Lisa's Final Countdown, The Good Days, the Bad, & the Ugly

That is so cute! Sometimes my boyfriend stuffs one of our kitties down his shirt and they stay there for about a minute before they come flying out of his shirt collar. But they won't even let me do that :(

Hey there :)

Thanks for the kind words you left when you stopped by my diary. It sounds like your on the right track. It's hard to deprive yourself of carbs for too long, I know. We don't have Panera Bread here but, we have a bunch of other stuff... I sometimes eat Chipotle but got kind of burnt out on it... Great purchase on the digital food scale. Now the guess work is over :)

Take Care,
Sam

Oh your welcome and I meant them :) Thanks for the encouragement, it couldn't come at a better time. Still getting use to the fact I can actually eat normally and still lose weight without being on some rigid diet. I actually felt guilty eating pineapple today, lol.

Today's food:

Breakfast: good ole nasty Atkins Shake

Lunch:
Panera bread, half turkey & bacon bravo, half greek salad

Snack:
pineapple chunks, pluot (apparently a cross between a plumb and an apricot)

Dinner: Steak, mashed potatoes, one roll (restaurant leftovers from the other night) and a salad

Total calories: 1984 Total Carbs: 161.7

And all my veggies have done great so far in the green bags except for the prepackaged salad...it got brown but not slimy but still I tossed it out ;/. I'll just buy whole lettuce and chop up some at a time like I did before though and no problem there.

You know where you have one of those days where nothing goes right? Well that was not the case today, it was great :)

Ok so here's the best part though. Tomorrow I will have been watching my food and exercise for a week. Last week I weighed 338. Today I weigh 332.8!!! I've lost 5.2 pounds!!!!!!
:jump:

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!!!

Way to go !!!!

I wrote a huge rant then deleted it,lol. Doubtful anyone but a few saw it but I'm sure nobody cares to read that crap. My husband really ticked me off tonight but I just want to say normally when I'm upset I eat. I didn't do that this time, there was no me in the kitchen (or anywhere else) stuffing my face. I really think its time I stop letting outside influences get me off track from my goals, regardless of whether its stress, infuriating husband, hectic schedule, or whatever.

Did writing the rant help you stay out of the kitchen, even if you did delete it?

Because if it did, then maybe you could use that as a stress reliever in the future. Stranger things have happened. Sometimes, writing something down that bothers you can be cathartic, even if nobody else ever sees it. Write it down, get out your frustrations, then crumple it up (or hit delete... this is the new millenium), and throw away some of your frustrations.

I've done it before, and there have been enough rough patches over the years that a LOT of paper (figuratively speaking) got thrown away!!

Sounds like a healthier coping mechanism than stress eating doesn't it?

Very true :) I was just proud of myself or stuffing my face not being my first thought after I was upset. But definitely being honest about my feelings and also typing it out even though I deleted it helped for sure.

That's awesome Lisa ! I struggle with the same thing too.. that's why I call 'em "the Wall", I have to get over it, heh.

I have a separate journal where I rant and then I'll look back at it later and that's always good for a laugh :smilielol5:

I think alot of men could be called "the wall", lol. Because when you're talking to them it's like beating your head on one. No offense to the guys reading this, thats why I didn't say all men, lol.

HMMM... good thing I'm not one to take offense easily :toetap05:

My wife told me once that she was glad that she didn't marry a guy who just wanted to sit in front of the TV and watch football... Funny thing is, she's a bigger fan now than I am!!! She was working on Sundays a lot last year and calling me up every five minutes when a game was on to find out the score! Personally, I think it's because she has a thing for Tom Brady...

That's hilarious, lol. Yea I'm in no danger of being a football fan...hate it. When I was a kid I pretty much got sent to my room during football season so I wouldn't interrupt the game. So when I'm already feeling like I'm lacking in quality time with my hubby, taking a backseat to football isn't something I'm real tolerant of, especially when it's sprung on me late at night. Oh well though, that's marriage, lol.

Another fantastic point. :D

Football is so much bigger for you guys, it's kinda funny. I s'pose it's our hockey.. Which I am a huge fan of. Har har. :eh:

Football, to me, is more fun to play than watch! I hate watching it. Thank god american football isn't aired anywhere in europe! :hurray:

No but my husband informed me the other day that Europe has European football leagues. I argued thinking he had it confused with soccer but nope...for once he was right. Anyway yea I'd rather play a sport than watch others play it. To me it's like watching other people play monopoly...why would I do that? lol

Oh wait, just asked Robbie. They DO have 'american' football here. But its not aired, its not big enough here. My bad :) I was wrong!

Sorry! *hides*

Popularity for that type of sport runs more along the lines for rugby and football. Robbie wants me to mention something about europeans not needing padding and real men or something. Ignore that manly thing :p.

Are there macho sporty forums for our husbands/boyfriends to send to for this type of talk? :)

So, I doubt anyone would call me on this if I didn't post my food log today. But in keeping with being accountable there's a reason I haven't. My husband took me to chinese food today and it was a buffet. So of course I ate little bit of alot of things and I'm sure I over did it. But honestly trying to figure out the calories in it all would be a nightmare and nowhere close to accurate. Since that's all I ate today I'm just going to have a light dinner if I get hungry, salad or veggies or something. I almost got ice cream earlier but told myself no, having a bad lunch isn't a license to go hog wild all day.

So anyway I got a perm this morning and I'm really happy with it. I haven't had one since one time in highschool and other than that my hair's been pretty much the same. I wanted to do something to feel better about my appearance while I'm losing weight and I guess I finally realized I deserve to feel ok with how I look and not frumpy. I'm starting to get excited about the thought of being able to wear the jeans I have in my closet :) It's gonna take some time but still...actually starting to see it as possible. The fact I was able to lose 80lbs once before does help, even though I didn't always do it the right way. At least I know did it once and can do it again.

Oh no need to say sorry, lol. You are in now way required to know anything about football as far as I'm concerned. I was just passing along info that was forced upon me by my hubby. And if you do find a forum PLEASE let me know, lol. Over here my hubby plays "fantasy football" with his friends on the computer but thats not exactly a forum. Men are so funny
