Little John's trying again. And again. Aaaand again.

Ladies, I've been married for 7+ years. Not a long stretch, but long enough to know the horrid truth that you don't poop rose petals!

I was really curious where that first sentence was going :D As to the second: no roses without compost ;)
Yay for the sucked-in gut improvement!

So the bad: I had a horrible row last night, I have some catching up to do to meet my goal for the week, but nothing intolerable.

The good: Ate correctly yesterday.

The ugly (or maybe not): I have less than 2 hours to find out my cholesterol and other exciting data.

Not much else to add today, just checking in!

A horrible row is better than no row at all, is it not? You did something and burned some calories so all is well. I need to get going myself with exercising too. Hope you have a great day today! :)

It's terrible to have bad workout. You feel so hopeful and proud of yourself going into it. 'Yay, look at me, getting in my workout like a good girl (boy)!' And then you start and you're like 'well, shit'.

Bah, all week my workouts have been mediocre at best. I lifted yesterday, but skipped the row. I feel motivation leaking out of every pore, and I feel powerless to stop it. Add to it, I ate horribly yesterday, and it feels like that won't be the last time. Ugh!

Anyway, blood looks good - cholesterol of 184, with an HDL of 40 (40 or higher is considered good). Blood pressure of 122/70.

This has been a long, long week.

Sorry for the hard week! Stop that ball from rolling now before it goes on too long!! It WILL be the last time you eat badly!

Bad week, bad weekend. But the weekend badness was planned, and I did manage to have a good strong row on Sunday and ate reasonably well when it wasn't part of the planned badness.

Anyway, back on LCHF today after a weekend of beer-tasting.

Sounds like it was a mixed bag this weekend. I hope you enjoyed it as much as you could. Welcome back to LCHF land! Let's start this week off on a good note! Both of us! :)

Planned badness is easier to counteract than unplanned badness... Probably because unplanned badness tends to last a lot longer! How was the beer?

The beer was excellent:

First stop was to Maggie McFly's where I insisted on doing a lager blind taste test. I'm not a big fan of lagers, but I saw a recent Budweiser ad where hipsters unknowingly enjoyed Budweiser, so I had to find out for myself since I'm constantly ragging on Bud. So the test was Budweiser, Yuengling, Narragansett, and Sam Boston Lager. I didn't know what they were, and only that Bud was going to be one of them. Preference worked out to be in order of the list above from worst-to-best.

Then a couple of local breweries for a cross-section of deliciousness.

I am SO not a beer person. I don't actual drink any alcohol anymore but even when I did beer tasted disgusting to me! I still can't imagine how anyone enjoys it!

Ha - there are a lot of beers I don't like, but I'm a beer snob. A nice hearty porter, it's like thick chocolate milk. And IPAs are just a fun experience to try all the different hops. Then again, if you're not drinking at all, you're not even interested!

Yesterday was a rest day in terms of exercise. I thought about hopping on the rower to make up for miles lost last week, but I'm just going to add onto the rows the rest of the week. Foodwise, yesterday, I done good. I'm upping the carb count, so I was able to have a slice of pizza with my big salad. Rest of the day was scrambled egg squares for breakfast, not-very-good beef/turkey squares with veggies for lunch, and a small cold-cut platter with walnuts for PM snack.

It's going to be nice out eventually, right? I don't like March.

Good job on the food yesterday! And it better get nice eventually. I'm ready for summer! Mostly because I'm tired of going out to warm my car up in the morning. lol.

I like the idea of the blind taste test. Our major TV ad shows hipsters unknowingly enjoying Sam Adams. Excuse me, not hipsters, they were 'craft beer drinkers.'

I like march, despite its flaws and setbacks. It´s nice to see green shoots creep out from everywhere. But if you´ve been buried in snow all winter long I can imagine you just want to be warming your bones to the sun again :)

LM, not a single shoot of green to be seen here. I think we're still a couple weeks away from that happening.

Really happy with my behavior yesterday, only 14 grams of sugars, 88 gram of carbs (target is now 100), and ~700 under calories. Good workout, too - this is the last week of my current workout regime, changing it up next week, and that's always something to look forward to - granted not as exciting as a vacation or a new car, but since those are both out, it'll have to be a new workout.

Weight is unchanged from last week, fat percentage and belly circumference are up a little. Misbehaving weekend, plus last week's less-than-perfect performance is to blame. In other words, I'm to blame.

In other news, I got a decent raise today - I say "decent" because it's really good for today's world, but still kind of depressing. Then again, with everyone in the company talking about tightening their purse-strings, I'm quite happy to see it!

Weekend is coming, and I'm going to a friend's beer party to sample a wide array of beverages brewed in the 413 area code. So low-carb is out for obvious reasons, but I can behave during the rest of the weekend, and it should be more doable since going outside should be an option for a change, and I have things I want/need to accomplish around the house.
