Lol abs.

Okaaaay, my abs are only hard when I tense them, I can only feel them when tense and can't even see them when tensed. I know I have to drop my body fat to be able to see them but shouldn't I be able to atleast feel them without tensing?
 
depending on your body fat..
Abs are not magical muscles, when your biceps are relaxed they are not hard.. same goes for the abs.. the lines inbetween are less visible and the muscle are not as pronounced when they are not tensed.
 
i doubt you can push your finger through your body, you feel them.. you just dont know its your abs.. its your abs that stopps your finger when you push it into your stomach:p
 
Its like this...

You are sitting are a chair, the ass part is made out of hard cedar wood. However you come along and put a thick soft pillow on top of it. Poke your finger on that chair all you want but you aren't going to feel that wood....ha wood.

That layer of fat over your abs is going to not only stop you from seeing your abs but feeling them as well. So drop that body fat and you know stop poking yourself so much.
 
I've been doing sit ups and other types of sit ups for 5 months now and I only started cardio the other day, possibly the problem?
 
there is no problem. Lower your body fat and your abs will be more prominant.
You can do that with cardio and dieting.

err. actually i was serious, i dident know that. since the abs are soft (when unflexed) and when you push it they will go inwards with your finger i figured you wanted to make them so hard that they would be felt even when they were unflexed.

Your bodyfat needs to be very low to achieve what you're speaking of.. Your abs would also need to be decently built.

Yeah, do like 4 sets every 3 days. Twists are good to, make your torso and legs at a 90 degree angle, with only your butt on the floor, take a medicine ball and touch the floor, side to side.
 
Listen to these guys Pojo,
Its all about busting out a few hard reps. doing lots of reps will not do enough. Want big abs? Train them like you would train other body parts.
