Little Miss 100%

ADAY 6 - Saturdays are my weigh in day and I'm down 5.8 pounds! It has been the longest damn week of my life, but oh so worth it!! My girls and I were out shopping today and hit Carl's Jr. And had the turkey burger (no mayo, no special sauce) and a tea. While my girls had French fries and onion rings. But stayed strong and didn't even take a bite! But ohhhhhh... I wanted too!

Nice work on the weekly weigh in! Those pounds are melting away (and here's hoping the snow will also!)

Meals look quite yummy and colorful and :iagree: with star that resisting the temptation is quite impressive.

Thank you feelinggooder :) Being tempted and always giving in is what I do best. So being able to resist it, for me, is quite a feat! You know what they say "Do what you've alway done and you'll get what you've alway had." I don't want what I've alway had anymore. I want a something new, so I must do something new!

So yesterday was a another good day. My husband BBQ'd tri-tip. I did have some, I cut off all vistable fat and bought the leanest one they had. So it was a good source of protein without alot of fat. Had a side salad (with light ranch) and a sweet potato. I normally have the baked potato with tons of butter and salt. With the sweet potato I didn't have to doctor it up in any way and it was creamy and fantastic! And get this....I DIDN'T TOUCH THE BREAD!!! :hurray:Of course, I had to cut it up and serve its warm goodness to everyone else. Sometime my house it torture..LOL! And, while I was at the store I also bought those thin crisp by Fig Newton. The kids know that if they touch those, they'll lose af finger! Such a better choice for me then the Oreo's that kept screaming my name. I called those cookies a few bad names and walked away from them! So all and all another day to be proud of. I've noticed that when I crave something sweet, if I have a little bit of 100% apple juice with natural sugars rather then donuts, it cures that sweet tooth with killing my day! I bought a 15 oz bottle at 7-11 and it has lasted me 3 days with 1/2 of it left. I'm learning that little choices add up to BIG RESULTS! This kids want to hit the frozen yogurt place today. I think I may get the Non-fat with pineapple and coconut, if I get anything, I'm not a huge fan of cold "ice-creamy" stuff. It has been gorgeous today, in the low 60's. So i will walk 2-3 miles later today!

DAY 7

Breakfast: Strawberry Hot Cereal with 1 TBP of Organic Coconut oil - 1 cup of coffee with 2% milk

Snack: 3 Newton Thin Fruits

Lunch: Tomato Soup (made w/ water) with Saltine crackers (enough sodium for the entire day, I'm sure)

Snack: We did end up going to Frozen Yogurt. I got the Non-Fat Coconut with pineapple chunck, shredded coconut and oatmeal...NO M&M, CHOCHOLATE CHIPS, PEANUT BUTTER CUPS, HOT FUDGE, SPRINKLES OR COOKIE DOUGH TOPPINGS

Dinner: Chicken, Jasime rice, with steamed broccoli with a drizzle of Asian Dressing by Kraft

Water: 2 Liters

Waked today, being 66 degrees outside, over 3 miles, uphill incline for 2 miles of it....:ack2:

We (the girls and I) got close to completing their Sience Fair Projects. In our school they are not required, yet my girls LOVE doing these things so I gladly help. Super day with the family!

Way to go girl! You're doing awesomely resisting all those temptations!

And over 5 pounds lost in a week is the stuff of dreams for most of us! Keep it up and you'll soon hit that 130 mark.

Thank you! It has been difficult resisting, but I just can't indulge...(not quite yet anyway). Easter will be my first free meal. I know the first week is always a big loss. But I'll take whatever I can get!

DAY 8

1 cup of coffee w/ 2% milk and splenda

Breakfast: Hot Cereal w/ 1 TBS of coconut oil

Lunch: Tuna, Spinach, Broccoli, Jasmine rice w/ drizzle of Asian dressing

Snack: Saltine crackers and coffee

Dinner: Rice

2 Liters of water

After lunch I had a bout of upset stomach/pain so I had some crackers and only rice for dinner. Didn't want any bad results...if you know what I mean

I did Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred and ate about 15 minutes after and I think that is what did my stomach in.

I've been reading this really interesting book called Food Rules by Michael Pollan. I'm about 1/2 way through and it's really good. Most of it is common sense, but worth reading. Just rules you should follow when buying food and eating. And if you follow these rules, you will be healthier. Which from what I've read, it seems like it would work.

Sorry to hear about your sore tum! I have tummy aches too, especially after exercising, gee they're annoying.

What angle does the Food Rules book take? I only ask because there are so many diet books out there that they all start to sound the same and I'm looking for one that can introduce some new info (like French Women Don't Get Fat, awesome book!). If you're halfway through it must be holding your attention at any rate!

i've been avoiding your thread because I read something about frozen yogurt and immediately had to close out of the page

but i thought my hunger would be less today so i read through it again and it didnt work. i soooo desperately want frozen yogurt now!

or ice cream... mmmm peppermint ice cream :smash:

maybe i should allow myself some since i had such a horrible monday with only three saltines? :leaving:

sorry. see what i mean? im lazy

I"ve been so bogged down with work! I hate that sometimes, it's a good and bad thing all rolled up into one. I have continued to be 100% everyday even with the stresses.

Yesterday

Coffee w/ splenda

Hot Cereal

Subway Sweet Onion on 9 grain - no cheese, or mayo, 6" =360

Whole Wheat Tortilla w/ Morning Star protein crumbles and a salad

Peace Tea

Slice of Provolone Cheese = 9 grams of protein and 70 calories

Walk/Ran 2.13 miles in 30 minutes

I have this annoying catch in my shoulder area...hurts like mad! I need to have my husband rub it!! Okay, off for another super busy day.

Yesterday was an....okay...day. Went grocery shopping with the girls. I do 2 weeks worth of shopping in one trip. So it's a major ordeal. So the girls wanted pot pies for dinner, quick and easy. We didn't get out of the store until nealy 7:00! So got home and heated them up and the girls wanted me to sit and have pot pies with them. I said "Well, Mommy doesn't eat those anymore" and my youngest says "Can't you eat just one?" I didn't want to send a message of "If you dieting you may never eat what you want ever again" to her, she is only 7. So I had a turkey pot pie with them. If I was going to plan to cheat it wouldn't be with a pot pie for sure! The begining of the day was spot on though.

Today was weigh in day. Only lost 1.4 pounds. I'm okay with that. I'm sure the sodium in the pot pie last night didn't help. But that will be flushed out today...hopefully  But not gaining....is always a PLUS! So I'm now in the 160's!! YEA :)

Here is a picture I thought I would share. This is what 5 pounds of fat looks like!

Now the chick holding it is so very thin, or maybe she just looks skinny next to the 5 extra pounds...but nonetheless... 5 pounds of FAT!

So I watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead today. So I will now be adding fresh juicing into my plan and maybe a juice fast within the next few weeks to reboot my system and detox from all the crap I've stuffed in my body over the years. Went to Costco loaded up on lots of veggies and fruits so we'll see how it goes!

AI like that one a lot. I would juice, but it's too expensive for me. :p
You should watch Fathead. It debunks the movie Supersize Me, and has a lot of info. :)

That's awesome - here's to your health!

You might feel a little weak and headachy at first in your fast but that's just you're body pushing out toxins, not because you're not getting enough food. As long as you drink when you're hungry, you're good. Another film I found helpful is "Food Matters" because it goes deeper into how our bodies can heal themselves and fight off disease if we give them what they need. It really pushes the point that medical doctors aren't trained in proper nutrition and will prescribe us medications instead of a healthy diet.

AHello!! I just stumbled upon your diary and have to say, you are very inspirational! It's so impressive that you've been avoiding temptation even when your family is eating delicious treats, or you've been finding healthier ways to enjoy them. I'm very envious of that willpower! I'll be back to get more motivation from you, for sure. Good luck on this continued journey!
