving free weights.

I really appreciate your feedback and your support, it is much needed!

This is an older picture of my back. I'll try to get a more recent picture up by tonight for your feedback. Also, I'm twisting in this pic so it's not a completely accurate depiction of what my back looks like. I'll try to take one full on to try and capture what it looks like.

Thank you for your help!

I think you look fantastic but like someone else said, toning up would do good! =D

Btw, I'm from Berks County, the Poconos is beauutiful, Id' love to go there more often!

The problem is that I already weight lift every other day, focusing on the muscles in my legs, back, chest, triceps and biceps. Also I have an ab routine and can't seem to look toned. Also, I run everyday for several miles and eat chicken, rice, green beans, protein bars and shakes.

Do you have any suggestions that might help me look more toned? Everyone keeps saying that, and the feedback is very welcome and helpful, but I would also like know how I could appear more toned.

Please help me out because I'm very frustrated with my lack of progress.

And I love living here! It's wonderful :) I grew up in Phoenix, AZ so all the green trees are just so beautiful to me!

If no one has ever called you beautiful before, I'd really like to see what all the other women look like in your town. You would certainly turn my head if you walked past in a bikini...and, uh, my wife wasn't standing next to me. :D All joking aside, you really are gorgeous.

At 5' 9" tall, getting to 130 pounds would be very difficult. Based on what you look like at 160, I think you would have to lose quite a bit of muscle to get there. I really don't see a whole lot more that can come off you right now, maybe ten pounds.

Most likely you've reach a stubborn plateau. I personally found it nearly impossible to lose any more weight once I got down to a fairly low body fat percentage. In hind sight I wish I had let up on the cardio for a while and spent a period of time trying to build muscle. I'm not necessarily saying that is what you should do though. It sounds like you have a good exercise routine and it sounds like you are eating healthy. At least when you're not eating cake and peanut butter cups. LOL

How long have you been stuck at 160? Sometimes the last few stubborn pounds take a while to come off.

If you used to weigh 250lbs, I can see how that could have given you self esteem problems...but your not 250 anymore. Your very pretty and have a great body. I know millions of people that give anything to have your figure. If you wanna lose a few more pounds, thats your call....30 is a bit much.

Look....put on that bikini and flaunt it girl!

Great job on the loss so far! I started at a similar weight so I know where you're coming from. :)

Personally, I don't think you have 30 pounds left to lose...15-20 sounds more reasonable to me at your height and where you seem to be now.

That toned look won't happen until your body percentage goes down a bit more (losing a bit more fat). It doesn't matter how many crunches you do, abs won't show up until your BF% goes down. The same goes with many other muscle groups. :) Just stick with it and you'll see some more definition in the coming weeks!

And about the bikini, I'd LOVE to see you in a bikini right now if that helps any. Don't be afraid to strap one on and flaunt it! You're gorgeous! :)

I have truly been surprised by the comments I have received on this site! Everyone has been so supportive and encouraging and I truly appreciate it. It has been my dream for a long time to have any guy find me even remotely attractive!

I have gotten mixed comments about how much weight I have left to lose, ranging between none (and just toning up) to approximately 20 pounds. I wish all I had to do was tone up! But as you mentioned, I do already have a decent exercise routine and generally healthy diet, so I should appear toned, but I certainly do not. haha I just wish the cake and peanut butter cups would stop calling to me! Some days I just get so discouraged with my stalled progress that I can't help but turn to food to ease the discontent.

I have been stuck at 160 for approximately the past month. Usually I lose about two pounds per month. I realize that this is not a long time at all to be stuck at this weight, but with summer already here I'm just very frustrated that I'm kind of stalled at this size! I really thought that this would be the summer I could wear a bikini and feel confident in it. I just really want to lose my tummy to get that sexy flat and toned appearance. Also, I would like to lose some extra fat on my upper thighs so that they don't touch anymore.

Thank you! I think it will take some time before I shed that former self image. This site has really started to make me realize that maybe it isn't accurate as I thought it was. Everyone has been so nice!

I already have two bikinis kind of gathering dust in my closet haha, but I'm thinking of taking the rest of my progress pictures in one of them to see what others think.

I'll probably post some pics by tonight at the latest. I look forward to your feedback!

Thank you for your response! So you think I should just stick with my routine and wait it out, even though I've sort of hit a plateau? I was hoping that there might be something else I could do, in addition to my current routine, to speed up that fat loss.

Your response in particular has motivated me to post my next progress pics with me in my bikini! I look forward to your continued support and responses :) I'll probably be posting some pics of me in my bikini by tonight!

Well it's possible you could add to your current routine and/or modify your diet (eat slightly less calories). It's possible that what you're eating and burning are now the same so you're not losing any more weight. What worked before won't work forever because your body burns much less calories at 160 pounds than it did at 250 pounds. Not just exercising...everything...sleeping, sitting on the couch watching TV, etc.

While a month might be too soon to say that this is the case, it's always possible. It's also possible that your body is just holding onto water right now and you may suddenly see a few pounds drop off the scale soon. This has happened to me personally lately as I get closer to my goal weight...I lose weight in "whooshes" where it'll stay pretty much the same for 2 weeks before suddenly dropping 2-5 pounds. This may be worth a read on the subject.

And yes, I'd love to see the next progress pics in a bikini! I'm sure everybody else around here would too! You really do look good, don't think otherwise! :)

Hey everyone! I posted the bikini pics on the "before and after...and in between" part of this site. I would really appreciate your suggestions as to how to reach my ideal!

Thank you for all your suggestions and support so far! You have all been very helpful :)

You look great!

I think if you keep at it you'll hit a point where you feel good at a certain weight. You're a very attractive girl don't be so hard on yourself.

WOW! Congrats on your awesome success! You're looking awesome. I'm an inch taller than you, and I'd like to get down to around 160, too. Your arms look amazing! :D I'm so jealous. I know what you mean about the no-touching-thighs, too. I think I've had DREAMS about them!

Keep up the awesome work. :]
