Live links in Sig Line

Make separate threads on each topic.

1. How about being able to put live links to our journals?
2. And, allowing "limited in size" signature pics in our sig line below our posts.
3. Increasing the line limits from 3 to about 4 (or what is agreeable).

Best wishes,

that would be awesome!

Sean has made it clear that this will never happen. Sorry.

The Weight Loss Forum has it, but the Fitness Forum cannot?

Here is proof.

Both members (one long term and one not) have links to their photos and journals.

Sometimes when looking over the weight loss forum (in general), it seems we get "second fiddle" to them.

If regular forum members on the Weight Loss forum can have it why can't we?

What is the reason? Why this rather obvious difference?

You could always set length limits.

In other words, before the member obtains the priveledge of being allowed to have a link in the sig line a person would have to be a member for a certain designated time period (or posts or a combination of both) to earn this right if you are concerned with spam and what not. Obviously this can be turned on and off just by the mods having the right to have links and resizing their own avatars on this forum.

Additionally, you asked for different threads to be made. This was completed.

I would now appreciate you (sean, or another mod) addressing each "individual" suggestion I made in my original post and would appreciate you addressing my concerns and points in this post. Thank you. :)

I responded to all threads.

Furthermore the wlf has small signatures allowed, 2 lines. They get the html because of those ticker things I think. These are two different forums.

Sean has stated that html will not be activated in signatures. The only people who will have access to it is mods, even though most dont use it.

I guess that decision ends any mutually constructive dialogue.

Or is he "open" to a "constructive" conversation on it? Leading to a possibility in changing his mind?

Best wishes

If no one has the "balls" to say it, I do.

At the moment, this isnt my job, its yours.

Appropriate communication between you and AllCdnBoy on these suggestion topics needs to exist.

And dont play on my words, you know what I am getting at.

Its likely the response would be much swifter if it came from a Mod/Adm rather than a regular forum member.

IMO, you should have (if you havent already) pointed AllCdnBoy to these thread suggestions so he can review the contents and provide his feedback.

All of the suggestions are from members that mean well and have good intentions on attempting to improve forum experience.

Thus far there has been none, and I have seen him online--sometimes for long durations.

Most would welcome a direct response from AllCdnBoy.

Most suggestions are just hanging with no updates and no conclusion.

IMO, the response from Mods/Admin has been something to be desired.

Just like the rep thread. I personally believe enough time has passed for "someone" within the administration to GET SOMETHING DONE, or "regularly update the members on its "status".

IMO, if you want more suggestions or members making suggestions while believing they mean something--then:

The feedback from mods/admin needs improvement.

Mod/admin feedback influences member forum experience, and IMO needs revised for the common good of the forum.

I rarely come out this bold. But it needs to be said. And there needs to be improvement.

(The tone of this post, is a positive one.)

Best wishes,

Tony responded, he already talked to Sean and he said no. We're not here to beg and plead for you. You want links in your sig when he already said no, go for it.

And I have been out of the rep thread for a while, but I'll look into it and settle in once and for all, but don't be mad when you don't like it.

Where in my post am I mad.

I dont get mad. This is stupid. But, I do care about the forum. I never gave an explicit opinion on the current system, because its not finished and I mentioned this in that thread. And, I made no vote one way or the other.

This isnt a self serving agenda.

I state my view as I see it.

Mods need to improve communication and its lacking.

And, at the end of my post, I stated the tone was positive.

Did you even read the rest of my post, or did you see the word mad and completely ignore the rest? Let's keep this about live links, okay? Sean said no, Tony relayed the message. As you've said 'needs improvement (but in a positive tone and definitely not mad)', but is in the works right here. Just because what you want, and what you're being told are two different things, doesn't mean someone else needs to improve.

It hasnt nothing to do with what I want v. what I am told.

And, I will let go at that.

I am going off of the inept mod/admin responses that members SEE, and the lack thereof.

Yes, Mreik I will stop as you requested and let the thread topic continue.

My intent was not to spoil the topic, boss.

I hope you believe this.

Any hoot, thanks for responding.

To which you said ^

I already answered your question with the end statement. If you have further reasoning, then ask for yourself. Like mreik said, we are not here to whine and cry for Chillen (when a decision has been made). Certain changes happen, others dont.

I apologize in advance, Mreik. I am going slightly off-topic with some comments. I hope this is okay.

TM:

I wonder where that line of reasoning came from.

Believe me when I tell you, I dont whine about a thing.

I come out and voice my opinion boldy....on RARE occassions, and you KNOW it. Or at least should by now.

And, your statement simply isnt a fair conclusion.

If anything, I have shown an interest in this forum and its members, and have made VERY FEW posts wanting something for myself.

The conclusion is flawed.

Mods are not off limits to opinion on their behavior, and since I made my opinion known (and it hasnt changed one bit, other than Mreiks fantastic response and resolution in the text thread), you take as crying for Chillen.

Thats obsurd. And, not correct. But you are entitled to this wrong perception.

You have just proven one of my case in points.

All questions were not resolved, Mr Admin., sir, within my most recent posts.

Are the lines staying at 4 or are they increasing?

You didnt answer this in an administrative fashion.

Additionally, I made a comment about the rep thread, and you didnt answer it, in administrative fashion either (in this thread). What is the status? Where are we? It has been well over a month (I think). An update would be nice. Or a flat no there isnt going to an new things added (like the thank you system) that was suggested, or something else said constructively. And, I mean from the last time I had asked you.

I was very active in that thread---only for the general good of the forum. Some of the suggestions were discarded. This is fine. However, some were agreed to be implemented, but nothing has been done (other than a simple line change when repping someone), and wanting to know the status and commenting on mod behavior I get hung with:

I am crying for Chillen.

When I just have an interest in the forum.

Shame on you.

Some may not want to voice their opinion about mod behavior, but I am not afraid to do so.

And, its not one I generally do.

And, when I do "its crying for chillen". I wonder if that statement will prevent others from posting their REAL opinion--boldly but respectfully.

Whatever......My intentions are good, they always have been since I have been a member.

Mods/admins are NOT off limits or immune to opinion in the way they respond to forum matters. Just as a regular member arn't. IMO.

And to be honest, My comments about inept posts (or lack thereof) reference some matters, were aimed mostly at you.

I am rarely negative in posts, but your responses need to improve, IMO.

I am done with this thread, since you believe my questions/concerns have been answered.

I guess we have a different definition of what mutual constructive dialogue means.

EDIT: I have only made comments about the actions of a mod one other time, and it was concerning Mreik, and him messing with the Poll, in the pop in quizzes, which subsequently upset (Silent)-Trevor. So this ISNT a common theme I display on the forum.

Have a wonderful day.

Well, I for one, happen to think you're dead wrong.

I've been a mod on a few other forums, and based on my experience and perspective garnered from those, I happen to think the mods on this forum do a great job communication wise etc. etc. - top shelf !

Good mods are like good referees in a hockey game IMO. The best refs are the one's that ' let the players play ' just so long as they play within the rules.

In a great hockey game , you don't even notice the refs are there...ditto for a well run ( mod'd ) forum IMO...the majority of the time, you don't even notice the mods are there...which is the case here IMO.

Honestly I am not going to get into an arguing match over the interwebz. If you make a post and there is no response, it probably means it wasnt seen. Use the pm system that everyone talks about so much with a link and a "hey can you give me some info on this."

I usually come to the site, click user cp, and new posts. Sometimes I dont get all the posts in there. Also let me clarify this: as admin mreik nor I can change certain system settings, ie rep to thanks. I cannot go to AllCdnBoys house and force him to do it. It may be a slow process, but at least changes happen.

Some forums you dont get anything from the site owners. This is a smaller community, and forum members suggestions are usually handled speedily. However not everyone understands the detriments of certain wants and this leads to unhappiness.

Sig pics - Sorry its a no, as that would require html allowance as well.
Lines- Sorry that was the way it was setup a while back for certain reasons.

In regards to WLF and their html also. It just leads to spam really. The forum members their have their tickers, but then people sign up and mods there have to police all sigs for links. Its weird to me to allow html, but then give infractions for people who put links in their sigs.
