Looking for a good online store to buy a gi...

My trusty 14 oz adidas gi is starting to get a bit dingy and I'd like to have a new one for Canada...

Anyone here ever bought anything online? The only stores I know of that are trustworthy are Century, Karate depot, and sakura. KD sells the house brand and century gis, sakura sells tokaido and blitz, but I'm kind of partial to adidas or kamikaze...

Anyone have any experience with other online outlets?

Aevans, the only online MA store I use is for my Kendo and Kenjutsu stuff but that was a bit back. Hopefully after school is over I can go back to Kendo. Bugei.com is really expensive though.

I just usually use Century since they're right down the street from my house. In fact, Mike, the guy who started Century lives here in Oklahoma. He started with the old PKA circuit (ala Superfoot and Benny 'the Jet') selling his stuff on tables which were made in his grandmother's garage. Anyway, that was a beautiful story for no reason. ;)

I know it's not exactly mail order but I find Century's prices are really good even if their quality isn't the best. But I suppose their stuff lasts as long as anyone elses.

Actually I found that the Kamikaze web site sells both kamikaze and adidas...

My sensei is friends with the dude who runs kamikaze, so I can get a gi cheap.

14 oz Kamikaze Monarch for less than 90 bucks :)

I know of an online store. Several students in my class have ordered from and have been quite pleased with their products. The business is run by Ikeda Sensei, a prominent figure in the aikido and iaido circles. The products tend to be of high quality but are not particularly cheap. They do sell an 8.5 oz. and a 12 oz. karate/kung fu style dogi, lighter than the 14 oz. you've been using. But you've probably already replaced your gi by now.

Oh, well - the link to their product catalog page is

*shrug* Possibly worth checking out.

The only online Martial Arts store I've ever used is KD. I buy most of my stuff either straight through my instructer or through the school I train at. It's really conveinet when where you train sells you everything you need.

Personaly I prefer Century brand Gi's thats what my past 2 have been.

To each their own.
