Lisa's Final Countdown, The Good Days, the Bad, & the Ugly

I think mcdonalds is EVIL. Its so damn evil because I love to eat there, and it is ALWAYS the first thing that throws me off the track of my diet. GRRRRRR. I hate cravings too. ROAR. lol.

I hope you have a great night!

Food cravings ...argh...pizza is a big trigger for me...i can go along on my diet doing good, but at sometime i NEED NEED NEEEEEEEEEED PIZZA... I know I can make low fat versions, but when I am tired, and in a hurry and not feeling like cooking its so easy to order one....then usually after one piece my addictive voice says "this pizza really tastes so much better than being thin feels"....it fools me into thinking being heavy is fine...i hate that f'in foodaddictive voice.

hope your day was wonderful........

mine actually was...and thanks for the words in my journal...after a year and 1/2 of greiving I am finally feeling "normal"...life will never be the same, a part of me died on 4/23/07 at 3:00 a.m....but I am giving myself permission to feel good...maybe thats why I finally am feeling good about getting healthy in my eating....i dunno..

sorry..hijack...

When I'm tired and don't feel like cooking is my problem too. And I'm so busy every day that on my one day off I just sit there or study. And you weren't hijacking :) You can come visit and chat in my journal anytime.

Hey, Lisa. I've been meaning to stop in and say "HI" :seeya:

Good work on avoiding the donut. Donuts and Pizza are the two real toughies for me. I do what I can to just avoid them all together, because when I don't, look out. :ack2:

Do you work the overnight shift?

Thanks :) I can avoid pizza and donuts alot of times...that's why I thought this was weird. I don't have any set food I can't pass up except hashbrowns and gravy :) (or biscuits and gravy). Just depends on the day I guess. And yea I work overnight shift...only two days a week now instead of 4 though. My other two days are on the weekend in the daytime. In some ways its easier but it almost makes the nights I do have to stay up that much harder. I HATE mon. and tues. nights for that reason and it doesn't help I have to go to class when I get off work after a ten hour shift.

it's great you didn't stop a second time looking for that donut. :)

Me too but I can't really take the credit...hitting a wall at the first donut place kinda took the wind out of my sails and by the time I finished my 30 minute drive home the exhaustion was really hitting me. So it was just as easy to keep driving home as to stop and walk in for a donut. Honestly drive-thru's make things too easy. If I had to walk in everywhere I think it'd be more deliberate and not so easy as somebody shoving food through my car window, lol. Stupid I know but I think I'd be less likely ...although I've been cutting back on drive through ALOT.

I could pass up any burger joint any day of the week except for one thing. Mcdonalds has hashbrowns in the morning ;/.

sorry I haven't popped in here in a bit. :blush5: Looks like you're keeping your calories in range even with the McD's. Good to see the universe thwarted your doughnut craving. :D Hope things shape up with "Sue" at work. She definately sounds like the type of person that should never have been hired in the first place. Best of luck with that!
Hope you have a good day today
Ciao Bella!!

Just dropping by to say hello. Wish I had the time to catch up with everything, so I won't lie that I'm dropping in for a quick dump and jump!

:)

Hiya...just keep repeating to yourself that McDonald's is evil. Luckily I have to go out of my way to satisfy my ultimate breakfast craving: toasted bagel with cream cheese from Panera. :leaving:

It helps that the staff at my local Panera don't know how to toast a bagel. I ask for it toasted and get it cold but sliced. Makes it easier to pass up!

Good to see you enjoying lots of yummy 'normal' foods, and still staying within the weight loss zone, Lisa!!!

Great to chat with you tonight! Keep kicking ass!!!!

Lisa! Thanks for keeping my journal company this week! I've been sooo tired, so all my free time, goes to the couch! I am going to start keeping accountable again with my food b/c I see a pattern of bad habits starting to emerge already (chocolate for lunch is not really a good thing!) Well, the good habits get to start after tonight since it's anniversary weekend! I have been holding off on chinese for months for a special occasion and my hubby suggested it (which is weird, b/c he doesn't really like it!) I'll try to be good though! I did happen to lose another pound and am down to 209. I haven't been able to eat large amounts at one time b/c it makes me nauseous, so that kind of helps! Anyway, just wanted to pop by! How was your anniversary? I guess it would help if I went back and caught up on your journal, right?

Just popping in to say hello! Hope everything is ok, you haven't stopped in for a while! Have a great weekend!

Hey everyone, soon as I have a chance I'll get back to you all but things have been hectic. I ended up a work on my day off all day Wed. then Thurs. I had classes and was exhausted so didn't get much done. And I've been very very sick since late Thurs. night.

Which serves me right because initially I thought it was because I had over ate at dinner on Thurs. We went to the Texas Roadhouse that brings you the yeast rolls by the basket and keeps them coming. That was around 4 then later that night I ate a bunch more we had brought home. I've overeaten on my calories before and made some wrong choices but this was different. I not only wasn't hungry while I was eating, I kept eating when I was seriously full and they no longer tasted good...definitely in the binge category and not something I've done like that in a while.

I got very sick and by the next morning (yesterday) I was throwing up. I figured out I had some sort of bug when the fever hit and after I got home from work yesterday I went to bed and got up feeling dizzy and like my head weighed 100lbs. My dh was sick last weekend with the same thing so makes sense.

The good part is I don't think those rolls at that restaurant are going to be a problem anytime soon. The very thought of them is not appetizing. I wish they made an antibuse pill for over eating like they do for alcohol and then there'd be ALOT of trigger foods that were no longer a problem.

Anyway like I said while I was very sick and nauseous I was also mad at myself and had the thought "it serves me right". Regardless of how strong my cravings or compulsions are, nobody is pointing a gun to my head. I DO have control as to whether I put the food in my mouth and I need to stop thinking that I don't. That was my little epiphany during this. It's great to have other people to help keep me accountable, I also need to be accountable to myself. I don't deserve this self-destructive behavior and I need to control it...and I CAN.

OMG, Lisa Texas Roadhouse ribs and rolls are the best:drool5:

That's why I stay FAR FAR away...:banghead: 'cuz I cannot resist!

Sorry your feeling crappy, I had one last week too, hope it goes better soon

thanks buckeye :) Isn't it funny how extra good things taste when you haven't had them for a while? lol

Hey people get busy :) Oh and "sue" pulled a bunch more crap since I last posted so after our staff meeting yesterday she had to meet with the big bosses and she got her final termination warning. One more thing and she's gone...normally I think she'd be out the door already if my company wasn't so severely understaffed already. That's ok though...I don't have to be a fortune teller to know she's going to hang herself before very long.
Just dropping by to say hello. Wish I had the time to catch up with everything, so I won't lie that I'm dropping in for a quick dump and jump!

Hey that works for me, I know how busy stuff can get so you taking the time to even stop by and say howdy means alot. I'll try to come by and catch up with you soon when I get more time too.

Yea and we have very few restaurants in our town...less still that are good and then limited by where my hubby will eat. He's recently decided he doesn't like applebees either so we're down to two restaurants.

Which we don't need to eat out all the time but honestly, if this is a lifestyle change for me, I need to learn to stop on my own when faced with food I normally pig out on. Because the food tempations will always be there whether I avoid them or not. Especially now that I work weekends at the group home and all they want to do is eat, lol. Did I mention the part where Wed. I ate mexican food and then had two pieces of chocolate pie because it was a co-workers birthday?

On the upside though I should compare this to the fact I had a few bad days in my week. With the strict diets I was on before I'd be off my "diet" and eating my way back up the scale preparing to go back on. So glad I'm off THAT roller coaster. Instead I'm I just hit a bump in the road but I'm still working on it and even with all my screw ups I seemed to have lost 2lbs anyway. I'm not going to get too excited though because after not eating the last two days and being sick, it may come back.
