Lisa's Final Countdown, The Good Days, the Bad, & the Ugly

Thanks, I had that sinking feeling when I left though.

Hah, got one of those the other day. Walked in to find the bubble sheets for the quiz answers sitting on the table up front, I was WTF? Then I remebered he finished a chapter the class before... Always a quiz the next class... yeah, no studying... at all. Pretty well sucked at it.

I've had quite a few sucky quizes...we have them every Wednesday and I'm going in after being up all night at work. I've gotten B's on the exams but the quizes total up to one full exam grade in the end so that's been dropping me slowly. I'll see what I get tomorrow but if I can't get a B in this class I'm pulling out with a W before Nov. 2nd. After that I can't. Anyway I'm exhausted. My hubby wasn't home when I got here and he was supposed to be. He was going to make me dinner. Then he said he wouldn't be so I just made it myself and sat down to relax and the butthead came in and took the TV away from me. I have to go to work in an hour so I can't sleep or I know I won't wake up. I'm too tired to do much else...was going to catch up on everyone's journal but I'm too tired to know what to say right now, lol. Meh...I'll do it tomorrow. Have a good night everyone :)

The first pic of me was back in May 2008, right before I joined the forum...not at my highest weight but I think only about 10lbs under it. And the second pic I took today. I see a difference :)

As has already been said, the loss SOOO makes you look younger. Awesome work Lisa! Imaging how cool the next photo will look compared with these two ;)

I've gotten so much support in my journal and lately I think I missed getting back to some people with stuff being so chaotic. I really appreciate it though. It took me awhile after joining the forum to get it...I always seem to have to figure out things the hard way. But after finally getting off the diets and just doing the basic counting calories I feel like the last two months have been the most successful weight loss I've ever had. With all the craziness of school and craziness and extra hours at work I'd never have been able to maintain a "diet" and I'd most likely be 20lbs heavier. That and I definitely noticed when my internet was down how much I get out of this forum in the way of support and me staying on track.

So what I'm trying to say is thanks guys :) I don't think I could have done it without ya! I've lost 18 pounds the last two months, 28 down from my highest and I'm getting to enjoy that feeling of all my clothes getting very loose. Well...not the pants and underwear falling down part but you know what I mean, lol.

I was talking about this the other day -around mid september i get a major craving for candy corn - or those candy pumpkins in the autumn mix... about 3 weeks later -i'm so over it... and i think everyone else is too... the jar of candy corn on my desk hasn't been refilled in a few days.. and we had been going thru a bag every couple of days.. :)

I'm gonna beat my husband if he doesn't keep his snacks put away where I don't have to look at them. I ate a twinkie today...no biggie but if it hadn't been there to eat....

Anyway food today so far:

those husbands!!! curses them..

what i do for my soup is just take beef broth and add a packet of lipton onion soup and a can of tomatos (stewed, diced)..and then i put in whatever...a bag of fresh stirfry veggies, brocolli, califlower...anything...that i have leftover as far as veggies. I have even put leftover cut up chicken breast...it is good...and simple....

my chicken recipe is something new i have been doing...i have been taking breasts marinated in some soy sauce and slicing them and stuffing them with veggies like mushrooms/onions/garlic and ONE chopped green olive...just one...and then i take this portabello mushroom sauce from Meijer and just put a little over the top..its 10 cals a tbsp....

i am not much of a cook..i dont really like it, but its been what has helped me stay on track

Ok I'm too tired to type everything out but I added up my cals on fitday real fast for today (yesterday now) and I'm at 1880. Gonna go sleep ZZZzzzzzZZzzzzz

Hey Girl, 28 pounds rocks! Here's to the next 28!!!!

great job staying on track despite the twinkie. That's the one thing that's great about Matt not being here, I'm not constantly staring at his doritos and pizzas. I guess portion control is going to be my bestfriend once he gets back....
Congrats on the 28 lbs you're doing great Lisa. I can't wait to see the next set of pictures once you've lost some more. and hey, you may not like the baggy saggy pants but soon enough you'll be fitting into smaller, (and better fitting) pants anyways. enjoy knowing you've lost enough to need to keep pulling your pants back up. it's a fun feeling.
Ciao Bella!!!

Thanks Shandy, I also give myself credit because those twinkies were there for days before I finally ate one. And before I would have ate more than one. Ironically once I had one I was like "wow this isn't that great" and haven't cared since. I guess I rate my calories now more than I realized, lol. If something has alot of calories for it's size it better taste REALLY good.

Anyway the fact that I don't plan cheat days is a good thing...because they find me on their own, lol. Today I was doing pretty well but slipped up on the chinese food again. We went to the mall and I ordered way too much without having any clue what had the most calories. And I pigged out, I'm not gonna lie.

Breakfast:

Kashi Cereal w/ soy milk-250
banana-100

Lunch:
sweet & sour chicken frozen dinner-210
hubby's dang pringles chips-300
apple-80
cheese-120

Dinner:

Fried rice-330
bourbon chicken-190
pepper chicken-200
orange chicken-500
egg roll-150

Total for the day: 2430

On the upside, we walked all over the mall and completely outside and around it to get to a certain store so I was walking alot today. We stopped at a pet store that had some kitties there today and the people who had them were packing up to take them home. So I found out they were a small local animal rescue group that does foster care for animals. I was happy :) I can't take anymore kitties home but it was suggested in our challenge this month that we donate a can of food to a canned food drive for every pound we lose this month. Some people said they were going to donate to local animal shelters instead because they didn't know where a food drive was so I think I'm going to donate cat/dog food to this group.

I'll see if I can find a food drive and probably donate to that too. But I'm pretty excited about helping this rescue group and I love animals so that's very motivating to me. I also spotted some shoes I really like today at the mall that I'm going to buy when I get back into jeans so that's a reward goal. All I can fit into right now are knit legging pants. This may sound weird but I don't spend alot on shoes and won't wear certain ones because I don't want to draw more attention to my knit pants ;/. It's going to take a while but I think by my birthday in May I can reward myself with some new shoes and wear the jeans I have saved back in my closet right now...all new. Ok I'm off to bed.

animal rescue groups are a great charity - and too often overlooked (they're also a great place to give old towels and blankets to as well
