i start this journey 20 lbs. heavier than last year at this time, 180. I am 5 ft. 3 and 200 lbs. I know I have ignored this problem for way too long! I am depressed, embarrassed and feel disgusting. I stopped exercising several months ago. I am in desperate need of help and motivation.

Welcome to the forum :)

A good start would be to let everybody know what your current diet and exercise consists of so we have a starting point for offering help. Also Including any medical conditions which my affect weight loss or exercise is important to know as it can change the advice given.

Hi, Lisa & welcome to the forum. Firstly, you have no reason whatsoever to feel embarrassed or disgusting. You will find that you have much more in common with most of us in here than you may think. We don't have all the answers, but what we do have is a strong & supportive group of people, & this is a place where you should feel comfortable. We have all been there. We all have our own battles with self-esteem, comfort eating, loss of motivation......you name it! There is also a lot of expertise. As Tru said, share a little more about what you eat, any medical conditions etc & we will try to help you. You are valued by us. We have a lot of respect for one another & you are very welcome here.

Hi Lisa!
Welcome to the forum! I'm new, too and I must say, I totally understand where you're coming from. I gained most of my weight due to depression, and that can really sneak up on you. I hope that you get all of the support that you need while you're here and I look forward to seeing some more posts from you in the future!

Best Wishes! <3

I started taking abilify to curb my mania about 7 mos. ago. This is about the time when I felt better mentally but physically stopped working out and had a huge appetite. I was working out 4 days a week and now down to zero.
